The Milk Run (soldiers)

Brass looked through his binoculars again, the troopers seemed distracted. Now was there chance, he dropped the binoculars and started running for the Apartments.

"Move dammit." He barked back to the soldiers behind him.

Dash stocked his weapons as he made his way with Lightning over to the others. When Brass explained what his, Lightning and Sky's orders were, he opened his mouth to speak out against it, but Lightning's words brought him a little bit of confidence that he needed to not back-talk his orders. To Dash, it still didn't seem like a good idea. He would stand by his friend, however. As Lightning began talking again, Dash listened, as it seemed like the younger Pegasus Buck knew a little more about battlefield tactics than he did. Dash didn't worry that much about it, however. He nodded to Lightning confidently and readied his Hunting Rifle, "I'm ready to move." he said, following Lightning in the manner he had suggested. Whilst dodging fire, he fired his Hunting Rifle once.

Bakewell took off when Brass barked the order to move. She tried to keep up with the rest of the group, suspecting that running ahead would be suicidal, and that trailing behind would make her more of a target.

A part of Bakewell’s mind worried about her pegusi friends and how much extra danger they seemed to be getting assigned to them, but she forced herself to stop thinking. There was no way Brass would put the pegusi into a situation he didn’t think they could manage unless he absolutely had to, right? He was in charge, after all. That meant he was smart, responsible, and should be trusted.

The second Brass yelled move, Lightning nodded to his pegasi and one griffon squadron. Taking off into the sky, the young pegasus' last thought was, 'Please let us all come out of this alive...' Following Brass' orders down to the letter, he led the squadron around the building. The only thing he made sure to do though was to fly high. Hopefully, if they gained enough altitude, they wouldn't get shot at as badly. However, even a confident flier like himself knew the danger of attacking from the sky.

Once Lightning was in position, he nodded to the others, "Let's move!" Pulling a fast loop, he drew his 10mm SMG in one fluid motion and pulled into a sharp dive. Holding the trigger of his SMG down, he sprayed his clip at the Enclave before quickly pulling out of the dive and trying to gain as much altitude as he could.

Bone head unfurled his wings and got ready to fly, he turned to the ponies on the ground and said, "Don't get shot, your no use if your dead." And with that lovely bit of encouragement, the Griffion took to the sky and fallowed behind the other pegasi in his flight group.

When they reached their destination above the the enclave bone head readied lil miss and nodded to lightning before diving with the pony onto the unsuspecting tin cans. Once the blue pagasus finished his attack the old bird would single out one of the armored soldiers standing next to one of the tech ponies, "Good evening everypony." he would say as he dove, and bring his hammer down on the soldier's head before slashing at the tech with his new claws, then he would retreat into the sky.

Blast heard the command and galloped to the nearest position that he could see the enclave from and levitated out his Grenade rifle waiting till he had the best chance to hit as many of the enclave with one shot, and for the griffon to get out of the way so he wouldnt hit him as well. he called back "Night-Shade get up here!"

Night-Shade stood ground and aimed carfully at the enemy. He took 5 quick shots with his Marksmen Carbine, then heard Blast calling for him. Shade ran up to Blast's position and started to take aim again.

Once brass gave the command to move ale took off galloping towards the apartment building. "Don't get shot, don't get shot, don't get shot." The unicorn chanted to himself as he ran. Once inside he tried to locate a staircase or collapsed roof with a ramp of ruble beneath it, anything that could give him access to the upper floors. If he could get up high he would set up in one of those windows, if not then he'd have to fight from the ground floor.

Once set up ale would ready his new rifle and fire off as many well aimed shots as he could, trying to prioritize the more well armed enclave soldiers first.

Sky listened to the orders as she nodded back to flash and followed Flash around the bombed out building and towards the hill with her sniper rifle already out, she just followed orders and saw what lighting was doing. She quickly followed suit into his sharp dive, only to see what lighting was doing and copied what he was doing. a strafe run by the looks of it, like Sky even knew that was she doing but only followed Flash's example.

The strafing run did its job, distracting the Enclave from the rest of the group's movement. Bone Head led the charge, swinging his sledge at the head of the nearest trooper. However, rather than knocking them out cold like he probably hoped, it only pissed them off as it broke against their helmet. They and the remaining five fired on the gryphon as he flew by, causing him to crash to earth with smoke trailing from his burning feathers.

This set the tone for the rest of the strafe, rounds plonking off the Enclave's power armor while they returned fire. Both flash and Sky got his several times as they passed. How they stayed airborne as plasma splashed against their bodies was a wonder in itself. Flash's luck proved even worse as his gun seized up completely when he tried to fire (catastrophic jam). As a saving grace the final trooper's gun jammed as they zeroed in on the buck.

