==Personality==

Hex Nut isn’t very familiar with social norms, but tries to make up for it with an outgoing personality. A bit of a mad scientist, quirky and analytical, she is friendly to others, but won’t tone down her excitement about a new idea or an odd observation. Due to her naïveté, she’s usually curious rather than afraid in dangerous situations, and giggles at the ghostly whether it’s a good idea or not. Her hobby is making new things out of scraps, and if you turn your back for even a few seconds she’s likely to have something useful in her hooves (or completely useless but kind of shiny.)

==History==

Hex Nut’s parents, an adventurous repair pony and science unicorn from one of the stables, ventured out into the wastes. After years of wandering, they decided not to return and instead made a home in one of the abandoned dragon caves. Hex Nut was raised there, learning to make tools and weapons from scraps they scavenged. Her parents traded for what they needed with travelers who happened past their cave, but they kept the vulnerable filly hidden. As she grew older she ventured away from the cave often, trying to befriend the lizards that were so abundant in the mountains. She got her cutie mark making various devices for her pets, eventually making a nearly automated city for the small creatures in the area. Her parents attempted to reverse-engineer a pipbuck for her, but it broke soon after and she’s still searching for a way to fix what’s left of it (not much.) She often tried to figure out the mechanics of flight, and repeatedly failed at building wings for herself. Only when she was a teenager did her parents allow her to meet the wandering ponies they traded with, and she was so fascinated that she followed one group away from her home, eventually finding Equestrian civilization.
