Ponyshock: "Raven" Squad

"Open fire." Kes ordered already drawing his weapon and moving up to brace himself against the edge of the glass hallway. the generator room. If the ground shaking weight and the outline of the thing walking towards the team was anything to go by this was not going to be an easy fight.

Kes quickly turned down the volume on the Radio and tried his best to decipher the message coming through. From what he could gather there was something about a manual shut down of something that had to be turned off from external control.

That meant going outside. Into the sea. Kes was no idiot...the pressure out there would kill any normal creature in seconds.

But that was an issue do deal with later, for now there was the giant thing walking towards the team.

Kes steeled himself for the fight to come and quickly popped out from behind cover, taking aim at the thing just down the hall and opening fire. Sending three pieces of hot lead flying down range aimed at the unknown creatures body.

(Guns 100. Sniper Rifle. Three shots to the Big Daddy."

Zestari smiled when Kestrel gave a nod and allowed her to take the reinforced leather armour. She stood there and took her worn and somewhat tired leather barding off and stuffed it into one of her saddlebags in case it was required in future.

As Kestrel began to take a look down the walkway, she pulled on the reinforced leather barding, tightening the straps to ensure a good fit as she did. She rolled her shoulders; very nice.

She was still adjusting the armour when there was a dulled crumpling explosion and water began pouring in. A voice echoed something but Zestari was too distracted by the sudden flowing water to pay attention. Then there was a rhythmic thudding from where Kestrel was looking and he shouted out to the group to fire.

Her pistol was still on the ground while she fitted the new armour and in a fluster dove towards it, pointing it towards the hallway, ready to fire at whatever appeared.

(10mm pistol, Guns 25, luck 4, shooting Big Daddy when he gets in range, assuming I don't panic instead.)

Mona watched the strange creature approach down the hallway, her rifle immediatly lifted up the second the order to fire was given. She preferred shooting first anyway, it wasn't like she was able to negotiate very well...

With her Rifle ready, Mona then took a few steps forwards, just slightly in front of Zes, ready to defend her, but also not too much as to get in her way, should she fire.

Aiming down the sights, Mona aimed for the helmet, trying to center two shots for the glass viewport on the metallic creatures helmet, it would hopefully prove more vulnerable then that armour it was wearing.

"Alright then...", said Arc with little bitterness in his voice as he floated the bottles back to their shelves.

This, undeniably, heroic effort of attaing one's position was unfortunately ended when a sizeable explosion rocked the room.

By this time, of course, Arc noticed the hunk of armored death coming his way. He looked at his pitiful weapon, shrugged, and opened fire.

Amity had been remaining vigilant the entire time as the rest of the group came down into the room. Hearing the loud noises coming from down the hallway, Amity immediately shifted his senses to scan the area. When he saw the lumbering creature turn the corner and begin his assault, Amity didn't need to be told what to do.

Quickly whipping out his throwing knives with his hooves, he flapped his wings once to get some vertical air to aid him and threw three of his knives directly at the things torso.

Three shots rang out from Kestrel's rifle, blood exploded out the back of the Daddy's chest but he didn't hesitate in his charge, He shrugged all all other small arms fire...

The only other pony in the group who might've had the power to punch through the Big Daddy's armor, Mona..., met misfortune when she tried to pull the trigger, but the gun was now wet and broken... an unfortunate stroke of luck....

The big daddy was now about a good 30 yards from the exitway. He came to a screeching stop, the resistance of the water helping his halt. Blood continued to drip down from his chest as his gatling gun began spinning, and his other unusual weapon began firing...

With an unused hoof, he launched a grenade-like object that fell behind Zestari's position and it fell under the water as it continued to pour around the ponys' hooves....

Blazen woke up and felt the pressure of water down his throat... getting up he noticed how burned his left arm looked, it was completely black, hairless, and extremely painful to move.....

EXTREMELY FORTUNATELY.... for Raven squad.... when the gatling gun fired.... a large surge of water tipped the Big daddy and his aim came short (missed 8 rolls...)

