The Beginning of the End [Closed]

Sky saw the rift opening up and out came alot of weird things that looked like Marcus, First thing they do is shout out about killing us. Not good, Sky immediately pulled out kes's 10mm Smg. She knew staying in one place for to long will have alot of weird thing shooting at us, Bright side they at least got to kill something.

(Roll to shoot the group, x3. Guns 84)

"Fuck this." Kes thought to himself, drawing his sniper rifle and leveling it out towards the enemy. It barked twice, sending its lethal payload screaming downrange towards one of the largest enemies.

Then as Kes began inching carefully towards cover it barked thrice more. Sending two rounds towards what looked like the leader of the group, and one at one of the crazy things carrying twin 10mm SMG's.

Out of ammo Kes would be forced to reload once again, an easy feat no doubt. But hopefully the others would be able to start mowing down the others so he could do so and not get attacked.

(Guns 100. Sniper Rifle. Firing twice at a Tank. Twice at the Leader. And once at a Ravager.)

Scrap ducked behind the nearest form of cover after the group of non-green not quite super mutant things started to shoot them. On the bright side of things at least they had enough allies to probably overcome the new threat.

He drew his lightning pistol and sighted it up upon one of the enemies that was menacing the group with duel SMGs and fired a bolt if electricity towards the raider. When his gun's spell matrix allowed him to fire again he sent another bolt of lightning lancing toward the thing.

(Energy Weapons 50, rolling to shoot a ravager x2)

Gritting through the pain of the dimensional flux merging more realities, Cross squinted to the corner of his sight, and saw a mass of ape-like figures emerge from the rift. He was finally glad he managed to get the mercs on the same page, with their help, the combined groups should make quick work of these lanky apes. Growling, Cross looked to the positioning of the courtyard and quickly made his choice.

The ones with loud weapons sounded dangerous, the others could take care of the ranged ones, but the Ripper-like devices could be deadly....

*FLASH* Cross stood off from the side of the charging group, hoping to flank them and stay out of the killzone from the majority of them. Hoping in their bloodlust they wouldn't notice one them go down.

Zestari watched in horror as more monsters from outside her imagination warped in. The negotiation with mercenaries might have been slow but was at least working, this would set everything back. This megaspell was going to doom reality in its entirity at this point. Her eyes widened in fear as instead of pausing tho get their bearings, the things attacked as soon as they had refound their feet.

Hastily drawing her pistol she flicked from target to target. "Who do I shoot?" She yelled backing away as much as she was able, before squeezing a few shots from her 10mm towards the ravagers.

(10mm Pistol, luck 4, 25 guns, shooting at ravagers)

Techno winced as reality pressed it's pain into his own head as the rifts opened and spat out more things that wanted to kill them. "Why do they almost always want to kill us..." he said to himself as he fired up his magic and put a low wall to be used for cover by the group. After the shield was established, he rushed behind it and fired two bursts of energy at the legs of one of the armored ones, hoping to take out its mobility. "Zesty, keep whoever charges the shield away!" he called, giving the zebra a directive.

(Magic 48, shielding, 2x magic blast at one of the tanks' legs.)

The second the new threat emerged, Shutter jumped into his usual battle tactic of...well...hiding, as he aimed to slip behind some nearby cover, so that he could draw his gun, as well as assess the situation.

While he couldn't be sure if he was hidden or not, Shutter tried to look out on the opponents...they looked like those 'Super Mutant' things...but not as big. To be honest, what they most reminded Shutter of was Raiders, with their armour that looked very pieced together out of random things, and their very off eyes, usually the result of being high out of their mind...

Shutter shook his head, trying not to think too much on the subject. Right now, he needed to make a shot at those things before someone got hurt! As he slipped out his Pistol, he aimed for one of the ones wielding SMG-looking Weapons, hoping that if he was hidden, that he could start off with a well-aimed shot.

