Pursuit of Harmony (Ended)

Amity turned around to face Cross. This was a voice he hadn't heard in a long time. He was surprised to see him out here, but he didn't show it. Moving his jaw a bit he unlatched his switchblade and dropped it into his hoof doing a small twirl with it until he finally put it back inside his coat.

"Hello Cross, I see you brought some new friends?" Amity said eyeing Cross. This was good, Cross had brought somepony to break into the same vault that he was. Now he had a better chance of getting through security and hacking into those terminals.

Gathering his thoughts one more time, Amity spoke.

"I am wanted to find some armor in that safe, I have been wearing the same old leathers for too long."

With that Amity brushed his cloak a bit before looking at the earth pony again.

"And what are you looking for?"

Stormy made grin as he shook his head a little as he prepared what he wished to express. He was careful to word his words right as to avoid sounding greedy. Last thing he needed was representing his ponies to come off selfish, granted they were sort of.

"Anything that has the prettiest flashing glowing lights or weirdest looking guns in the place. All I ask is for any tech that is in there, Be it a lazer pistol or something really interesting." He grinned ad gave him a mental pat on the back.

This may be the most unselfish way of asking for the best and most likely the nicest stuff in the where every they were going. He hadn't expected to be the one asking for the best loot. Best pull his weight from now on.

"...Be it a laser pistol or something really interesting...".

Cross just continued to smile and crook his eyes, hopefully Amber remembered him well enough to know he would never give up arcane tech to anypony, especially a steel ranger.

"Yes...thats right big guy, all the pre-war tech you wrap you're hooves around and take and show off to all your buddys" he tried to say it as straight as possible but there was something he really needed from the cache and he didn't want to cause any problems.

With the many companions Cross have met, he just barely beginning to pick up all the various skills others have to offer him, just maybe the path to his dreams will be realized by not him alone if his destiny leads him this down this road

Amity almost smiled.

It was funny to see Cross try and keep his expressions under control. However, Amity kept his expressions well under control. Years of redundant, mundane and tedious training assured that. But Amity could understand why, Cross was probably looking for some sort of arcanos weapon himself and that this earth pony might just claim it for himself. Something did bother Amity though. Something Amity meant to ask before but completely overlooked.

"How are you all going to get inside." Amity said. There was a special something he wanted in there as well and he wanted to make sure that they had a way of getting inside so that he could get what he needed.

Something had come to Stormy's attention that would be absolutely necessary to know before he said anything more. The colt's seem to be friends, which to him was quite interesting to him. It was rare to meet a ally out in the wastes.

"Before we discuss the mission at hoof, may I ask your name dear colt? You have yet to tell me and if you could go into detail how you to know each other?"

Stormy hunted for knowledge. Even if it was mundane as a name or something like that. He did also love to hear a good story. He was sure the two had quite a fun tale to share about how they meet.

"Also." He pointed to Sky on the table. "Do you by chance know Sky? If not how do you know her Cross?" Stormy had a twinkle in his eye as he asked. He was very interested in knowing now that he really thought about. He didn't know much about them and that needed to change a bit.

Cross continued shifting his eyes, normally he wouldn't feel too bad about lying but Stormy had perfectly good intentions and he just couldn't break his code of honor.

"...Yes, we are both part of very special group of ponies, but Amber does not know Sky, I just met her in ponyville not too long ago." Keeping as much detail secret as possible

"As to answer your question Amber, I hope you like digging..." he beamed

Amity could almost feel the frown on his face, but he was sure he didn't show it. He just hoped that he wouldn't have to dig to far. He wasn't the strongest pony out of the bunch. But if it was going to take some time, Amity would power through it.

Cross Roads had already mentioned his name to the big earth pony so there was no point in saying it again. Amber just exhaled a bit and walked over to a small cabinet. He opened the cabinet to reveal a small saddlebag filled with miscellaneous items. It was mostly just some random bottle caps, scrap metal and some cigarettes, but Amity knew they would fetch something to somepony. And all Amity needed were caps and the thing he was looking for in the safe.

"Let get started then." Amity said coldly allowing a bit of disapproval do leak into his enunciation.

Stormy loved when ponies spoke least, it always said so much more.Group of ponies means task group. Anything from a band of mercenary to some special version or name for what they were currently doing. Sky was from Ponyville which was quite interesting. That was pretty far off.

He wondered what cause him to bring her along. Perhaps she had some hidden talent unseen to Stormy? Do to the conservation finishing so quickly and the eagerness of the another Colt Stormy decided to drop it.

Everything is revealed in time, or so they say at least. Stormy had only his side saddle bag and some folded blankets on his back. He was fully ready already as he went over and picked up Sky.

He had assumed his job was carrying her. "I agree. I'd like to get to it before night fall." Stormy now realized why Cross had that shovel. He grinned as he walked out the door.

