'Welcome To Harmony'[FINISHED]

As the ship started to do a barrel roll, Arc decided that getting wet outside might not be such a bad idea. Giving up on trying to find something buoyant inside the hallway, he quicly galloped to the hatch that led to the utside walkway of the ship.

"Well, nothing ventured, i'll get soaked."

Arc opened the door and quickly jumped over the railing into the cold, raging ocean.

As Kes struggled to reach Winter, Flash called out from the water for him.

Once Kes turned his head, He disappeared with a flash of lightning striking simultaneously.

Only Winter was there floating by the time Flash made it over....

For the second time in his life Scrap found himself flying. And for the second time in his life he decided that it wasn't the flying that was so bad; it was the landing.

After his impact with the water he took a quick mental inventory. His barding was still on as was, rather miraculously, his tie. His lightning pistol was still with him though some of the extra spark batteries were currently making their way towards the bottom of the ocean.

With no better plan at this point Scrap picked a direction and started swimming. Praying to the godesses that he and everyone he knew and cared about would somehow make it out of this disaster.

Things had gone south really almost as soon as Bakewell had gotten the room sealed. Not that dodging flying objects and being hurled around like a sack of potatoes was unfun, but Bakewell was seriously starting to doubt that being stuck at a 75 degree angle on a boat in a raging storm was anywhere in the same neighborhood as “safe”. But Kestrel had ordered them to lock up. He wouldn’t lie, would he? No. This room was safe.

But none of her friends were in this room. Her husband wasn’t in this room. They gave her a second chance, and she was just going to sit here and let them die alone in a storm? No. She was getting out of here. Buck Kestrel's orders.

In an instant the mare managed to crawl over to the nearest hatch and yank it open. Water immediately drenched her as she forced herself sputtering out into the storm beyond.

Kes kept swimming looking around for any signs of survivors around him. Behind him he heard a loud splash, no doubt the sound of another survivor landing in the abyss; the shouting of his name only made it more obvious. He would check that out later, for now he had another target in mind.

Winter Bell.

And why was the stoic, cold hearted gryphon looking for the kind, caring medic? Because she was a medic. Kes had no doubt that should the passengers survive this night they would need medical attention.

And it was hard to get that when the only doctor in the group drowned in the ocean.

Kes scoured the surface of the waves with his sharp gaze, looking for any sign on the mare in question. He found his sign in the form of the flower that had once found a home in Winter's mane. It had managed to get thrown off of when she had hit the water and was currently fighting to stay afloat on the surface.

"Shit." Kes thought realizing what that meant. Winter was below surface...this was going to suck. Taking a deep breath Kes dove below the water, and swam forward; his front talons carefully probing the water before him.

His eyes were kept closed, the salty brine of the ocean would have burned them otherwise. Even if he could open them, he would not have been able to find much of anything on his own. It was pitch black in the water, visibility was naught.

Kes would have to rely on luck and determination to find Winter for now. Hopefully he would be able to find her before she sank to deep. If not he would resurface, take a breath, and then dive back down again and continue his search.

Or he would have if something hadn't latched onto him and started dragging him down into the depths. He could not tell what the hell was dragging him down. Maybe it was one of those monsters that the sailors at the docks had talked about. Maybe it was just fate. In any case Kes, for once, was powerless to try and fight against whatever was trying to kill him.

It would have been a waste of breath, and air was a precious commodity here under the surface...

As the boat grinded agaisnt the rocks in each crushing wave, About a mile off, a signal light from a lighthouse began to light up..... but was much too far to be of any use....only there to make its presence known

Lightning tried to swim over to Kes but he had never swam much in his life and he never enjoyed doing it anyways. But something strange would happen soon after. One second, the pegasus could see the griffon. The next, he was gone with a lightning bolt to blind his vision just at the right time. "Kes!" he shouted out as he quickly tried to swim over as fast as he could. Whirling around wildly, the griffon was nowhere to be found.

Instead, just a bit off to the distance, was another pony. Lightning didn't waste his time to swim over to the mare. As he got closer, he could see who it was. Winter Bell. Quickly calling out to her, he tried to raise his voice higher than the wind, "Winter! Winter, are you ok?!" Once he had reached her, Lightning made sure to lift her head above the water, trying desperately to stay afloat while trying to keep Winter afloat. Gently shaking her, the pegasus tried to get her awake as soon as possible, "Winter, wake up! Wake up!"