Kestrel's shots rang out, splattering the brains of the Tank and the Ravager, but missing the Leader's head by mere inches.

Two of the mercenary's Lancers charged towards the enemy, trying to duck and weave through their fire. One wasn't too successful, and got shot up by a Ravager before he could do much. The second one managed to get to the Leader, slashing the spear across the thing's chest, but the Leader didn't even seem hurt as he disemboweled the pony with his massive chainsaw.

Cross reached out and ripped one of the rippers out of the hands of a, well, Ripper. The thing seemed stunned at the weapon floating in front of his face, and didn't even get a chance to shout before the weapon was stabbed into his face and tore it to gory bits.

One of the Rippers charged towards the group, heading for the remaining Lancer. He tried to slice the pony apart, but only managed to slice a chunk out of his shoulder before a spear went through the bottom of his skull and quickly ended his life. The Lancer didn't seem to be looking too good after that though, the chunk taken out of him was not a small one.

The final Ripper didn't seem too happy at Cross for stealing and killing one of his buddies, and charged screaming at the unicorn. Cross only had enough time to jump back a bit as the thing slashed, but the thing still hit, although not as badly. However, considering the hit tore a gouge through his chest, completely ignoring the armor, that's saying quite a bit. Cross didn't just take that lying down though, and managed to decapitate the thing with his own stolen Ripper before it could tear into him again.

One of the metal armor wearing, shotgun carrying things charged towards the group, with 'Iron' charging too to confront it. The thing raises his shotgun and fired, but the pellets just scattered across the pony's armor, who laughed and did the more sensible thing, mainly shooting and evaporating the thing's unarmored head with his own shotgun.

Shutter managed to get around the things to try to flank them without being seen, and his sneaking skill was rewarded when he blasted the brains out of a Ravager, sending the thing falling to the ground.

One of the mercs with a hunting rifle aimed at one of the dogs and blew apart the mutt's head, pulling back the bolt as he looked for another target.

Techno found that he didn't even get a chance to knock over the tanks with his magic, as Kestrel and Iron managed to eliminate both of them quickly. His shield didn't fair too well either, going down in just a few hits.

Sky's aerial attack hit and wounded many of the things, but as she wasn't concentrating her fire none of them went down from the attack. Some of them didn't even seem to notice, most likely due to the drugs they were obviously on.

A bolt of lightning streaked across the field from Scrap's pistol and hit one of the thing's directly in the upper chest, the blast completely vaporizing its lungs and killing it before it even had a chance to hit the ground.

'Eagle' took aim with his own hunting rifle, aiming for the Leader with the giant chainsaw. However, like Kes, his shot missed the thing's head, impacting a wall behind him.

One of the Ace's took to the sky along with Sky, except she actually concentrated her fire and managed to rip apart one of the shotgun wielding things.

As everypony was doing quite well in the whole 'killing the...things' thing, Starry found that the first thing she was able to attack...Was the leader with the massive chainsaw, who was clearly surprised when the a magical talking unicorn lunged at him with a sword. "What the fuck is this shit?" he yelled as he just barely blocked the mare's attack with his chainsaw, before pushing the mare back, using his larger size and the weight of his weapon to his advantage, to give himself some room. Luckily this action didn’t slice Starry’s sword, or herself, to bits. However, if she intended to take him on, she’d have to be careful.

Two of the hammer-wielding things charged towards the group, a common theme it seems today. However, before they could get very far, the ground quaked under them and a familiar clawed hand came out of the earth and grabbed one of them by the leg, before dragging him under. A sick, squelching sound followed, before a bloody Lorg popped out of the in front of the remaining Berserker. To say the fight was short would be an understatement, as all it took was one slice of one of Lorg's claw to turn the thing into several meaty chunks on the ground.