However, his Armor Penetrating Rivet gun.... managed a 1 in a 100 shot.... and pierce straight through Kes's throat, bypassing his armor.... splattering blood on all his companions and throwing him back against a generator, his esophagus was now exposed and quickly bleeding out, but luckily he managed to keep his grip on his gun.(Adrenaline covers for one more round before reaction kicks in, I never saw this coming...you'll need immediate medical attention)

Kes felt himself get hit and his body go flying, hitting hard against the one of the generators. He felt nothing, adrenaline was pumping too hard, too fast.

He could feel the hot, wet, stickiness trailing down his throat though, and trying to talk was just pointless. Fuck, he was hit. Hit BAD.

Kes didn't let that stop him though. He just reached up with his free hand and clamped down on his own throat. Trying his best to stop the bleeding for now. With his other Arm Kes shakily pulled his rifle up and took aim. Firing three more times at the brute. He had to be quick, or else the shock would kick in.

Just like it had back in that damn time warp.

Arc ducked as the rivet flew near his head and wedged in something meaty behind him. He turned his head around and looked upon inside of Kestrel's neck.

Then Mona's rifle fell apart.

As the situation started to converge towards death of everyone in the group by drowning in lead, water, or in Kestrel's case, his own blood, Arc got an idea.

"DASH! THE EXTINGUISHER, GIVE IT TO ME, AND BE READY TO SHOOT IT!"

Blazen woke up sometimes, just barely opening his eye to see a few things happening and have a searing pain all over his body. He heard the talking of the splicer, hearing 'hes just like us now'. He didn't have time to stress about it and went unconscious, he even heard that Kes was willing to leave him behind, but that was from assumption due to hearing half of the sentence. When he really woke up, his body didn't have any pain, it seemed to be mostly focused on his arm, where he injected such a thing. He attempted flailing his hooves about due to the massive and incredible amount of pain in his arm and a bit of pain on the side of his chest. He heard bullets going off that sounded almost like a minigun. Blaze looked around, finding that he was alone and left behind, but not far behind. Maybe they didn't intend to leave him behind, just put him there for now and pick him up. If he got out of these damn bindings that was put on him then he would be able to actually walk.

He attempted to move his muzzle over to a hoof forced to his mouth, only to find that it was covered. He, as fast as he could, moved his muzzle up and down, slowly removing the mouth cover. As soon as he did, he threw up all across the floor, the throw up being mostly blood, feeling incredibly wrong everywhere on his body, he also felt a little different psychologically, but that only confirmed the fact that he was a idiot. Why did he take that damn thing? It was so suspicious yet he was so stupid to assume 'why the hell not' and take it. Now, he might be one of those...things! He looked at his hoof and seen that it didn't have any fur. He also smelled all the stuff he had eaten at once. He grunted loudly, and rolled to the side, away from the throw up. He bit the rope, or whatever it was, and when he removed it, he was greeted with almost a spasm in his hoof, where he injected the poisonous substance. He screamed inside his mind, only to know that nopony would hear him there.

He was comfortable with that. He attempted to get up but fell to the ground, finding that there was a binding on his backlegs too. He tore the binding up surprisingly quickly, and almost chipped his tooth in doing so. He didn't care, even if the group hated him completely at the moment he needed to help them as soon as he could, as if his life depended on it. And it infact did. He forced himself up, close to collapsing once he took a few steps. He attempted to gallop, but he fell to the ground and cried out as he hit the hoof he injected the substance with. It felt so fragile, the hoof. He knew it wouldn't break, but it felt so horrible to feel such a thing on one of his limbs. He looked in his saddlebags for a health potion, but found none. He got up again, this time incredibly standing despite how it feels.

He galloped, and he ran over to the group, some blood on his muzzle from what he threw up. He reached in his saddlebags for a certain melee weapon, his wrench that he picked up from the splicer. He looked so angry at the big daddy, so filled with rage that it could even attempt to attack the group, he growled. Before he could attempt to aid the group, he fell to the ground, his mind realizing again how much pain he was in, but he endured as much as he could. Finally, he fell to the ground in massive pain, but his mind registered as falling for just a few seconds, and he slipped and hit his head. He attempted to get up again, and failed.

Wincing under the fusillade of firepower coming from the massive hulking suit, she managed to fire a few shots towards it, and then had a moment of surprise as the bullets sparked and bounced off harmlessly. They were in big trouble.

