Ponyshock: "Guardian" Squad

Kira felt a bit exhausted after helping the two mares out of the water and got them in through the door that was leading to the next room. If she would not be so tired then she would have probably rushed over to the ridiculous amount of whiskey that was in the room, in stead she saw the small pony doll she was really bad at pony history back in the stable so she as not sure who the pony was, but it was probably worth something to someone.

She got over to the doll and picked it up not really thinking of the cameras as they had been may cameras in the wasteland that where broken, so why would there work any better then those cameras.

"There's no way in hell that that isn't a trap of some sort, and you just walked right into it."

Lucky stared at the gryphon as she callously strode directly into the single lit store, with a clearly marked bait item, the pre-war doll. He was flabbergasted that someone would just do that without thinking about just WHY the room was made so incredibly inviting and ESPECIALLY after the exploding plant in the room they were just in.

Lucky didn't go near the tavern; Instead, he backed up in the opposite direction a bit, trying to put some space between it and himself to try and minimize whatever damage it might cause.

He opened his mouth to comment again and said, "You REALLY better hope that that bar ain't rigged with a bigger bomb, or one o' those fuckin' tripwires with the shotgun on the end, 'cause I know next to shit about patching up anything bigger than a bullet wound or scorpion sting. What about the rest of you, know anything?"

“Kira, Dawn, Zebra with glasses. Th-thanks.” A wet Bakewell said once the group had gotten to safety. While pushing through the water she had abandoned the suitcase- It was empty anyway and the container seemed slightly less important than her and Sawdust’s lives. Speaking of Sawdust…

“Are you okay?” Bakewell asked the woodworker pony with concern as the group proceeded down the hallway. Bakewell herself was fine, having suffered little more long-term damage than radiation and a hatred of water.

Once the group found the tavern, the earth pony was understandably suspicious. This was a lot of supplies! If a simple and used gun had been booby trapped in such a dangerous way, surely this stack of conveniently placed alcohol would make the entire hallway suddenly light on fire or something. Bakewell concluded that, as much as she would love to have spoons, they were not worth dying over. She opened her mouth to tell the group as much when she saw Kira enter the tavern. What was she..? She wasn’t… She was! Bakewell began backing away from the tavern with Lucky.

“Uh, healing potion goes in, wounds go out?” She answered the buck’s question with a large, nervous grin as her eyes darted from place to place, trying to make out what terrible thing the bar would trigger. Hopefully one of these ponies was a medic, a medic to piece her back together after inevitable explosive trap related crippling would be a really nice thing to have.

his eyes moved over to a near griffon his mouth dropping to the floor, he backed away fro the tavern joining the other two ponies, "you've got to be kidding me" he muttered to himself, "yeah that's how potions work...... I have a feeling were going to need alot of them" his eyes flickered towards the cameras, a small red light could be seen flashing well thats strange...... this is going to be one hell of a ride.

Sawdust fled by instinct into the next room, but as the peril wore off she trotted to a stop and suddenly sat. Her eyes were still a little wide in terror and a faint clicking coming from her pocket. She tended to her pocket, pulling out a device with a gauge on it. Its needle hung in between solid green and solid yellow. Bother.

She snapped out of her revere and put the tool away, "Huh?" Sawdust stared blankly at Bakewell for a moment longer and asked pointedly, "What?" Sawdust was unused to concern coming from ponies, most would just as soon spit on you as help you and with her tendency to be a little eccentric and twitchy most tended toward the spit side. As she thought though, something more pressing than her answer presented its self, Kira blithely entering a storefront less than 5 minutes after an explosion and the sea nearly did them all in.

The mare's eyes drifted around once Kira left direct line of sight, noticing the little red lights on cameras. She locked onto them, "Watchers. The walls have eyes." Normally such a statement would fall under Paranoia, but Cameras always watched, it was only a matter of if their gaze was dark or alive. Lights on it though suggested the later. Slowly she pulled out her Pistol and began lining up a shot, she planned on blinding the watchers as she did to nearly every camera she found in the Wastes.