"Everypony, light it up." Brass shouted as the pegasi took flight, firing at them with his brush gun.

Dash had successful fired at the first thing that didn't have Apostolov colors for the day, but as he lifted his sight away from the scope on his rifle... He nearly dropped it from his mouth. Ahead of them were 6 armored Enclave Soldiers. All firing globs of blue-hot plasma at himself and his friends in the air. Dash dodged out of the way of one, then-, "Mother bucking 4th level of Tartarus!! Celestia! Luna! Bucking... Cadence!!!" Dash cried as he was hit multiple times. His armor took the brunts of the hits, luckily. He looked and saw in horror that Sky and Lightning had both taken that bucking Brass' words to heart and were in the process of complex maneuvers that looked like would draw them alot more fire. Sky appeared to be a little better off, but Dash knew he had to do something about Lightning. The other Pegasus wasn't as heavily armored as Dash or Sky were, and was likely going to need help.

Dash shot forward and pulled up, before almost tackling Lightning. Dash then beelined for the nearest cover with the younger Pegasus buck hopefully in tow, he wouldn't let all those Enclave get another round of free shots on him.

Lightning knew the entire thing was a bad idea from the start. That damned pony, Brass, was just trying to get them killed. And why not? They were fighting pegasi. Why not just send other pegasi to die first then send the others? So stupid. He should have just told the others to stay back and let himself do this. What made things worse was his 10mm SMG for the second time in an air-to-ground attack failed and jammed out horribly.

Lightning nearly dropped it as he swooped past the Enclave troopers, the whole thing moving in slow motion rather than fast motion. He could see plasma bolts flying up at them and then... searing pain. He bit down hard on his weapon as he attempted to quickly gain altitude, the plasma burning deep into his merc outfit and easily making it through. Somehow, the pegasus managed to regain his height but after taking a plasma shower so badly, the pain was obviously slowing him down. Lightning's flight, instead of his usual straight and clean pattern, he wobbled and failed to hold a steady pattern. His wingflaps were irregular and sloppy. The smell of burning flesh filled his nose.

Lightning's vision faded in and out a bit as he struggled to hold himself up. "Come on...come on!" he growled to himself. He mentally scolded himself for not getting more armor and walking out to battle with almost nothing. The young stallion knew that he was an easy and open target but he couldn't do anything about it. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black blur came flying past. Focusing on the blur, he recognized it as Galactic Dash, apparently trying to save him but instead, miscalculated by just an inch. Thinking back to the time when he traveled with Trails in the Mohoofe and watching Trails get injured but somehow managing to find the strength to smile and give him a sense that everything was going to be ok, he did the same thing back to Dash, simply putting on a light smile.

Sky really didnt like this plan from the start, they were going to fight enclave but what could she do she came to fight with these enclave and this was she got. No turning back as she saw the plasma bolts that came to her, she didnt even blink as she came straight to her. only to yelp as she was hit but soon got her bearings as she pulled back up in a sharp turn not to get attacked by the enclave, she hoped that the group behind them would be able to take out the enclave before she had any chance to get back in the battle. Pulling that stunt got her burned but she needed to get some distance before she could fire back at the enclave bastards, only to look around for a second to see Dash heading towards flash.

After a second the direction of the Enclave Trooper's became clear. One went after Flash, one after Sky, one after Dash, and one to finish off Bone. The final two followed the sound of Ale's shot and flew into the apartments. One landed right next to Bakewell, their plasma sting roaring to life as they slowly walked towards her. The other tackled Brass, driving him through a wall in the struggle.

Bakewell slowly began backing up from the Enclave Trooper that landed next to her, attempting to stay slightly out of the pony’s range even as it approached. Bakewell had never before seen a member of the Enclave this close and was sufficiently unnerved by the armor that made the equine look almost some sort of inpony monster, approaching maliciously from a darkened closet to painfully make the beige mare an example of what happened to bad little fillies and colts.

“Get back!” She gasped at the approaching figure, already knowing that he? She? It. Wouldn’t stop. Not until Bakewell was dead, not even then. Not until every single pony that had followed Trails into this war suffered and died. It was the cook’s job to stand between this monster of a pony and her fellow “soldiers”.

She didn’t exactly feel confident.

But she didn’t need to be, she just needed to hit as hard as possible and hope that if she died, it would protect her friends who in return wouldn’t forget about her or hate her.

Suddenly and without warning Bakewell charged, electric hooves flying as the mare desperately fought to protect herself and those around her.