Then things got worse as the suited thing raised a vicious weapon and a bolt of something tore into Kestrels neck, sending flecks of blood across the room as the force of the attack sent him crashing into a structure. Eyes wide with fear and concern, she watched as a river of blood began to stream from his throat. This was very bad. Faced with the prospect of losing a friend, she overcame her fear and, dropping her gun, she quickly sloshed through the rising water towards the griffon, hoping that the others in the group would be able to either kill or distract the metallic and rubber suited monster for long enough for her to help the griffon.

She reached into her bag and grabbed out a healing potion. "Drink this!" she yelled, pressing it to his beak. She then reached into her bag for a second healing potion to pour directly over the wound. Hopefully the two potions together would staunch the bleeding and severity of injury long enough that she could suture the wound or treat it more carefully.

In her panic to help Kestrel, she hadn't even seen Blazen awaken from his unconscious state.

(Actions: drop gun, head to Kestrel, Med 23 Heal Kestrel)

Kestrel had just finished firing his rifle when Zestari ran over with her healing potions and started practically shoving them down his throat.

He chugged the first one without much issue, and the second did its job in sealing up most of the hole in his throat and stopping the bleeding.

Already the wound was scarring up, and if Zestari had to sew it shut it could only get worse. Another reminder of pain for Kestrels canvas.

He still couldn't talk right, his vocal chords were still healing. And damn did they sting. He kept his gaze locked on the big thing at the end of the corridor though, he had to. Couldn't let that thing out of his sight for an instant.

Dash tossed Arc Weld the fire extinguisher. It flipped majestically through the air as it traveled safely from Galactic Dash's to Arc Wel's hooves. Never before had such a fine demonstration been made in the transfer of ownership of a fire extinguisher from a Pegasus Pony to a Unicorn Pony... Poetry... Pure poetry. It made Dash almost feel bad for a moment to let such a pristine fire extinguisher go into eventual oblivion, but it was a means for an end.

As Arc Weld had suggested, Dash whipped out his 357 at that moment. He then fired after briefly aiming knowing time was of the essence.

(Guns 78, Agility 8, .357 pistol, one shot at the fire extinguisher, and another at the Daddy's face.)

Mona felt a slight surge of panic when the Rifle failed to fire, but she didn't hesitate, strapping the weapon to her back as she drew her 9mm in one swift motion. Mona doubted the small firearm would even faze the metal beast, but she didn't have many options right now...

She would fire three shots from the handgun as she stepped backwards next to Kes, before speaking.

"This gun isn't going to work, I need to borrow your revolver."

She asked, hoping he wouldn't be fussy about the dampness of the city somehow getting into the rifle. Such an event had clearly been out of her control, after all.

(Guns 66, 9mm Pistol x3, Firing at Big Daddy)

Kes's held himself up, even managing to splurt two more shots on the Figure's chest. It emitted a loud moan, shaking the hallway... The figure took a step forward and its gun started spinning...ready to fire....until a flying fire extinguisher exploded, spraying white foam all across the monster's visor. He spun.... All his shots went wild, bouncing around in the hallway.

He tripped and rolled into the water, it was still really low but the beast's spasms indicated that the foam was slowing slipping off.

They bought time.... but not much.... Still, the diver suit appeared like it was struggling to get up with so much blood leaking from its chest. The small arms fire from Mona continue to deflect off him.

Zestari ran over to help Kes but with all the water spraying out she was just barely able to successfully administer first aid at this time....

The group had to come up with something quick...

Kes knew his throat was not totally healed yet, he had a few minutes to go before that happened. But he could move now, he could get back up on his feet and possible dish out some damage to this thing.

But first he had something else to do.

Reaching down into his holster Kes tossed the revolver towards Mona and nodded. He would be taking that back shortly.

Next he began advancing towards the monstrosity and took aim, moving around behind the brute, and keeping his distance, the gryphon opened fire on it twice; aiming at where the things heart should have been. At this close a range it should have been next to impossible to miss, but also kept Kestrel out of the range of any melee attacks the thing decided to throw.

