The hunt for Waldo

Sparkfire's snout was covered in blood, hit teeth stained with gore. The smell of cooked meat filling his nostrils. A twitching pony laid before him, and another had his gun firing into his chest.  The bullets honestly hurt, by the pain didn't last long as his body was flooded with adrenaline. 

He trampled over the remains of the discarded pony and went for the one that was shooting him.

The Mercanary with the Battle Saddle unloads a three round Burst, after seeing what he just did to his friend. With a roar, Sparkfire feels the bullets tear into him, piercing his scales. Luckily he sticks to the plan and does not turn to reveal his softer underbelly to this pony. With Sparkfire out of the way, Sky aims for the heavily armed Mercanary's head and fires. Her target slumps over and falls to the ground. In sheer panic, the other mercanary unloads as many bullets into Sparkfire as he can getting 5 direct hits, but unlike his friend, his bullets do little to pierce his dragon hide. The dragon charges forward, pouncing on the panicked pony and pins him down. He rears his head back and lets loose a focused, blue flame, aimed at his victim's skull. It does not last long as he can feel the pony squirm and kick for his last few seconds, until he goes limp... his head no more.. He snarls, the air filled with the stenched of cooked meat.

Sky ejected her spent round for another, she was happy she got to kill the pony with the battle saddle. But now she wanted to help spark by taking out the raider attacking him, Spark seemed to have taken alot of damage. And she didn't want Spark to take more damage than he already has, With her hunting rifle she aimed at the raider. She was ready to kill the the raider, so she pulled the trigger and fired the rifle.

Sparkfire turned to see that the bloodied pony had level his gun at him. He had been strangely out of breath and felt weak... those bullets must have hit him harder then he thought.

He could see the pony about to bite down and activate his battle saddle, when a shot pierced the silence and his skull. The battle weary pony was no more...

Sparkfire turned once more to see where the shot came from, luckily it wasn't another raider with a grudge or a jealous husband. Instead it was his Sky, his partner. He flashed a smile, happy that the adrenaline was gone but also missing how it propped him up...

He did his best to stumble over to her, not thinking if somepony from afar was watching.

Sky watched as he bullet hit the pony's skull, she only grinned as she did her part in killing the raiders. She felt happy that she was able to kill the raider before they hurt spark even more, then she noticed it. Spark began to stumble towards her, he was not looking good right now.

"Spark!" Sky yelled as she ejected her spent round and reloaded her rifle, as she put the gun on her back she ran towards Spark. "Are you ok spark?" Sky asked as she got right next to the big dragonm to see his wounds.

Sparkfire coughed, and put on a brave face with a weak smile, "I've been better but it is going to take a lot more then just a couple of rounds of burst fire and a auto fire to take down the likes of me..."

He straightened out his back, letting a few bullets that were caught in his scales fall out, then he clutched his ribs and winced. "Ugh, I'm okay, lets just get going..."

Sky didn't like to see spark like this but who was she to tell him to rest, Anymore damage and she will make the dragon rest. "if you say so Spark, i want you to rest after all this is done. i don't want a friend to die," Sky said as she now walked along side the dragon, to see where the location of this Waldo was.

Now she lead Spark through the ruins of the small town, to Find the pony and finally get this bounty done. if this day doesnt get any bad, For some reason she didn't want to see spark hurt. She...saw something in him she couldn't explain, And now she didn't want to see him hurt or killed. And so she lead him on, to get Waldo.

Sparkfire nodded, he was in pretty bad shape, but he was still had a job to do and a mare to protect...

He followed the mare as she watched her pip-buck. Trying to keep his mind off his injuries...

"Next time, I think we best just pick them off from afar and I'll just learn how to breathe fire from a longer distance."

"yeah next time lets take them from afar, and yeah i think you do need to make your flame go a longer distance." Sky said as she walked forward to the site Waldo, not to far but a bit more walking and they will be there. But now she had to protect Spark, he doesn't look to good. But he still went on and so did she, they had to finish this and get some rest.

Sparkfire walked back to the corpses, they did look tasty, but shook his head instead... they did not have the time for a snack, even if it were fresh, he needed one aaand nopony was around. Well almost nopony, Sky was still around, and he did not want to offend her like he did to Sawdust. Poor pony is scared to even utter his name...

"Say Sky, what would be good to take with us... I haven't used guns and I know that you do..."

"I think that battle saddle with the trail carbine will do nicely for me, the other weapons...not much use to me, though if their is extra bullets in their bodies. Ill whatever they else they have that is bullets or health potions, they are raiders and dont mean anything to me." Sky said as went to grab and dawn the battle saddle from the dead raider, with the trail carbine. Sky could get used to this, and maybe it will fit her hunting rifle if she got put it on it.

Sparkfire made a note of it, "I don't know a lick about how to install them, but I don't mind carryin it for you." he said as he tried to pick up the saddle and gun only to find that they were still connected to the pony. He frowned then cocked his head at the small blue Pegasus, "Are you saying that you don't mind me eating them?"

He really hoped so, he could use that extra strength and it would not cost the duo anything... Also it might make it easier to remove the battle saddle.

