On the Wings of Love [Closed]

Lightning would smile back at Spectrum as he hovered through the air. His face was still flushed red as he watched her fly out to him. Giving her a nod, the pegasus would begin to fly a large circle around the small town that he lived. He was going at a rather relaxed pace, not too fast but not too slow. Just relaxed. Lights had already come on in Stableton and the town appeared to be the one lighted spot in a sea of darkness now.

Looking down at the town, Lightning smiled a little at his home but looking up, he would make sure Spectrum was flying beside him. He gave her a smile and feeling the urge to show off a little, he rolled his body into a barrel roll, showing off a rather rare side of himself. His long-lost playful side of his personality. Laughing a little, no words would come up to describe this moment. It was simply perfect. That's it. How was it that after suffering a traumatic experience back in Stable 113 that he meets a mare not soon afterwards that made his heart soar again to the skies? He couldn't answer that question but he was extremely thankful that it did happen that way.

Spectrum followed close to Flash, the lights from below showing the town's beauty in the vast of the wastes. Her gaze went over the town, taking it all in of the town that Lightning called home to look up in time to see the stallion preform a small areal trick. A tiny giggle escaped as she did her own barrel roll up and over Flash ending up on the opposite side of him, a wink as she puffed up her chest egging him on in there slow flight before relaxing again appreciated the silence that Flash upheld. Not jumping a head nor falling behind she kept perfect speed with him.

Lightning watched as the skilled pegasus mare flew up and barrel rolled around him, ending up on the other side of him. He grinned back as she gave him a wink. The urge to turn this slow flight into a competition rose up a little in Lightning but he held back and chose not to do such a thing. Instead, he had another plan in mind.

Night flights were rare to the pegasus stallion and he never really took the time to fly like this over his town of Stableton. As they circled, it made Lightning think how this one lighted spot in town provided such a haven to the ponies of Stable 113 and the ponies that had been traumatized by war or other such things the wasteland threw them. Spotting one unlighted little building, Lightning broke his circle and motioned for Spectrum to follow him.

With a nice and easy glide, Lightning slowed his hover and came to a soft landing on his hooves in front of the building. He pulled out a key and soon unlocked the door. Breaking the silence between the two, he smiled gently toward the white mare and said, "I...just thought I'll show you my home. In case...I don't know...if you ever need to find me." Holding out his hoof, he smiled and allowed her to walk in first, "After you."