Sky looked behind her as she saw the enclave fly up to the air in the edges of her vision, only to see one of them follow her. "What the hell!" Sky groaned out as she flew a bit more faster to get out of range of the enclave but probably knew it was a waste of time, but she needed a perfect time to fire back and now wasnt the time to do it.

one head rubbed his head as he pulled himself out of the dirt. "Well that could have gone better." He lifted lil miss only to see her head was hanging on by a splinter. Bone head's eyes went wide as his pupal shrank, "Those metal bastards." He said softly then he turned and screamed, "I'll kill them all!" The griffion was about to fly back into the mass of enclave soldiers when the pain finally hit him.

The old bird was no stranger to pain, in fact he rather enjoyed it, it reminded him that he was alive. But he knew that another stunt like that would likely get him killed. When he looked up he saw that the soldiers had dispersed and one was flying right at him. "Alright, come and catch me you fucker." The old bird shot into the air and started to distance himself from the enclave. As he flew he tried to dodge any plasma that the soldier would have fired and moved towards the other ground ponies, hoping that one of them wouldn't be to preoccupied and could give him some support while he prepared a counterattack.

Atriark cringed in horror as his winged friends and a gryphon he had yet to meet were hit heavily by enemy fire. Then, some came for the apartment. The zebra pressed against a wall, hopefully not being seen by any Enclave. There was no sense in being spotted and shot so bad he could not help others. He heard the metal thud of a Pegasus in Power Armor land nearby and knew somepony would be in trouble. But that gryphon had been hurt pretty badly. Hayseeds, he had even crashed. If anything, he needed help. But Atriark didn't have anytime to ponder, he had to act.

Setting his rifle down on the ceil of the window, the Stable 113 zebra hurriedly acquired Bone's antagonizer. He drew in his breath, held it for a moment, and pushed the trigger with his tongue.

Dash had been just inches away from Lightning, he had thought that he was going to be able to get him out of harm's way, but instead, his hooves hit nothing but empty air. Going too fast for him to make another attempt at it, Dash's pupils shrank to pin-pricks and he he rolled to look back at Lightning. The younger buck had seen his attempt, and was smiling. Dash knew the he had tried his best, except it hadn't been bucking good enough! Once again, Dash knew that he had screwed up, and now somepony alot younger than him was going to pay the price for it. Before he could watch the younger blue pegasus get riddled with more plasna, Dash saw the alien form of an Enclave Soldier appear in his vision, Dash swore and returned to his usual flight position. He hit the ground near some cover and swung about to face his adversary, the Enclave that his father had warned him about so many times before.

Blast had been close to firing but the Enclave all took off and spread out. "Luna be damned!" He watched the ones fly in the direction of the ruined building everypony was in."Shade they flew in find them at hit them before they can get anypony els in here!" Blast said putting away his Rifle and drawing his combat knife.Blast ran inn to find Brass wrestling with a Enclave soldier so Blast ran up and slashed at the Soldier.

Night-Shade listened to Blast's order's. Shade wouldn't let any enclave get up here. He saw spotted one and took aim. He did his best to aim for the head and torso are, and took 4 shots. As he fired he thought about Blast and the others now being targeted by the enemy. He would try to draw their attention.

"I CAN TAKE YOU ALL ON, TRY ME!" he yelled as loud as he can.

"Celestia Damn it." Ale cursed when both of his shots missed, and he took cover behind the wall to avoid being seen. He held up the rifle and figured he'd never be able to hit anything with it in it's current condition, after this battle he'd have to give it a serious overhaul.

“Get back!” The unicorn heard come from the next room over. It sounded like a mare, Ale quickly threw his hunting rifle into it's holster and levitated out his .357 as he galloped into the hallway and into the room adjacent to his. There he found a beige earth pony engaged with an enclave assailant. Ale readied his revolver but he couldn't fire while the mere was stood between him and the solider, he'd have to wait until she was out of the way. "Damn it, MOVE!" he shouted.

Blitz, having already drawn his broadsword as he waited for the time for combat, watched as others started taking shots. Then a couple of the Enclave ponies showed up and Blitz grinned widely, hearing Bakewell as she stood against one and attacked, Blitz dashed in to join the fray.

"Good idea, Bakewell! Time to test these new hooves out!" Blitz roared out as he would rush in from beside Bakewell to follow up her rather desperate strikes with his own hoof-blows, swinging his power hooves into the Enclave trooper with some form of righteous wrath.

Rodeo charged as ordered. He had pulled out his trail carbine and readied himself to fire. As he charged, he squeezed off a single round, then slid to the nearest cover he could find. Once there, he fired off two more rounds at whatever Enclave he saw first.

Shade turned his attention away from the Enclave troops down the ridge for a second to check on Blast Cap. He was unarmed! Other than his combat knife, which couldn't be doing much against that armor. Shade put down his gun and conjured up a shield in front of Blast Cap. Hopefully that would protect him from whatever the Enclave trooper would shoot upon turning and Blast could get away.
