==Personality==
Personality: Sawdust is a closed pony, sometimes she comes off as shy in a Fluttershy like manner, cutely scared of things normal ponies are not, but this never lasts. The terror she feels is all consuming and the dark lonely place that is her life is making it all but impossible to recover from this fear of everything. She is quite thoroughly paranoid, everything is either a trap, out to get her or both.
She has rather substantial trust issues, stemming partly from her time alone in the wastelands and partly because of several 'friends' attempting to sell her out to Slavers. It was only due to her innate paranoia that she was able to avoid the slave collar. Her paranoia is coupled with a desire for companionship, she hates to be alone, but can't trust ponies even as far as she can throw them.
As a result of her extended periods of isolation and her intense desire to have friends, she has made an imaginary friend: Its physical form is that of a small unicorn doll the likeness of which is that of Twilight Sparkle. She is prone to talking to the doll, even when eminently inappropriate, particularly in stressful situations. She has been known to be 'talked down' by the silent stare of her doll.
She was destined to become a carpenter of some sort, since she greatly enjoys working with wood. However, her abruptly ended childhood has prevented her from reaching what would have been. Instead her mark came about as a result of a nervous tendency to whittle wood. She parleys that tendency into other ventures, carving wood nicknacks when scavenging doesn't bring in all the bacon.
==History==
Sawdust had as stable an upbringing as the Wasteland allows, which is to say, death was a constant companion and the sounds of gunshot have long since lost their fear inducing power. Her parents never managed to settle down anywhere in particular and so had seen much of Equestria before their daughter was born. Afterwards they roamed less, focused more on trying to settle down, an act that only yielded trouble.
Saw was only 12 when it happened, it started innocently enough a raider attack on the town her parents were in, but it dissolved into mayhem quite quickly. The Raiders were not of the burn and pillage sort. Slavers out for new meat. Worse than anything was the fact that the Slavers were well armed and prepared. They breached the front gate and tore flank through the town, putting collars on everypony they found. Seeing the situation going south and quickly Sawdust's parents did the only thing they could think to, they found a hiding spot for their daughter and prepared themselves to fight to the death to protect her.
And so they did, at least that's near as Sawdust could tell. The little filly was hidden inside a small wood stove, the sounds of the fight were distorted and distant. Her mother and Father had said their goodbyes to her and gave her their last orders along with ever last cap and bit they could fit in with her. She tried to not cry when she heard the slavers breach the door. When she heard the rapport of her father's shotgun or the hiss-crackle of her mother's attack spells she almost yelled her normal yells of support. When they went quiet she silently wept, because theirs were not the voices she heard coming from outside the stove.
In the end the slavers never checked the stove for anypony and a few hours after dark, covered in soot and still crying Sawdust emerged back into the wasteland. There were a few bodies and a gently glowing pile of ash, none of which belonged to her parents. The corpses were not nearly as scary as what she found outside, the town, once vibrant and filled with ponies, was now empty and quiet. A few of the building's had caught fire and burned down, their skeletal remains standing where almost nice houses had once been.
Shell casings and spent cartridges littered the ground along side more bodies. Fewer bodies however than the town had ponies. Many fewer. Sawdust knew that the raid had been a slaver one, the town guard had responded to it as such, her parents had informed her as such, but the reality of it only now began to sink in. She wandered around the town, going through the process she'd seen her parents go through, collect everything, divide it up into, useful, valuable and trash. Short Version, she looted the town, everything useful went with her, stuffed into her saddle bags.
The next several years were harrowing, she learned one thing above all else, how to go unseen. It had saved her the first time and it saves her still. She has had several close encounters with Slavers, escaping the collar by the skin of her teeth on more than one occasion. The first betrayal sparked up a healthy level of Paranoia, which became unhealthy with the second attempt by a different so called friend. Her paranoia causes her to deeply distrust ponies in general and led to her adopting a doll as her only 'real' friend.
A few years back while looting a small house on the outskirts of Manehatten, she came across a small floppy plush doll made in the likeness of Twilight Sparkle. Little Sparkle, is her only constant and she was driven to near ponycide once when somepony took her as a prank. She keeps the doll close at all times and is even somewhat identifiable because of the doll.
