Dead Rising [Closed]

Great, just great. It seemed peaceful- which means it obviously isn't peaceful!

Looks like self reliance will have to wait, it would be downright idiotic to go it alone.

"Excuse me, Aura?" Xero calls down the stairs "I could use a hoof checking out this room upstairs, it's a little too quiet."

If all went well, now would even be a good time to start making amends.

Aura looked up as she heard her voice and picked up the little zebra mare Zyrene again along with the medkit and set them on her back before going to see Xero with her pistol drawn, the black light from her horn casting errie shadows over everything. "Sure, I'll help you."

Zyrene clapped her hooves in excitement at all the things she found, though she was most excited by the medical kit, sparse as it was. She had just finished pocketing the weapon and ammo when she was suddenly lifted in the air and put on Aura's back once again. Zyrene flailed her legs to the medical kit before she saw it being taken as well and relaxed. She let out a sigh of relief and waited for the kit to come to her as well.

Once she had everything situated, she rubbed the back of Aura's head as a sign of thanks and sat down, keeping her eyes and ears open for anything else that might be useful or suspicious.

Mix squeaks in delight as the door clicks open "Thank Celestia!" He looks up at the upper floors as he hears some low growling voices and looks at amnesia "Hey, what'd ya think is up there?" mix trots anxiously around the room "You think they got in?"

"Yeah, we gotta find a way to get up there... sounds like there are plenty of em up there..... also..... did you just squeak?" She saw the chest down under the collapsed floor and flew down to it, trying to kick it open. "Crap, locked. Lemme try this one..." Taking out a screwdriver and a pin, she started working on the lock.

It took her a few frustrating tries, but she eventually opened it up, and it was well worth it. Inside lay a two 10mm pistols and a tarnished bronze key. The footsteps upstairs were moving away, creaking loudly as if they were headed down some stairs. Meanwhile, outside, violent wind can be heard blowing around, kicking up the dry dust, dirt and debris of the wasteland. A dust storm. If somepony was foolish enough to go outside in that, they wouldn't be able to see three feet in from of them, much less find the way back home.

Amnesia threw the chest open and nearly yelled. "Haha! Yes! Hey who needs a gun? We've got arms here!" Picking up the key, she looked at it for a few seconds. "Hm, wonder what this goes to. Better just keep it in my pocket...." Slipping the key in her pocket, she returned to the group with the two pistols. "Alright, these go to whoever needs em most. Who needs em?"

"I could make use of one, if you don't mind." Xero remarks, then turns his head to give Aura a reassuring look "We'll get to the door in a moment."

The sound of the wind whipping against the walls was becoming ominously loud. That couldn't be good. The Zebra winced at the prospect of being confined to this building by the elements.

Mix looks at Amn, embarrased as she asks if he just squeaked. "Uh.....No, musta been the floorboards." Mix paces back and forth as Amnesia goes over to the box down below. When she returns she is giving away two 10mm pistols, as Xero takes the first, Mix jumps in and smiles at Amn. "Um, I could really use a secondary weapon. Could I have that? Or do you want to use it?"

Zyrene kept her ears up as she listened to the winds outside. The wasteland seemed to be doing its best to get under the skins of the assembled ponies in the house. Still, wind was wind, and that wouldn't be hurting her by the end of the day... not unless it was strong enough to lift her up and out of the house. She shivered a little at that thought, but quickly got herself under control. For now, she was content to sit on Aura's back and wait for her to help Xero with the door.

Aura smiled a bit feeling Zyrene's nuzzle of thanks and looked over seeing the pistols being taken by the two males and swing out her repeater from off her pack putting her pistol in it's holster on her shoulder. She simply looked at the rest of them as she bucked her back legs against the door using her powerful and longs back legs to hit it. While she used her magic to keep Zyrene stable on her back. "Come one zebra."

Xero dashes to the Black Mare's side, scanning the room for signs of the undead and squinting slightly to adjust his eyes to the newer set of iron signs.

"An efficient way to bypass barriers, truly." He quips cynically, with just a touch of jealousy.

The old wooden door offered little resistance to the strong mare's kick. It flew off its rusty hinges and slapped down on the inside of the next room, creating a loud echo. It looked like it used to be the cafeteria, chairs and small tables were strewn everywhere, and empty bullet shells littered the floor, which was covered in nearly black bloodstains. A corridor to the left broke off into some stairs to the second floor, and nothing unusual really seemed to be anywhere.

Until they heard a scream.

A zombie popped its head through the door from around the corner, screaming, his undead friends pouring down the stairs. If somepony was fast enough, they could get a round or two into him. They didn't seem to acknowledge any danger of just storming them. They were single minded, instinctively seeking to feed. Loud cracking sounds came from behind them in the room they had previously been in. After figuring out how to tear away the boards, the undead hastily began their assault, crawling in through windows and boarded up doors.

[1 zombie at the door (If anypony has AGI 7 or higher, you may shoot and kill). 4 coming down the stairs, 3 in the previous room.]

Without hesitation, Xero fires three rounds from the 10mm pistol (-18 AP) aimed at the exposed head of the zombie by the door [AGI 7].

Quick on the trigger, wouldn't father be proud. Then again, killing without hesitation was exactly what his other instructors had wanted.

Mix quickly pulls out the 10mm pistol he got from Amn, but he wasnt fast enough to hit the first wave instead he dove behind the counters in the cafeteria and waited for the perfect time to fire. "Guys! Get Back!!" Mix warned as the undead slowly shuffled into the large enpty cafe.

Zyrene looked up to the zombies coming down the stairs and whipped out her new .357 revolver, firing away at them [two shots with .357, Guns: 45. 16 AP). She was met with a hollow click after just two shots, though prompting her to drop to Aura and pull out more ammo for it. She mentally kicked herself for not reloading before and hoped that Aura and Xero would be able to finish off what zombies had come in while she reloaded as fast as she could [Fast reloading, 4 AP].

Amnesia fired a few rounds at the undead coming down the stair with her repeater, covering Zy's reload after she heard it click. After wards, she whipped around and waited for the others to come through the door to the previous room, ready to blow them away when the popped in.