Once Starry was done, Shutter would have quickly grabbed her hoof himself, as he pulled her towards his room. He didn't have much on hand, having not thought to bring as much as Starry.

"Damn it, I didn't bring much...Let's just hope the boat do-AUGH!"

As Shutter lead Starry, the boat lurched hard on it's side, slamming him into the side of the corridor, pain hitting the buck hard as he was bashed against the wall. He hit the ground hard, before looking up, at the now tilted corridor.

"...Oh no...We can't be...Starry, forget my stuff, we have to get out of here NOW! Before the ship goes under and us with it!"

He said, as he struggled back to his feet, the pain from his collision still fresh.

As Zestari and Happy crawled their way through the violent storm towards her cabin, they heard the terrified shrieks and screams of ponies who had been knocked overboard or were about to. Scrambling around trying to get purchase on the deck, they finally turned towards a corridor. Zestari's room was just around the corner.

Then the ship suddenly lurched and started listing dramatically. Throwing both of them over the handrail and into the frigid ocean.

Winter stirred a little as words came into focus, her eyes blurry from being incapacitated. Her lungs were filled with a little water which she choked up after being supported by Flash. *Flash* The light pierced her eyes and she began calling out for Cross, thinking the flashing was him teleporting which of course was nothing more but the lightning itself. Her eyes began to focus more and her ears began to clear up as her eyes flickered before opening. She blinked a few times before tiredly looking to Flash, "Flash ?" she said but her words were to quiet and too weak to be heard over the storm even though they were right there next to each other. As she began picking up her surroundings more she began to hold herself closer to Flash as she couldn't swim. She looked to Flash with panic in her expression, "What's happening, where is every pony ?!" she said with worry wavering in her voice.

Mona would have quickly slung her hooves around the wheel of the ballroom door, using it for stability as the ship was lurched...there was no way this thing was going to survive now...
Giving a glance about the ballroom as tables and teapots were flung everywhich direction, Mona spotted something outside the viewing panels.

A lighthouse.

She quickly weighed her options...the room was fairly water-tight...so they could either stay here, and no doubt be confined to a watery grave...or try their luck at getting to that shore that the lighthouse was on, and still probably get pulled under.

Option two at least had a chance, but she'd voice her opinion to the other guests rather then go ahead, in case they wanted to try for the 99% chance of death option themselves, rather then the 100%.

"Everyone. The ship is sunk. But we might have a miniscule chance of survival if we try and reach that lighthouse. Or we can wait to be pulled down in a metal prison. Choice is yours."

Dash watched as the crazy unicorn mare vanished below the surface of the water suddenly. He gasped as much as he could without inhaling water. He had wanted to be away from the mare, but he hadn't meant like that, "Goddesses..." Dash whispered to himself. He pointed his dark blue eyes to the water, but only saw a blackened abyss which promptly splashed him with salty water. He didn't know what to do... He had gone out to save Twisted and Blazen and now it looked like both of them were gone. He shivered heavily and looked around for something, somepony who was still alive. He then spotted it as lightning flashed across the sky. The boat leaning threateningly to one side. Dash didn't dare go closer to it. He looked around, struggling to keep himself above the water and he spotted a few ponies bobbing on the surface.

Having been born and raised in Friendship City, a settlement almost completely surrounded by water. He knew how to swim. He paddled with all his might toward those ponies he saw, fear filling him as he saw a few here and there vanish below the waves now and then, "HEEYY!!!" Dash yelled as he tried to get closer. He then saw a light in the storm, a.. lighthouse? Dash ignored it for now and continued toward the other ponies.

Water crashed violently against Trails, body running through his sinuses and leaving him in a pained haze. He fought his way to the surface, almost clawing at the water. He was good at a lot of things, but swimming wasn't one. Trails gasped for air as he breached the surface, doing his best to clear his vision and ignore the ringing in his head. The ship was almost gone now, this was more than a storm then, not one to ride out.

"Zestari." He roared the first thing that came to his mind, he knew that his voice was lost in the gale. Still he screamed, still he thrashed, still he searched.

"Zestari." His voice was hoarse, cracking in the wind as he called out to her. Trails fought the waves, fought the inescapable inky depths that surrounded him. He felt his body grow tired, he ignored the pain and kept swimming.

"Zestari." His calls were fainter, barely audible to even him. A voice told him to give in and sink, he told the voice to shut up. He had failed her already, so soon broken his promise to keep her safe. No. He wasn't giving up, she needed him, and he would be there for her no matter what.

