So, why not?
Each side story submitted to the project would be reviewed. Not only for spelling, grammar, ext, but for how it affects the universe. If it is unrealistic in the universe, modifies something major, or some other reason, it would either be booted, or the author would be asked to modify it and resubmit. Those accepted would be incorporated into a wiki/ and slotted into the timeline.
