Firebase Bravo (Stalliongrad Main Hub)

Ale let out a victory yell as both his targets fell out of the sky, blood trails steaming down to catch up with their host. "Great kid now don't get cocky." A little pony in ale's head said as large explosion nearby brought him back to the gritty realization that this was a fight for survival. Ale turned the gun back towards the sky and picked out two more enclave, if it worked once then it should work again.

Kestrel felt his muscles clench for a moment, something apparently causing him pain....or it would have, had he actually felt anything. Whatever had hit him had sent caused his ears to ring terribly, and his vision was a bit blurry as well.

The griffon shook it off and kept moving though. He didn't have time to stop as out here in the open, he was just another target. Trails and Hangfire had the bomb now, and they were already moving on.

Kes switched gears and accelerated briefly before dropping back into that powerful, click eating pace that kept him right there with Hangfire and Trails.

Dash looked over the DShK he had been assigned to. From the training his father had given him, along with his past experience. This thing was indeed terrifying, but it quite underwhelmingly old. Sort of like using a steam engine to pull a piece of plasma artillery, it did its job just fine, but why not something newer? Dash shrugged off the thought and fed the belt of high ammunition into the weapon. He looked over to his fellow heavy gunners before redirecting his attention as the firing began.

Dash looked through the reticule up at the approaching Enclave soldiers. As he picked one out of the group he paused for only a split second. Seeing the Enclave soldiers charge them could only make Dash wonder, how many of them were put up to this by their commanders with not all that much thought for their lives? How many of them were just kids serving out their required service, hoping to return home soon? How many of them were like Dash's own father, capable of seeing past the stigma the Enclave had against the surface world?

But it didn't matter anymore. The ponies clearly wanted him and his friends dead, and that was not something Dash could allow. He cocked the machine gun and fine tuned his aim before opening fire himself.

Scraps slowly stood up, shaking his head to try and clear the cacophony of bells that was currently playing Bethoofen's third symphony on his head. Blinking the blurry vision away, he winced in pain and surveyed the scene.

It looked like he was the last of the group to awaken, aside from the ponies from the engineering corp-who wouldn't be getting up any time soon-so he didn't waste amy time on getting a move on, pulling a health potion out of his pack and drinking it-just in case he had some internal injury as a result of the blast-as he followed Trails.

The dishka proved to have quite the kick to it. The first burst from the massive gun was sent off target by it's own recoil. But the griffin was able to quickly correct for the kick and send the second burst clean through another pegasi. A smile crept across his face. "Oh you are just a treat." he said to the gun. "Wonder if I can get you to fallow me home. He mused as he already started to formulate ways of improving the bone yards defenses with these wonderful mounted monsters. He pointed the gun up again and looked down the sight, lining the bits up on another enclave trooper, and giving the triggers a couple of quick squeezes.

Breeze gasped as a pony in the line on her own side was killed in a single shot. Without thinking much, she galloped to the dead pony's spot and grabbed his gun. She immediately started shooting. Like hell would she just sit back and watch her comrades die.

The bomb site was close now, only a few hundred meters separated them from it. A few hundred meters and every Enclave trooper in Stalliongrad it seemed. Mil dot fired his AMR almost constantly, doing his best to keep the onslaught of plasma fire the squad faced a light rain instead of a torrential downpour. Mags fired wildly, her bullets failing to do more than distract their targets from the bomb carriers, but that was enough.

A hundred meters at most now, Mil Dot called out that he was swapping to his secondary, out of ammo for his big gun. They were directly beneath the hole in the cloud cover now. The Troopers above swirled like a great tornado of plasma and power armor while they waited to be sent out to the battlefield. Almost in unison dozens upon dozens of the terrifying soldiers swooped down on the squad they finally reached the bombsite. Before the team could so much as think of firing at their attackers, they were bathed in the sickly green glow of plasma fire.

The volunteer soldiers of Stableton kept up the pressure as every possible nightmare came true. Everyone got pieces of the enemy horde as they flew over head. Flash and Dash coordinating fire to make sure nopony got through them. Then it all fell apart when Bonehead's Dishka jammed, opening a hole for the a few troopers to fly through. A mercenary that for some strange reason felt compelled to wear a pinstripe suit and fedora in the middle of a war zone hopped up from where he was smoking to fire wildly at one of the troopers with his .45 SMG. The bullets did nothing more than agitate the pegasus who laughed darkly before turning the wannabe gangster into a puddle of goo.

This set the pace for the next few minutes, mercenaries and soldiers jumping up to try and regain lost ground before being turned into plasmic goo. With all this chaos it didn't take long for the trenches to collapse into complete disarray.

Trails coughed as he slowly got back up. Twice now in as many minutes he'd been nearly blown up. This...sucked, really fucking sucked. He shook himself and blinked away the lingering flash blindness. It took his mind a moment to catch up, clicking back into high gear with the thought 'oh yes war.'