"Zestari." It was just a whisper now, almost like a prayer of reassurance. Trails could feel his strength leave him, feel the waters closing in. He felt the world shut out as he sank, slowly into a cold and unfeeling end. Mostly, though, he felt an incredible agony at the loss of his love. He looked up to the moon and said her name one final time, wanting it to be his last thought. "Zestari."

Sky tried to get to the bridge of the ship, but to her surprise it was blockaded. No way for her to enter there, so only chance was to actually go out into the rain. She might fall off or something, but it seemed to be a better option than to wait for the boat to go on its side. With a quick decision she ran outside to the deck, holding on to the railings not wanting to fall off. But to her amazement, she saw a flicker of light far off into the ocean. Sky didn't what it was, or why it was doing in the middle of the ocean. She just knew she had to get there, how she didn't know as flying was out of the question.

Starry had tried bracing herself, and keeping a grip on Shutter's hoof, but the momentum tossed her against the wall as well. "Shutter, are you okay?!" Starry asked, as she stumbled to her hooves. The question was reflexive, as Starry quickly realized what was happening to the ship.

"Oh, sweet Celestia no... Shutter! We've got to get as far away from this ship as possible!" A light outside of the window caught Starry's eye, it was the lighthouse! "THERE! That lighthouse! We have to swim there!"

Starry glanced looked around the hallway, trying to formulate a plan. They didn't have time to climb up to the deck of the ship, it would be sinking by then, and they would get caught in the undertow. They had to get out, now. Starry glanced at the wall, the one with windows which revealed the lighthouse in the distance, when a spark lit up in her eyes.

"Shutter! Get inside this room! Quick!" Starry opened the door to somepony's room with her magic, as she opened her saddlebag and latched one of her homemade mines to the window. She checked to see that Shutter was inside the room, before she pressed her hoof against the activating trigger on the mine, and darted inside the room with him, closing the door behind her.

She leaped on top of Shutter, pushing him toward the back of the room and taking cover behind the bed when the mine exploded, leaving a sizable hole in the hull of the ship, and tearing out a good chunk of the wall in the room where Starry and Shutter were taking cover.

"Quick! Let's go!" Starry shouted to Shutter, as she scrambled to her hooves and dashed out the hole in the ship, intent on swimming to the lighthouse.

Arc was no swimmer, he knew that very well, but there was no other option. As he tried to find something to latch on before his telekinesis spell, currently only thing holding him from drowning, managed to drain him of all his strength, he spotted that the ship in fact managed to run into small island holding a lighthouse.

"Well, i might actually survive this trip.", he though as he slowly pushed himself in the direction of the island.

Being forced into the water, many ponies sought shelter within the reaches of the glow from the lighthouse. But none could reach it, each pony was eventually swallowed by the abyss itself...slowly but surely and without warning they were pulled under...losing consciousness...with no answers, and not a hope or a prayer of escaping...The night was long, but their time above these horrid waters was short. They would not reach the shore this day...

Within an hour they were all either dead ...or gone

Had anypony been alive to see it, they would have noticed the darkness and the storm never receded in its undying mission to defend its host.

Awakening you find yourself in a metal and glass sphere that appears to be heading down into the ocean... A loud intercom streamed into the room. Overhead appears what might be a steel door, but water leaks from it, suggesting only the ocean lied above. Yet for some strange reason regardless of what happened you somehow manage to find all your gear among a pile of random articles that appear to be savaged from the boat.

"I am Filthy Rich, and I am here to ask you a question. Is a stallion not entitled to the sweat of his brow?

'No,' says the earth pony in the Ponyville, 'it belongs to Equestria'
'No,' says the unicorn in the Canterlot, 'it belongs to the Goddesses.'
'No,' says the pegasus in Cloudsdale, 'it belongs to everypony.'

I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose...



A city where the artist would not fear the censor,
where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality,
where the great would not be constrained by the small.
where the war of Luna, will not steal your freedom.

And with the sweat of your brow, Harmony can become your city, as well."

The signal broke into Static, you and you're comrades passed an ocean self and came within view of a magnificent city, domes, towers, lights! and at the center of the city appeared to be a spiraling tower, magic spiraling from its base upward..... the sphere began to slow down....fish and whales occasionally swam by without a care, occassionaly a dark figure would move about the base of the city, but the distance was too great to be certain of their nature.

Slowly the sphere came to a halt, and with a hiss of steam, you and you're newfound companions are released into a welcoming area...full of debris, trash, and skeletons.

Not much different from the Equestrian Wasteland.