The sun began to settle in the distance, dipping below the cloud curtain far enough that they could see, filling the sky with a vanilla tinge. The group had set to work, digging deep beneath the tree, Stormy and Amber hacking at the soil till it was soft enough for Cross to levitate it out.

Sky slept soundly against the tree, nopony complained.

Then, Amber struck a steel knob

'Finally...' Amity thought to himself. That had taken quite a long time of tediously picking at the soil. It reminded him of all the mundane takes he had to do just a couple years back. This was far from exhausting, it was just boring and Amity thought that the redundancy of the task was killing him, not the effort required.

Amity dropped the shovel on the ground after striking the steel knob. Slowly stepping away to get a good look at it. He was a little confused at first. Why would a bunker use a knob? That couldn't be right, he was expecting some sort of larger locking mechanism that sat on the front of the door. It could be that easy to open it so Amity just stepped back and figured he should let Cross deal with it. The sooner Amity got inside the better.

'......Sky was soaring through the clouds and-' 'DING' the sound of a mundane metal against metal had pierced her dream. She awoke with her eyes opened wide, the sound of metal sure had not been a pleasant thing to hear. being in the wasteland that could mean anything, but now she saw her two companions, and a third one that appeared to be digging with another companion she had just met.

'did i miss something' came to mind. 'might as well go see what there doing.' she quickly noticed that cross had moved towards the hole and that the new pony was heading her way.

The two had brought their own shovels, but Stormy did have anything like that on his person. He walked pass them as they looked over the lock and he began picking it with his screw driver and booby pin.

No point discussing something while there was work to be done. He did though nod a hello to sky as he saw her little head peek up. Stormy wasn't very surprised by the metal knob on the door. It's possible this was a civilian bunker.

Pre-war military normally had a computer or something very annoying and loud guarding it. Stormy really didn't like when turrets sot at him. He had bad experience with one once and sense then they have been something he tried to avoid, which was hard cause there put up to guard the stuff he wanted.

Fate is cruel.

Cross stood proudly over the pit the crew had dug with the sun at his back and the wind blowing upon his red hood, anxiously awaiting for Stormy to get it open but he kept fumbling. Normally then Cross would simply intervene but if a steel ranger couldn't get it open, then it was probably for the best.

As time passed Sky had appeared to awoken from her nap.

"Ah Sky, excellent to see u-" He dropped his voice, as Amber was walking up to sky, two steel automatons were rising from beneath the soil next to the house. standing on four meager legs, baring a full arsenal.

"HIT THE DECK!!", since Cross stood out the most, bullets shredded the dirt and rocks where he was just standing tearing through the cape of his hood. Cross leaped down into the hole forced his head down and summoned his baton, realizing it was futile in the face of armaments. Despite the deafening roar of the bullets, he turned to his companions and could not see them, only his mouth moved up and down and his head shaking about but if anypony heard him it wouldn't have mattered, if they weren't in out of the open, then they were dead.

"SOME...BODY'S BEEN A BAD, BAD...*beep*...PONY *PEW PEW PEW*

"HIT THE DECK!!" Was all Amity heard from Cross as bullet began to fly. Quickly, Amity scooped up Sky off her hoofs and bounded off and away from the two turrets. Sky wasn't that heavy considering she was a pegasus, but Amity could exactly fly either. Instead he sort of leaped from point-to-point only assisted by his wings. Mid leap however, Amity felt something pierce through his hindleg. His leg exploded in pain as let out a small cry of pain and crash landed on the ground tumbling to a stop quite a ways away from the turrets.

He began to tear up in pain as he rolled over off of Sky and took a good look at his leg. There was quite a large gash in his leg. Amity clenched his teeth as he considered his options.

Bleed to death, or not.

Amity didn't want to die, so instead he whipped his blade out and cut a sleeve of his cloak off and tied it around his hindleg tightly.

'That would stop the bleeding for now. Let's just hope it doesn't get infected.'

Sky was pulled away by this mysterious pony, as soon as the the words 'hit the deck.' Jumped out in the open, surprisingly he was really agile as he tried to dodge incoming fire from the automatons. He soon dropped her as he lept, and fell on me. he screamed of pain, she could see that he was shot in the hindleg. "need any...." before she could say, it seems that he already wrapped his leg with a piece of his hood. "never mind."


Sky looked up, she saw her comrades dodging the attacks of the automatons. "i need to go help them out, and you."She stared at him. "stay here while we try to destroy those things." She looked through her saddle bags and pulled out a worn out pistol, and clenched it in her mouth. 'thank god that ponyville contract wasn't a total waste.' She thought as she perked up her wings and flew into the fray.

Stormy turned to say he had gotten the thing open when he saw the robotic ponies rise from the dirt, which made him frown as he lifted up the open door to block the on onslaught of bullets now flying in the air. Stormy breathed short breathes as he looked to see if the others had made it.