He looked over at Sawdust and saw her eyes flicker in the direction of the cameras "I know you noticed them" he whispered over to the shaking mare "If you want can you please help me take them out..... The wathcer can't see if he doesn't have eyes" Dawn grinned "I'll check if there are any traps then you go and dissarm them." with a smile and a wink "everythings gonna' be alright." Dawn looked back at the griffon well that is unless she kills us first were his final thoughts steeling his nerves for what was to come

Cross just sighed as Kira walked right past the group and headed straight into the bar without a care in the ocean....It was right then and there, he decided he need to start putting these ponies in shape if they wanted to survive.

'Kira!!! get the buck back here you git!!! we don't know what's going on!!!" Cross shook his head as his mask reappeared and he waited for the bad stuff that would inevitably happen....

As Kira calmly walked through the cameras view, a loud alarm started blaring.

From above the group of ponies still in the hallway, two vents opened up overhead and four little automic drone-like machines started beeping wildly as they began opening fire on the group before they had a chance to react, they flew around about 20 feet off the ground, too far for anypony to reach them in melee, however they were quickly descending to improve their aim...

Drone #1: Fires on Cross

Narrowly misses as Cross manages to charge lunge forward and take cover with thin the tavern
Drone #2: Fires on Bakewell

Bakewell manages to escape unscathed, finds safety in the low ceiling of the tavern

Drone #3: Fires on Dawn Blaze

As the drone heads towards Dawn, it dives foward managing to correct its machine gun fire and get a good shot into his stomach, the bullet is stopped by a rib and does little damage

Drone #4: Fires on Athanix

Athanix stands there dumbfoundly as the wild beeping began, as soon as his glasses got knocked off by a hard shot, he notices something might not be right at the moment... heading towards cover, he takes a couple of round to the buttock, dropping him to the floor, leaving him unable to walk to the tavern

Okay Kira think before doing, think before doing. Jumped behind the the table of where to doll have been placed she flipped the table to it side to provide so kind of cover for her as she pulled out her repeater. It she did not start to think before doing things she would get herself or most likely others killed it was just her luck that these cameras had to work where in the entire wasteland they did not work.

She took aim with the rifle firing of two shot at the closest of the drones, she was not that good with the repeater but she was afraid to use explosives in case it would start another flood or hurt the others with the blast.

"AAAHHHH! of course I get shot." His eyes followed the last droan that had taken shots at athanix..... He soon learned he shouln't be complaining. breaking into a full gallop, He began his best try at dragging him to the safety of the tavern "Bakewell!" he yelled out as best he could " I hate to say I told you so but we NEED those potions!!" The pain in his ribs was bad, but he honestly didn't want to know what his zebra companion was going through.

Once he got to the tavern, the sound of exploding glass and the smell of liquor filling the area, Dawn searched his own pockets for weapons "wait wha-"...... They were empty,hearing two shots that didn't sound like they cae from the flying machines, all he could do was close his eyes and hope they hit home.

Machines. Gun Toting Flying Machines. Sawdust got moving and quick. She rushed in the same general direction as everypony else, for the somewhat hard cover of the tavern's insides. Such a place would be good, probably good enough to hide from the cameras after the fight was over. She knew they would have to too, since the alarm and drones appeared only after somepony, Kira, passed in front of their unblinking eyes.

Once in cover her mind clicked over into a different mode, the one ingrained in her by countless firefights, watched and participated in. The Machines were targeting other ponies, that would make them easier targets since she wouldn't be forced to pop and fire. She chose the one floating after and firing upon Bakewell. She tried to find logic in the choice, deciding that it was 'alphabetical'. Fortunatly she didn't know the name of the party's Token Zebra.

Saw lined up her shots and fired. Bang bang, baby. Bang Bang.

(Guns 47, Luck 7, Three Shots with a 9mm at the Drone attacking Bakewell)

As soon as the drones began attacking, Lucky drew his weapon. He silently hoped he hadn't pissed of Karma as he lined up to fire on one of the robots, which had begun shooting at Athanix. He put two bullets in it's direction, hoping to atleast direct it's attention away from his now wounded comrade. He then swiveled about and sent the next two at the machine that was assaulting Blaze.

He ejected the clip from his gun before putting it back in his shoulder pocket. He then yelled, "Goddess Damn it! I TOLD you! I KNEW it was a trap!" He jumped behind where Athanix had taken cover, and called out, "I'm out of ammo! If any of you have 10 mm rounds, toss 'em over here!"