The other dog managed to avoid enough gunfire to reach the group, and dived towards Zestari before the zebra managed to get any of her shots off. Fortunately, the dog completely missed the mare, giving her ample time to aim and unload her entire pistol on the mutt...Except every one of her shots missed, somehow. Which gave the mutt in question ample time to lung again and start tearing at the mare with his teeth and claws.

The remaining shotgunners, besides Iron, on both sides charged at each other, shotguns ringing out as they fired their weapons. Both sides dropped dead as they ended up mutually killing each other. Somehow.

The two remaining Berserkers found themselves facing one of their worst nightmares, a Super Mutant with a much bigger hammer then their own. If they weren't so drugged up, they might have considered praying, however, sadly even if that was the case, one of them wouldn't get that chance as Marcus' hammer reduced him to gory chunks. Before he could do the same to the other, however, a burst of gunfire came from the sky and tore him to bits. Marcus narrowed his eyes and looked up to see the blue pegasi merc, SMGs on her back smoking. "Sorry, uh, whatever you are, but I couldn't let you have all the fun!" she said before dashing to help finish off the others. Marcus just sighed and facepalmed.

(To recap, many of the mercs are dead or wounded, but so are almost all of the Fiends. The only ones left are the Leader, currently fighting Starry, and a dog, currently seeing what Zebra tastes like. Someone may want to do something about that, I’m fairly certain Zestari needs her internal organs. Probably, can never tell with Zebras...)

(That was a joke.)

Seeing that the teams secondary medic was currently getting gnawed upon by a rather vicious dog Kestrel took aim at the thing and fired twice before popping out around a corner and taking aim at the Leader of the Fiends once again, emptying the rest of his magazine in his direction.

He then dropped back into cover and reloaded his weapon, preparing for further assault if need be.

Sky reloaded the Smg, Seeing as her shots didn't mean anything to them. But to see most of the those things dead was a plus on their side, With Starry fighting the lead and zestari getting chewed on by a dog. Sky had just decided to attack them both, she flew towards the fiend leader ready to unload a hailstorm of lead.

(Guns 94, SMG, firing at the fiend leader x2, and firing on to the dog, x1)

Firing as she moved backwards she was unable to hit the attacking dog, bullets flying off over its head. She managed to doge the canine’s initial attack with a feint to the left, but as she turned to face it, was sent reeling as the dog’s vicious teeth tore into her and its claws scrabbled against her hide.

She could feel the warm drizzle of blood streaming down her body and then down her legs. She was badly injured for the second time in as many hours. If it wasn’t for the immediate danger presented by the enraged and aggressive dog, apart from howling in pain and suffering, she would have been very saddened and ashamed by her inability to stay away from harm’s way.

Dropping the pistol from her mouth as she opened her mouth to shriek in pain, she tried a desperate act and using her zebra martial arts, tried to hoof-chop the mutt away from her. She did it with the intent of getting it away from her, so she could try and attend to her fresh injuries.

(Unarmed 50, Luck 4, Trying to get the dog away from her so she can deal with her new set of injuries)

Scrap watched as his shot hit home and the not quite a super mutant thing become a cloud of ash. As he waited for the spell matrix in his gun to allow hin to resume combat he scanned the field for any hostiles that had remained alive through the initial carnage.

Seeing a dog attempting to maul Zestari he sighted up his lightning pistol and loosed a bolt of electric death towards the mutt.

Techno winced as his shield shattered after a few shots had hit it, and promptly got to aiming at another one of the attackers.

That was until he saw the dog on Zestari, after which he turned and tried to grab and pull the dog with as powerful telekinesis as he could muster to get it away from Zesty. "Get the bloody hell away from her, mutt!" he yelled as he tried to pull the dog back and upwards with the intent of flinging it up as high as possible.

As the ravager fell, Shutter felt a small moment of pride...however, he didn't have much time to dwell on it, as a clashing of metal broke him back to his senses, as he saw Starry engaging the Raider-creature's Chainsaw with her sword!

Oh no! What is she doing? I've got to hurry!