His next objective was to try disabling the things primary weapon. That lethal armor piercing...bolt gun it carried. Kestrel had been tempted to pick it up and use it against the walking tank, but that would have been rather useless. It was far to big for even Kes to pick up.

Instead he activated his EFS and targeted the weapon, firing off another round at the device before he reloaded and took a few steps back.

He did not fire again just yet, waiting on Mona to see if her weapon could do a bit more damage before Kes picked up the heat once more.

Mona snatched the Revolver out of mid-air with her telekinesis, as she lowered the weapon towards the metal creature. She then followed Kes's lead as she stepped up towards the front and attempted to press the revolver barrel onto the view port of the Diving suit, before pulling the trigger and firing three shots from the high-powered weapon before it could get back up.

It was a very risky move, considering this thing could possibly swat her away easily if it got it's bearings in time, but right now, this thing needed to die ASAP, before it could fire that gatling gun again.

Blazen struggled to get up. His pain was going off the charts, he felt like his hoof was falling apart, he tried pushing himself up but the water wasn't helping. He remembered that he was completely out of ammo, and - wait. He also remembered picking up a 357 with some ammo also. He couldn't stand, but he could turn over. He turned over and opened the saddlebag with his gun, and grabbed it. He aimed the gun, but he shook his head and attempted to get up again. After a second, he did, and he aimed the gun at the porthole of the incredibly large creature, and fired.

Initially, Zestari was far too focused on Kestrel and his throat to pay attention to the Big Daddy. She wasn’t entirely happy by the progress of the potion and ideally would have liked longer to check that everything was healing correctly, but Kestrel pushed her out of the way when his throat was healed well enough for him to act.

Zestari turned towards the Big Daddy, who was in the process of getting back to his hooves. Oh, no, no, no! Kestrel and Mona appeared were combining well. And was that Blazen? She looked over at the brown pony wielding a revolver and snorted; she’d have words with him afterwards. She turned back to the Big Daddy. What if the combined gunfire still wasn’t enough?!

She dove towards the Big Daddy in an attempt to land on its back. She doubted that her well-aimed martial arts attacks would hurt it much, but she might be able to keep it from standing up and getting into a position where it might be able to bring its devastating weapons to bear.

(Unarmed 50, Luck 4, Strength 5, Agility 7. Trying to keep Big Daddy from standing up in a position to use its weapons.)

The extinguisher idea actually worked, to Arc's great suprise, and the iron giant went down, even though momentarily, and all of it's rounds missed. Still, it was no time to rest yet, as the monster started to collect itself from the ground for another round. As much as stupid it sounded, Arc's horn shimmered as he floated the wrench he found.

Kes managed to hit the beast twice more into its chest, but his third shot bounced off the rivet gun, ricocheting off the walls and loudly smashing against several airlock chambers... Mona and Blazen attempted to march up to the big daddy as well but other than a single one of Mona's shots which splurted out more guts and gore. The shots appeared to have little effects.

The big daddy moaned loudly as Zestari lept onto its back and managed to hold the Rivet gun from firing but was slammed against the glass wall as the big daddy stood up and began swinging wildly, it open fire wildly with its gatling gun as Arc unsuccessfully tried to jam a wrench in it. The daddy was fortunately becoming weighted down by the sheer numbers but he wasn't going down with out a fight.... He may have missed half his shots, but he was still fighting to regain his balance

Blazen, Mona, Arc, all took Gatling gun fire, Kes's armor deflected. The wounds were not serious however, they would all live. Mona and Arc were hit in the leg, the bullets grazing a jagged line across the edges of their limbs. Blazen on the other hoof just narrowly avoided getting a round embedded in his flank.

Something in the flowing water exploded near Amber, sending him flying against the current. He had a rather nasty looking burn from his leg and flank down but was otherwise ok. Zestari on the other hoof was now completely behind the creature and despite her headache could now use that position to her advantage

"Zestari. Move." Kes ordered out from his position in front of the massive hulk; voice still hoarse from the earlier damage to the gryphons vocal chords. By the Void this thing would just not die. Even a hellhound would have fallen by now. This thing? Hell this thing was a tank. It just kept getting up.