[guns 56, Luck 9, rolling to fire at the drone.]

"Open fire!!" Cross roared as he narrowly jumped into the tavern where he could be protected by the low ceiling. bullets clanging the spot where he had been, turning back, he saw the new pony, Dawn Blaze trying to drag Athanix to safety, leaning over the edge of cover, Cross used his magic to try to help him pull, once that was over, Cross stood up and with the flare of his horn, tried slamming the rotors of one of the drones against another with his telekinesis, gritting his teeth as he did so

Big Rodeo: shoot at closest drone, take cover

Kira's shots went wide as the closest drone went spiraling out of control when a lucky shot got its stabilizing mechanism, unable to shoot the griffon, it dropped lower and tried charging her with its propellers...but it completely missed and went soaring past straight over into the bar shelf and crash in a spray of glass and sparks.

Sawdust managed to pull off the same exact stunt and the drone diving at Bakewell bounced away and began spinning profoundly as it tried shooting Bake, instead only able to dive in to attack Bake with its propellers, managing to get a deep gash on her shoulder, slicing through some flesh.

The drone that was after Cross apparently malfunctioned and a bullet ricocheted off a nearby wall, hitting one of its own propellers and breaking it clean off, it missed its other shots, however, after managing to pull Athanix into the safety of the bar, Cross turned his attention to the drone and gripped it in his magical sheathe and slammed it into the one that was hovering over Bakewell, cutting off its attack, both of them emitted Sparks and steam and began to drift offward....

Lucky and Rodeo both focused fire on the 4th drone, Rodeo missed every shot, cursing and blaming the whiskey, but some reason Lucky managed to get in every single one of his shots even while intoxicated.

Oh and his bullets hit the drone. Still not dead, the drone clanked as it shot in Rodeo's and Lucky's direction, nearly missing his face, the drone managed to get Lucky at the bottom base of his right ear, blood dripped from Lucky's head and dirtied his booze-stain vault uniform....

-Drone 1 down
-Drone 2 and 3 badly injured
-Drone 4 injured

-*NEW: Bakewell, deep shoulder injury
-*NEW: Lucky, still really drunk, and bleeding from the base of his ear


-Athanix still injured....

Bakewell let out a pained gasp and went from frustrated by the drones being out of range to wishing they had stayed that way as one of them buzzed through her shoulder. The wound hurt and was bleeding quite a bit, but she could handle it for now; the mare was tougher than she looked and was determined to not show weakness since other party members were probably hurting more.

More importantly than her injury; the drones were within Bakewell’s range, and the pony was going to try to make the best of it as she gritted her teeth and lunged at the drone responsible for her new injury in an attempt to bring the flying contraption down to earth.

[Unarmed 70, 6 luck. Attempting to grab 2nd drone and slam it propeller-first into the floor. Stomp on it with uninjured hoof if actions remain.]

It was good that she had managed to hit anything at all with her rifle and even better that she managed to take the drone down. But now she did not dare to fire when the others where so close she could hit them and that would just be devastating, she really needed someone to learn her shoot better maybe Trails he had always been good with a repeater that if he was still alive, no bad Kira don't think about that now.

She up away her Cowboy Repenter and where going to resort to her own claws. She moved as quickly as she could over to one of the drone that had just fired at Rodeo and Lucky, talons are better then hooves that is one thing she new for sure. She grabbed the Drone the best way she could hoping to cut herself on the propeller and tired to used her claws to rip of its gun and slam it in to the floor.

Athanix started back pedaling a bit as he was dragged to safety of both Dawn and Cross. A sharp pain though shot up hi slegs as he tried to move them so he stopped immediately. All he wanted to do is get to cover quickly so he could fix himself up and anyone else who may need his assistance after this engagement.

"Thanks guys, I might of had to actually try a hoof at fighting robots if you didn't pull my sorry flank out of there!"

He also notices though that the entirety of his surroundings just seemed a bit duller and out of focus. The sounds around him became fainter and he felt as if something had just went and flipped a switch on all of his senses.

"Celestia damn it all..." Nix uttered below his breath. He had finally lost his prized glasses, and being the ill prepared zebra he was he never remembered to get acquainted with an extra pair.

