The Monolith

The Monolith. That name was well known amongst scavengers and traders, the rumours of a large tower in the wastes, nopony knows what it was before the war. And nopony knows what's inside, but the rumours that come from such a place are horrifying. Any scavenger will warn somepony travelling in it's direction to stay clear, for hell itself lurks within it's walls. Rumours spread of the dead walking the halls, of spirits haunting the building, whispers in the dark, and most of all. A opening to the pits of hell itself in the buildings basement.

Of course not everypony avoids this place after being told such things, and those ponies have never been seen again. The fate of those who entered is not known, but it is assumed they were dragged into hell by the buildings undead occupants. Though only those lost in the building know what really happened.

Rad has gotten wind of these tales. And as would be expected of him, wants to see for himself. He has travelled all over the wastes leaving notes and asking ponies in person. Some he knew, most he didn't, and most said no. But he hasn't given up hope, and still tries to get people to venture to The Monolith with him.

OOC stuff you need to know before joining!!!! READ THIS!!!!

This thread has a minimum level of 5, and a maximun level of 11.

In this thread you will experience hell itself. Most of the rumours will turn out to be true in some way. It will not be a nice journey and if this isn't the sort of experience you want your character to have. DO NOT JOIN.

People joining must be willing to stick through this for the whole thread, as once you enter The Monolith, you will not be able to leave until the thread ends.

I will not be choosing the first 6 to apply, I will be making my choices of who is coming out of all the applicants.

I am looking for 6 players.

This thread will not be starting until the one I am currently running finishes, and depending on how long that is, I may leave some time after that too, so if you are close to level 5 and reckon you can get there in say... 2 weeks or so. Don't hesitate to post your interest.

If your character has some sort of traumatic history that you think could be exploited in a place such as this, feel free to mention it, either in your post of in a PM, if you are chosen I may well incorporate it into the thread in some way.

As for fears/bad experiences/etc, Crackle is't truly terrified of much besides falling to his death, unable to save himself due to disabled wings. Not to say he's truly fearless, he'll crap his metaphorical pants just like anypony else if a sufficiently terrifying monster comes along, but falling to death is the only real phobia. If you want to mess with his head, though, you could always have him encounter things that bring back memories of his dead family or lost lover...

I'm up for it. As for any traumatic history. Ale did have a bad experience with raiders in his foulhood.

As for screwing with Collat, he's naturally haunted by those he's killed, seeing them in his dreams as nightmares, tormented by their cries of death. He remembers every face, every scream, and every bullet he's put in a pony's head. Give him a few hallucinations, that'll buck with his mind. He'll go insane.