It was official now. This thing had to die, Kes was tired of fighting it.

The gryphons eyes went cold, colder than ever before as he attacked. His rifle came up to his shoulder, barking angrily as it spit out two fresh rounds of flesh eating .308. Each of the shots had been aimed for the unarmored creatures legs/upper knee. They tore through eaisly, like a hot knife through butter, splattering gore and sinew across the floodwaters that were still filling the room; staining them red and yellow.

The great beast roared out in pain and anger, raising its Gatling Gun again, the barrels just starting to spin and warm up for another burst of fire. But before they could start spewing their lethal payload Kes was already in front of the big daddy, drilling holes into him with those cold, lifeless eyes of his.

With his free hand Kes swung arm out, bashing the Daddy's arm aside just enough to avoid getting shot. The rounds burying themselves into the wall just beside one of the still surviving Glass Panes.

Kestrel then followed up by bringing that same fist around again to slam a full force blow right to the creatures midsection;putting all of his strength and mass behind it. If all went well the Big Daddy would buckle just a bit and put its weight on its fractured knees. Which would then give out with a stomach churning crack as they broke completely. Unable to handle the stress of such massive bulk after being shredded by the Gryphons earlier kneecapping.

Without so much as a word Kes used his other arm to jam his rifle forward like a spear, shoving the barrel into, and through, the broken porthole on the things massive steel mask. From there all Kes had to do was pull the trigger, which he promptly did.

Three times in a row.

If the thing could survive four direct headshots at quite literally point blank range, along with the damage it had taken earlier, it deserved to keep fighting. But Kes would be damned if he was going to stick around and keep this up. This fight had gone on long enough, and the team had the flesh wounds to prove it.

They did not however have the gear to fix all of that right now.

Amity tumbled and rolled against waters as he tried to regain his balance. Getting to his hooves however he noticed a burning pain down his left leg and flank and a good part of it had second degree burns all over it. He could also see that that part of his leather barding had been burned off, revealing his stud stamp.

This unnerved him greatly now. And although he was quite sure that many in the group didn't care to see such a mark on ones flank, he wasn't sure about the rest of the group who may question him for the interesting picture of a knife that was on his flanks.

Mentally reprimanding himself for thinking these thoughs, he still couldn't shake off the feeling. Picking up his katana he looked over to the group and slowly heading over to the group he held his katana in a ready state before checking the surrounding area for any other enemies. First things first though, he would go and pick up his three throwing knives.

Dash couldn't help but force himself to keep down a little of a laugh as he saw the fire extinguisher foam pop all over the Big Daddy's... Viewports. However, he had very little time to titter over it as the beast began spraying gatling gun fire all over the place. Dash had to duck into the steadily more watery floor to avoid being hit himself. He looked back and saw that several of his squad mates had been hit as well. Dash gritted his teeth, "Everyone alright?" he asked.

Two steps.
"Ow."
Two steps.
"Ow. For the love of Luna, first time i get shot and it has to be right in the ass! Yeah Dash, i'm okay.", though, the wound was much more painfull than damaging. Still, Arc found that his behind was a rather personal area to get shot to.

The group, it appeared, managed to best the metal moster, but the room was still filling with water at rather allarming rate. To Arc's great sadness, this probably meant there was no time to disassemble the thing, unless of course Arc suddenly turned into a seapony.

Arc moved to the other side of the blast door that separated the room from the rest of the facility, and observed the controls of the airlock. Seemed easy enough.

"Alright, ready to close the airlock!"

challenged yet again when he nearly got shot in the flank, and he fell
to the ground again. He should have never have taken that damn
liquid-tonic-thing. If he turned into one of them, he would not be
himself. He's risking the group by even being near them, as far as he
knows he may turn into one of those things immediately. As soon as that
thought sprung up, his hoof exploded with fire and pain, and he
attempted to put it in the water, but it didn't work. Even underwater he
could see the flame. He thought about it just going out, and
surprisingly, it did. He'd need to bother with this later, he had a
damaged leg and he could almost feel it going out again. He slowly
walked into the airlock and stood in a corner. They had the advantage on
him here if they decide to get rid of him.

It was their choice after all. It wasn't him to control emotions.
