Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Catching the powder and radigator in a feild of magic ale made his way over to the fire. Removing his armor and placing it close enough to the fire to dry he begain to admenister the healing powder to his injured leg. "Another day another flesh wound." he thought to himself. Turning to the gryphon he remembered was called kes he asked, "is that guy in the hood always so..."freindly?"

Kes shook his head no at the inquiry. Cross did not always act like this, but after getting shot in the leg and taking a grenade to the face it was made sense that he would act a bit out of character.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
"Guess he dosen't talk much" Ale thought to himself, he haden't herd the gryphon speak a single word the entire time he'd been here but at this point he was too tired to care. "Maybe he'll say something tomarrow."
Ale scooted a little closer to the fire and layed down, as he stared at the dancing flame he thought about how he ended up in this mess. The game of cards that robbed him of his personal rifle, the "crime" that got him kicked out of applelosa, and how the slightest show of aggresion got him a new hole in his leg. One things for sure, he still has alot to learn about the wastland. As his thoughts trailed off his eyelids got heavyer and heavyer untill he finally fell into a somewhat peacefull sleep.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
"Ughhh, Guys...I had this crazy dream where I got shot by a grenade...got some kinda concussion and starting ranting...." Cross shook himself awake...nopony was awake....the fire was out and he was alone, a pony he had never seen before. Kes and Trails seemed to still be awake but Cross wasn't sure they heard him....he had an excruciating headache but a nice night's sleep should take care of that......

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Morning came soon enough for Kestrel. Like always he was up before the sun had started its climb into the heavens above. And despite being on guard most of the night Kes had managed to get some decent sleep.
Standing up to his full height Kes stretched himself out, his wing joints popping as they were flexed and worked. The tension in his muscles gone Kes walked over towards one of the windows, staring out at the horizon waiting on the others to get up so that they could get moving.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Trails spotted Kes out of his peripheral and made a mental note to go and talk to the griffon in a second. He started another small fire for now, setting some fillets that he had recovered from his dead brahmin on a makeshiftn grill. To add to the radigator steaks he took out a loaf of bread and some yucca, wrapping the latter in some prickly pear he'd gotten off a trader from New Pegasus and setting it on the grill. He made some coffee and left his food to cook for a while.
"Morning." he sighed to Kes, sipping from his cup. "I've got breakfast going."

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
"Mornin" Kes rumbled out, still not taking his eyes off the horizon. By Kestrels guess there was about ten or fifteen minutes before the sun rose up and started its hike across the wasteland sky. But there was no definite guarantee it would do so.
Sol was a temperamental star, it did what it wanted, when it wanted.
Kestrel could smell the radiator cooking already, and the sounds of his companion sipping some coffee did not go unnoticed. Kes made mental note of the bucks newfound skills, adding the infomation to the steadily growing 'file' that the gryphon had constructed.
It was an old habit of his, to watch and make note of others. One that despite its oddity had saved the bird more times than he could count. His father had taught it to him when he was just a kid.
"Keep your beak shut, your senses keen, and always have a plan; no matter what." he had said to Kes, just before taking a sip of whiskey.
Good times. Good times.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Cross slowly stirred up as he heard the others begin a fire to start cooking, he woke up and shook himself, trying to make sure he got his focus on for the long day ahead. He just rolled up his gear and donned his red cape once more, slowly trotting over to the fire, he still had a major headache from last night. Although his memories was fuzzy from the details. He pulled out a Sparkle-Cola and popped the cap off, taking a long swig.

"Morning." Trails replied to Cross curtly. "Breakfast is on the fire, help yourself but leave some for the rest of us. Same goes for you Kes." He paused to take another sip of coffee. "How's your head Cross?"

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Kes gave a nod in response to Trails' offer of breakfast. He would wait a bit before going to get some and ,despite being rather hungry, he would leave some for the others. He did not do so out of kindness though. He just knew that if the greenhorns didn't get any grub they would start bellyaching, and Kes did not feel like putting up with that.
After grabbing a piece of radigator and some Coffee the Big gryphon returned to where Cross and Trails were standing. Once again he stared out at the horizon, though this time he occasionally snapped up some meat or took a sip of coffee.
All things considered it was not a bad start to a day.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Cross took a bit of food from the little kitchen Trails had gotten going, Cross didn't really eat too much since his head was making him naseous
"Better Trails, thanks for asking...." Cross didn't really want to converse he just wanted to hurry up and get on the road, but the two dregs still hadn't woken up yet.
Weird thing is. Cross only remembered going to sleep with Kestrel and Trails there, but couldn't recall anything about the other two

Ale was awakwned by the familiar smell of cooking meat, muttering something about a dissapointing lack of bacon he dawned his now dry lether armor, grabed some coffee and made his way over to the group to watch the sun rise.
"Morning" he said to nopony in particular.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
The morning found Arc in a state of happines. As the previous night didn't ended with his corpse adding more grim aestheticy to the Wasteland, he really coudn't complain about his current state, and the breakfast was a nice addition.
"Good morning, everyone. How are you feeling, Cross Roads?", he asked with genuine hint of concern in his voice, partially because he seen his date with a grenade yesterday, and partially because of the outburst of rage he shown to Gingerbread Ale.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
Ah so the Green Team was up. Good that meant that the group could start moving out soon. Kestrel finished off his coffee and radigator, leaving naught a crumb behind. It was not his favorite meal to eat, but it was filling and well prepared. Trails earned himself a nod of thanks for providing it.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
"Alright," groaned Trails, "let's get a move on fillies. We need to get back to Stableton and hit up my factory. I'm guessing we'll find some more ammo for that nade rifle if nothing else."
Trails put out the fire and swung his pack on. The sun was up, which meant he lost travelling in the cool early morning. Worse though was that it meant they were officially burning daylight, something Trails hated. He exited the building and started on his way, eager to get back home now.

Kes, already loaded down with everything he owned, began following after Trails without so much as a blink. The gryphon had nothing else to do, and raiding some old abandoned factory could prove fruitful. No telling what could be inside.

"Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so lets go.", thought Arc as he set himself for the trip back to Stableton.
"Nothing ventured? You're venturing your life for a promise of some valuable scrap or other junk. You are really a fool, aren't you Arc?", analytical part of his mind responded. Arc decided to ignore that thought.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
"Wait, factory?" Ale asked in confusion, then remembering trails saying something about nade ammo he came to the conclusion it was a weapons factory. "Shit wait for me!" He said as he begain to fallow the group, his head filled with the posabilities of useful salvage this factory could hold.

Re: Death has no Shadow [Ended]
The group traveled quickly with Trails spearheading them. His breakneck pace wore down on the greenhorns, and Cross, but made the trip a short one. Before sundown the rag tag caravan was outside of Stableton and only minutes away from the factory and all the loot they wanted. Before they could continue though a number of frantic ponies ran by.
Trails stopped one and asked them, "What's going on?"
"Slavers have been spotted round Stableton, we're going for a big militia meeting."
Trails turned to the group and nodded, before turning and galloping towards Stableton.
(thread ended due accidental repeating stalling to a halt."