Quickly, hoping that the current attack had kept him from being noticed, Shutter dropped back into stealth as he tried to circle around behind the creature with the chainsaw, as he readied his handgun.

He didn't waste a second as he aimed, and fired three rounds towards the creature, attempting to take them out quick before they could hurt his best friend (And possible love interest...it was a very confusing relationship that he had with Starry right now...)

Starry noticed the enemies falling to bits around her. All that was left was a dog and the leader she was fighting, which meant that her allies were about to unload a torrent of fire on her current target.

Starry disengaged the leader, backing up momentarily to circle around him, and hopefully attack him from a different angle while he was focused on the torrent of bullets raining down on him. That way, she might get a good hit, and wouldn't go head-on into the chainsaw.

There was, of course, the fact that Starry didn't want to get hit by any friendly fire, but with this maneuver, she was hoping to land the killing blow, assuming he wasn't killed by the incoming fire.

(Melee 60, strength 6, agility 7, to back off while allies fire at him, and attack him from a different angle)

Kestrel shot three rounds at the remaining thing that Starry was engaging in melee, all but one of his shots missing, that one last shot going into the thing’s side and causing it to gasp out in pain. Whipping around, he fired two more shots at the dog on Zestari, but not only did he somehow miss the dog, one of his rounds actually went into Zestari’s shoulder instead. Adding onto the steadily growing amount of wounds the zebra was accumulating. This just wasn’t her day.

And unfortunately, Sky wouldn’t be the one to end that accumulation just yet, as her shots at the dog went wild and missed. However, she managed to unload several rounds into the chest of the leader of the things, causing him to cry out again. However, he still persisted in trying to rip apart Starry with his chainsaw, swinging it wildly at the mare, who seemed to be able to avoid it at this point.

Zestari tried to save herself, attempting to throw the dog off of her. Unfortunately, this did little to shake the dog loose or deter him from his meal, nor did the lightning bolt that flew over his back from Scrap’s gun. What did manage to finally dislodge him was a burst of magic from Techno, releasing the hound’s grip on Zestari and sending him rolling several feet away. He quickly got back on his feet and was prepared to leap again, perhaps onto the unicorn who threw him off this time, but before he could even get off the ground Scrap fired again, this time hitting the dog dead-center in the face and completely vaporizing it in one hit.

Shutter still managed to maintain cover as the leader faced off against Starry, lining up his sights on the thing. He fired off three shots, both hitting his dominant arm and causing him to drop his weapon in pain as he screamed out. The third shot however, just barely missed Starry’s head, actually ruffling her mane as it flew past.

Starry, meanwhile, managed to dodge all of the thing’s attacks, avoiding getting gored by that nasty chainsaw of his. However, she couldn’t find an opening for her to attack without getting torn apart herself. Until Shutter’s rounds hit his arm and forced him to drop his weapon. Which gave Starry exactly the opportunity she needed. She rushed forward, and with a slice of her sword, removed the thing’s head from its body. It dropped like a sack of rocks, the still whirring chainsaw laying on the ground, the battle was won.

Scrap's first shot flew wildly passed and when his frantic second shot vaporized the mutt he put his gun away and ran over to check how badly the dog's assault had hurt Zestari.

The wounds from the dogs jaws were very evident as was the bullet hole due to the blood seeping out. He yelled out for Techno.

"I know I'm stating the obvious here but Zestari needs a medic!"

Starry pumped her hoof after decapitating the leader. "YES! Did you ponies see that?! That was awesome!" Starry wasn't going to get caught up in her excitement, though. She may have barely gotten out of the battle unscathed, but her allies didn't fare quite as well.

"Techno! You take care of Zesty, I'll see if any of our new friends are still alive," she shouted to him cheerfully, as she hopped between the bodies of the mercenaries, hoping to find one still alive whom she could save from the brink.

