Ghosts of Arlingtrot: Plot Planning

This old field stretches for miles across a hilly landscape coated in brown, dead turf. As if to add to the creepiness, the location already filled with so much death from the grass to the trees to the bodies of ponies who had died there over the course of 200 years after the war, the location's purpose before the war was as the final resting place for the ponies who died during the war. Its a creepy place, filled with old ruins of buildings, memorials, and even crypts. The years of battle have added craters of explosions, skeletons, and treasures. The radiation from the war has added mutated creatures, and a fog that seems to cast a cloud over the entire place and never lets any light through. The atmosphere is always dark and gloomy, and spooky. In addition to this, thousands of ghost stories go around about the place. It is unlikely that somepony who has lived in the wastes for more than five minutes wouldn't know about it and its stories of ghosts, death, and treasure. It is said there that during silence, ponies can hear voices of the dead from before the war. Some have said they've felt strange presences, as thought they're being followed when they're actually alone- or have even felt themselves being touched, or breathed on. The stories also say the souls of those killed there haunt the cemetery as well... Slavers and raiders and wastelanders and mercs and treasure hunters, all who have died and are trapped for eternity. And that if you die there, your soul will also be trapped there forever to wander the open grounds of the graveyards without purpose. But these are just ghost stories, and ghost stories aren’t real... or are they?
