She was always a very lovely mare, everyone she met enjoyed her personality. Mostly it was pony folk who came to her families garage for repairs to their things. Occasionally she met some nice ponies when she was in town getting things they needed for the shop. The few times a couple stallions took her for an escort they quickly learned not to mess with her. Thankfully her brothers and father had taught her self defense for when she went into town, since she got the best deals from the shops she would usually do all the shopping.

Her life was a fairly normal one as far as the wastes go. She was happy as a mare could be, until one of her brothers ran into some rather unfriendly types. He had gotten into some bad habits that ran him into a lot of debt. When he couldn't pay it they came to their father and demanded he pay them for his sons loss. Her father agreed but they had money issues of their own. Barely able to make the payments they lived as best they could with what little was left over.
One month they had a drop in business during one of the most busy parts of the year for them. Wondering if they might of had new competitors they sent Rach to go explore the town to see if anyone had opened up shop. As she walked around the town nothing was out of the ordinary, everyone was going about their business as normal. Saying hi as she walked she only wondered more about what caused the drop in their business. After she had walked around the whole town she returned home slightly puzzled.
When she got home everything looked fine on the outside, but still she didn't feel right. As she walked up she wondered why her little brother hadn't run out to meet her like he always did. It just wasn't like him to not meet her. As she opened the door she fell back in horror, her entire family had been killed and butchered in the shop. Horrified she turned and ran for her life, she didn't stop running until she was out of breath and on the verge of collapse. Looking around she saw the town was almost a spec on the horizon. Sighing she turned and started to walk to the next town she cam across. The scene she had seen that day was flashing through her mind as she walked, causing her to flinch every few steps expecting somepony to jump out and try to kill her.