Starry had, of course, noticed that Shutter nearly shot her in the head, but she was willing to overlook that. Starry had spoken quite a bit to Shutter, and it made sense that the more Starry spoke to somepony, the less they would want to hurt her. It only made sense that it was a mistake.

Sky flew over to the form of Zestari, She had been shot by accident and attacked by a dog. She had her Smg holstered and she could do nothing to help her friend, only look around to see the all the things they killed. Sky just hovered above the group, ready for anything that may appear.

Kestrel gave no reaction as the battle came to a close. The blood loss and his typical attitude did not allow him to emote his frustration at missing the dog and accidentally shooting Zestari.

He blamed the blood loss for that fuck up. He was still light headed from before and even now it was effecting him. Apparently it was effecting him in more ways than one.

Without a word the gryphon holstered his rifle and sat down, letting himself rest a bit. Maybe that would help clear the haze that hung over him right now.

Cross looked over at the others, he had paused for one moment after he had gutted the primates' throats. Still in the process he had managed to get himself covered in the disgusting blood of whatever it was, wasn't too much of a hinderance but still, he would appreciate not being forced to clean his suit later. Rather than let any time go to waste, Cross packed up as many of those grinding weapons as he could along with dragging along that chainsaw that appeared to have fallen onto the battlefield.

It was few moments before he noticed some torn flesh in his chest, ....and not all the blood dripping from him was from those dregs....Cross let out a sharp breath as he saw Zestari, she was horribly maimed alot worse than he was. He rushed over as quickly he could, ignoring the pain as best he could , and began the necessary procedures that would save Zestari.

(Med 50 to begin helping Zestari)

She could feel the teeth digging deeper of the canid as she tried to get it off her, the volume blood loss increasing as the creature instinctually tried to being her to ground. She felt the burning sting of a bullet as it tore into her shoulder and she yelled out in pain and her leg gave way, causing her to fall, the dog still atop her.

It was finally dislodged by Techno and finished off by Scrap. Zestari could barely move, the shredded wound was cascading blood and her shoulder was internally damaged by the bullet. With her good hoof she reached towards the bag, the limb quivering dramatically as she did so, and she was unable to grasp anything inside. She gave up and let her hoof fall to the ground.

Having already gone through one traumatic experience today and another undergoing another currently, her body began shutting down and her mind readily accepted the offered option of unconsciousness. As she slumped against the ground she could see Cross coming over she mumbled something that she hoped sounded like ‘please help me’, and her eyes rolled back into her head as rushing black overtook her.

Shutter let out a gasp of panic when he saw his last shot go wild, gun clattering to the ground as his mouth opened, but he gave a sigh of relief soon afterwards when it seemed to miss.

However, it didn't stop him from galloping up to Starry, to make sure he hadn't hurt her.

"Starry! Are you okay? I saw that mutant ape thing attack you with a chainsaw so I tried to shoot him before he could hurt you but one shot missed and almost hurt you and I'm so so sorry!"

He said in one breath, taking a second for a VERY deep inhale afterwards.

Starry glanced up at Shutter briefly. It was a little funny to her that Shutter was apologizing so sincerely for something she wasn't mad about, but Starry knew this meant a lot to Shutter, and she wasn't going to let him feel bad about it.

"Hey, it's alright, Shutter. I know you made a mistake, but those things happen, and I'm still in one piece, right? I'd forgive you, but I was never angry about it in the first place. Besides, it's far more likely that I'll end up hurting you in the future, because I work with explosives and all. I already have an apology for almost every variable! I'm gonna have to use one of them eventually, right?"

Starry turned back to focus on finding some wounded mercenaries. "Help me find somepony I can help, Shutter."

Shutter rubbed the back of his head in embarrasement...Starry did have a point...not that it made him happy to think about that.

"Uh...yeah...that's true..."

He mumbled, before hearing Starry ask him to give her a hand locating survivors, to which he gave a quick nod, before heading off to aid Starry in her search.