"Lucky gave me those specs!" Nix said to himself as he facehoofed. He would need to get those back sometime soon or things would not end up well for him.

Cross chuckled as he easily managed to bash two of the drones and enjoyed the spark show that followed afterward. The drones considerably failed their duties to protect their bar if they were suppose to take them out, they had even gotten the jump but it still seemed they couldn't manage to do too much damage.

Following Bakewells lead, Cross marched forward and tried grabbing the other drone in magic, and shoved it towards the wall with as much force as he could muster....

(Magic 100, telekinetic slam on Drone 3)

Breeze had been shyly and quietly following the group. There were ponies (and a gryphon) that she didn't know, so she hadn't done or said much. But when the drones began to attack, she readied herself for battle. She knew that she wasn't the world's best fighter, but better to try and fail than to not try at all. There were ponies here (and a gryphon) that were all important to somepony. She gulped, and ran up to one of the drones, and kicked it as hard as she could. If she got hurt, then who cared?


(Unarmed 30, kicking a drone with both back hooves)

"HAH! That the best these things've got?" Lucky shouted over the sounds of combat. "I've taken worse shots to the head and lived, yah useless things!"

The tan buck checked his hunting rifle from behind his cover, and discovered that it was is in working condition, albeit not in the best of conditions. He still cocked the sad contraption strapped to his back, and jumped back out of cover. e took aim at the second drone, and bit down on the trigger yoke, praying to the Goddesses that the rifle would actually fire.

[guns 56, Luck 9, attacking Drone 2 with three bullets. Weapon is in shitty condition though, so take however many points off]

Sawdust adjusted her aim, trying to find a good fire line on any of the drones, but it was getting hard everypony was just ripping and tearing at the things with their bare hooves. Except #3, that one was being magiced. She leveled her gun at that one and opened fire hoping to blast it into oblivion or at least do enough damage so that when it was smashed against the ground by Cross, it would be destroyed by such an action.

(Guns 47, luck 7, 3 shots at #3 with a 9mm pistol)

With a brutal lunge towards the drone...Bake managed to smash it on the floor, and proceeded to jump on it until it stopped beeping..

Cross couldn't focus with all the commotion coming over from Bakewell and as he got distracted was hit by a stray round from the drone in his left leg. Dawn managed to take a bullet to the flank as well.

Luckily Gentle Breeze seemingly appeared out of no where and bucked the drone that shot Cross and Dawn, throwing all the leftover scrap across the hallway.

Taking another shot of whiskey, Lucky managed to miss every single shot he fired, but managed to break 9 bottles of beer on the wall....Sawdust on the other hoof, switched targets to drone 4 after Gentle Breeze had already busted drone, managed to get some well placed shots and drone 4 exloded mid-air

Combat over, good work everypony...

Bakewell’s display of jumping up and down on top of the captured drone was in no way elegant, but it did the job. She picked it up the wounded bot and shook it around a bit before hurling the useless metal creation over to its friend in the hallway. She let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding and surveyed the group. They were almost all bleeding, but Dawn seemed to have it off the worst. Bakewell had left the healing potions for the others to pick back earlier, so she couldn’t help much. Shade-Zebra seemed to have dropped his shades at some point though; so she could at least make a nice gesture while ponies were bleeding everywhere.

“I think we might need to distribute one or two of those healing potions. Who picked up them up?” She asked as she grabbed Athanix’s glasses, walked over to him, and tried to put them on his face with a quiet “here”.

Dawn was starting to feel dizzy, he had been so preoccupied trying to keep the zebra from bleeding out that he had forgotten about his own wounds. "D-damn." the word slipped out through gritted teeth as a burning sensation finally registered in his flank....... At least the buzzing of the propellered contraptions had finally stopped.

He saw Bakewell return the glasses to the zebra "wait but i thought you had them?" he responded If no one had picked them up........ Well know we were really screwed weren't we, he layed down I need to find a weapon and fast he thought to himself " whats your name by tue way?" he turned to the nearby zebra and asked.

Cross's pupils shrank as he realized he didn't recall anypony actually picking up the health potions from the starting chamber, meaning they might've been pretty much on their own as far as health went....

"Wait I though Lucky or Kira had them....?"

Cross shook his head in disbelief and tried his best to fix up his wound and then proceed towards the others.