Sky looked over in confusion, "yeah i dont mind you, these were filthy raiders. They aint ponies once they were raiders, they are just things who look like ponies." Sky said to the dragon, "Well then if you cant take off the battle saddle i guess, just eat him. Like he didn't deserve it in the first place." Sky tried to show her judgement to Spark, she really didn't mind him eating the raider.

Sparkfire shrugged, he couldn't argue with that logic, not on an empty stomach and especially not if it meant he could eat something to recoup some of his strength. He tore into the pony shaped monsters and did not bother igniting or roasting the meat. The Raw meat wouldn't hurt him, but the smell of cooked meat and smoke would...

After about ten minutes he had finished his fill and smiled to Sky, forgetting that his muzzle and claws were cover'd in blood, his teeth stained with gore, his breath bathed in death.

"Ready when you are Sky!" he said in a cheery mood that only a recently fed Dragon could summon.

Sky nodded, not really caring if Spark was covered in blood from the raider. She didn't mind Spark actually eating the raider, she watched in a mere curiosity. How a dragon could eat and she wouldnt care about it, just something that didn't really catch her thoughts.

She looked up to the Dragon with his claws and mouth still in the bloody state, looked up to Spark and gave a nod. "Im ready also, oh and dont forget to get the battle saddle. That might come in handy, if i ever need to fire two weapons at a somepony." Sky said as she looked for the next direction to go, with her pipbuck showing the way. "Guess we go this way?" Sky said as she pointed a hoof to the direction, bit unsure what might happen.

Sparkfire blushed, he had nearly forgotten, right as he reached for the battle saddle, he felt a sharp burning pain in his hand.

looking up he saw an Earth pony flanked by two others emerge from what he thought was wreckage, all dressed alike, A red and while stocking cap, a battle saddle with an energy rifle, and a scowl.

Speaking in unison, "Lay your hands off of that battle Saddle, I'll need it to replace one of my dupes later! Now you can either submit yourselves to Waldo and you can live in his Image or DIE!!!!"

Sky looked at spark get attacked by the earth pony, With a quickness. She pulled out her hunting rifle aimed the earth pony, A bit of rage in her eyes. "No pony hurts my friend Spark and gets away with it, also your uniforms and waldo can go to hell." Sky said as she fired her hunting rifle at the earth pony, starting the battle with a shot.

Sparkfire watched as sky dropped down and fired her rifle. The distinct sound of a bullet ricochetting off of metal was heard as the pony's head jerked back. In respond the other two resounded, "foolish pony, all will join Waldo, Waldo is eternal, Waldo is power." as they began to unload on the duo. 

Thinking quickly, Sparkfire stood up and spread out his wings to shield Sky then he poured a layer of some suppressive fire of his own. He was rewarded with sharp pains in his legs, arms, wings and chest as the laserfire connect. He roar'd in pain but managed to growl out. "Run Sky, find cover, I'll follow!" 

The dragon's fire burned away at the two ponies hat and bathed their skin in third degree burns, which they hardly noticed. Underneath those hats were metal plates and saw'd off horns. 

Sky saw the ponies, they had metal armor. No reason to Stay here, and Spark was right. She had to get out of there and Find cover quick, Sky got back up and ran to the nearest spot that offered cover. Only to hide behind a few wrecked carriages, hoping that would offer enough Cover for her and Spark. If it even covered Spark, but hmm being a bigger than her that had some protection.

Sky dived behind and pulled up her hunting rifle, Aiming at the Armored ponies. "Spark get over here quick, they have to much armor."

Sparkfire did not have to be told twice, those "bullets" hurt and burned unlike any other munition he had experienced before.

He tried his best to kick up some dust with his wings but through the dust storm, he was rewarded with more shots at his large wings. He roar'd in pain, "RRAAAAWWRRRRgghh. That hurt."

Seeing his attempts to disorient the mechanical Waldos fail, he followed Sky's advice and tried to find some better cover.

Sky held out her rifle and looked at the robot waldos, no way this waldo was a normal scumbag pony, He was something else. In the end she got out of cover and aimed at the robo ponies, as she hoped she was able to kill on of those things.

"Eat lead robo freaks." Sky said as she fired her hunting rifle, as she tried to buy some time for Spark to get to get to cover.

Sparkfire crawl'd his fastest to cover, he could hear the reassuring rapport of Sky's Rifle. Despite his best efforts, he continued to feel the stings of the rapid fire shots of the Waldo's energy rifles in his wings...

He finally reached the cover and pressed his back against the stone wall without thinking. Then the pain was absent in his wings... he looked over his shoulders and found that they were still there, just numbed.

KaPow! The Rifles round lands deftly on one of the Waldos bringing him down. Despite this, the other two just continue their assault on Sparkfire and the cover that granted him asylum from pain, leaving Sky to continue.

Sky looked over to Spark who was in cover and smiled for a second, he was safe for the time being, but they needed a good way to kill off those ponies. her shot got one, but she grinned. "Got one!" Sky said as she got out of cover to fire another round to the robots, A silent prayer to Luna that she would at least take another one out.

Sky continued laying down the lead, correcting as she needed to. Eventually her shot rang true, and another Waldo went down.

As for Sparkfire, he tried his best to return fire with his breath, but was pinned down pretty hard.