"Scrap, get that bomb armed ASAP." He yelled while spinning up his twin miniguns.

Scraps swam back to consciousness, blinking the swirling stars and residual flash as he stood back up, a jolt of pain shooting through one of his legs, but it was manageable. Shaking his head to clear the haze he prepared to run again, not worrying about internal injuries this time. But that was quickly changed as Trails told him to arm the bomb.

For a second Scrap panicked-he wasn't a bomb pony! He had no clue how to work with explosives! After a few second of this panic he gathered himself and sprinted over to the bomb, amd frantically started to examine it.

Lightning watched as his bursts cut through the Enclave lines like a scalpel. He couldn't help but smile a little to himself for such a nice shot but apparently, his efforts and the efforts of his friends weren't enough as soon, the enemy pegasi broke through their ally's frontline. Gritting his teeth, it quickly dawned on the stallion that if they did not minimize the damage, they might be dead in a few moments.

Lightning would look toward his friend, Dash, who was also firing up into the air with his gun. They had to coordinate their fire and stop the Enclave now. "Dash! Let's try to funnel them with our gunfire! You fire toward the left, I'll fire toward the right!" He would look toward the others around them and shouted as loud as he could, "The rest of you, concentrate your fire down the center! Take down as many as you can! Our survival DEPENDS on it!"

Dash looked over at Lightning when he suggested a tactic of herding the Enclave Soldiers into a tighter group to make them easier to hit. He was impressed by the idea because it was a fairly military way of thinking considering Lightning's background. Also he had just been thinking the same thing, "Yeah!" Dash said enthusiastically, readying his gun for another volley "But they're trained to deal with that kind of scenario, so be careful! Don't push them too hard, too quickly or they'll use a Javelin-Pattern charge! I don't think we'll be able to hold one off with these!"

Shit things where getting real bad real fast. The enclave where braking through, if ale and the rest of the ponies on the big guns didn't do anything then fire base bravo would be a big glowing crater. Luckly one of the other bucks had already formulated a plan. "Right." ale said in acknowledgment, turning his dishka skyward once more and unleashing a furry of hell and fire. "HOLD THE LINE!" the unicorn yelled over the sound of coordinated machine gun fire.

Bone head was in his own little world, it was just him, the enclave, and sheila, yes he named the damn gun. Bone was entranced as more and more enclave fell out of the sky only for it to suddenly stop. Looking down the griffin saw that the gun had refused to continue firing, "OI what's wrong girl?" Bone asked as he started to inspect the gun, completely oblivious to the war being waged around him. After what seemed like an eternity, he found the problem, one of the rounds was not fitted into the belt properly and jammed the gun. "You really need to watch what you eat there sheila." he scolded as he pulled the bad bullet out at reset the belt. Once the gun was operating normally again he pointed it back at the nearest enclave solider and pulled the triggers, not letting go until the pegasus aggressor was mush.

Kestrel grunted, pulling out his Hellsing and looking around for cover, and the targets. He had to defend Scrap, the kid couldn't take any heavy hits and this bomb had to get up and going.

Fatigue was catching up quick though, even with this new armor shielding him from the war outside.

Trails' miniguns roared almost constantly as he struggled to keep up with the mass of troopers swarming them. Smoke curled from the barrels as they spat out a sea of white hot lead. Hangfire's grenade machine gun thudded explosives the size of soda cans into the enemy's chest pieces, turning them into red confetti in a flash of fire and shrapnel. Mags, Kes, and Mil Dot Stood within the perimeter the two big earth ponies struggled to maintain and took pot shots at anypony they could. At this rate they were going to run out of ammo before anything.

"SCRAP ANY TIME WOULD BE JUST DANDY!" Trails roared, struggling to be heard over the drone of the battle.


Almost on queue the bomb's ancient lights flickered to life, followed by a small display reading: Armed: Detonation in 3:00. They had three minutes to put as much distance between them and the massive WMD as possible. Certainly not the best odds to play with, especially if your name's Happy Trails. Still, there was no way in hell they were just gonna sit here shooting the breeze with a bunch of powerarmored fucktards waiting to be incinerated. Hangfired punched open a hole with a rocket pod strapped to his back and led the rush out.

Two minutes. Trails had given up on firing their pursuers. He couldn't keep up the pace and fire a shot capable of hitting anything smaller than an ursa major. One minute. They were halfway to the factory, a squad of troopers still bobbing and weaving inbetween buildings after them. 30 seconds. Trails and Hangfire wrenched the massive door open.

"GET THE FUCK IN!" The big earth pony roared. He slammed it shut, catching a few harmless bursts of plasma in the chest just before hell was unleashed.