He saw the slug or whatever the were firing light up Amity side and he gasped slightly. He seem to have gone to save Sky. Seems chivalry ain't dead after all.

Stormy looked in his bag for something that could used against them. Robots often were very resit to bullets. Did he bring that grenade with him? He was sure he had. Then again he can be forgetful.

He yelled as he looked in his pack with the door leaning on his back. "If any of you have the chance I'd suggest trying a run in the door!" He said more but the robots had turned and shoot at the door when they heard him.

[OOC]: On a side note Stormy the name that Cross used for me was 'Amber' not 'Amity'. Amity is my real name, one of which I have not disclosed to anyone in RP other than Athanix. I can see how it can be really confusing though.

This was the first time in a long time that Amity felt useless. Not only was his leg crippled, but there were robots out there spewing lead out in every direction. Even if Amity wasn't crippled, what purpose would he serve? A switchblade didn't exactly hurt a robot that much. Amity sighed as he rolled over in pain. He tried standing up but the moment he stood his legs buckled and he fell to the dirt again.

Amity just sighed as he looked in the direction of the others. He saw that Sky had whipped out a pistol, Cross had indeed his the deck and was pinned, and looked like Stormy had managed to get behind the door.

"If any of you have the chance I'd suggest trying a run in the door!" Stormy yelled before being answered by a barge of bullets and rather creepy robotic voices.

"I can't stand up!" Amity screamed from his position on the ground. He clenched his teeth and cursed his luck under his breath. When this was all over there better be some decent armor in there.

This was bad, Amber was wounded, and it was Cross's fault, when the stunning hail of bullets slowed down, his heartbeat clicked. The others were moving their legs into the door.

But the one sight that struck a chord with Cross was Amber lying there, arm reaching out, the others too deafened by the hellfire to hear him. Cross roared, eyes and horn flaring. He leaped forward in front of Amber, A red disc forming from his horn, blowing heat to his comrades behind him as the rain of bullets deflected off the shield. Cross struggled to bring out the words..."GET...HIM...INSIDE!!!!"

Flashes of white and red filled Cross Road's eyes, only taking a moment to blink, somepony leaped out and starting soaring away, and there was only one pony here who could do that.

"SKY....GET...BA-" A bullet grazed his ear, but the firing stopped.

"threat eliminated, aquaring new target..die Zebra Scum-Have a nice day!"

Cross, wouldn't be able to hold his position for much more.

Sky had just soared out into the battle, before she could get halfway, she heard a voice call out to her. "SKY....GET...BA-". Before the sentence could be finished, it had abruptly got cut off. She looked back to see Cross putting up a shield to defend the new pony. Sky had begun to fly back when the bullets stopped firing at them, and those machines begun to lock on to her.

"new target acquired, die zebra scum." the thing yelled, as both of the robots began to fire at Sky as she flew. 'they cant even tell that im Pegasus.' She thought as she dodged round after round of gunfire.

Her plans had changed her plan, she originally get both ponies to safety but as the two automatons seemed to change her mind with lead. She now only tried to distract them flying around trying to dodge the incoming attacks, hoping cross would get the message she was trying to distract them now.

Sky flew towards the house, hoping to lead the them away from cross and the other pony. She had gotten close to the house, bullets flying around her. She was glad that not any of them had hit her yet, she neared the door to the house. Sky was almost at the entrance when a jolt of pain shot through right wing. She did make it inside the house but landing hard into the floor, sliding on trough and finally crashed into the wall on the far side of the door.

(#ooc Oh, I know. I was merely saying as I describe things. Stormy doesn't know you fake or real name.)

Stormy saw the bullets aimed at Sky as she dodged the many bullets. He grinned as saw her true colors. She was a brave soul indeed to risk herself like that. He peeked out from the door to see that poor colt seem unable to move and Cross was defending him.

Stormy rushed over and slipped his head under him, lifting him on his back. "Cover would you Cross Roads?" Stormy knew those robots would either hit poor Sky or switch targets do to his movement and there scanners always attacked magic units as tactic.

Cross was lighting up the area with his horn's glow. Stormy ran without waiting for replies or input. They had very few moment before those robots decided to light them up again and Stormy wasn't one for enjoying getting a bullet in him if he could avoid such a thing.

Runs to jump in the doorway with the colt on his back.

Amity just grunted a bit as he was carried across the field on the back of Stormy. It was a very bumpy and nauseating ride since Stormy had to be quick on his hooves, but why would Amity be complaining? This was the first time anypony helped him out in a long time. The last time he had received help from some pony was with Athanix, but Amity hated his guts. So with a weak voice, Amity said to Stormy;

"Thanks."

A word he hadn't even said in two years.

Cross heard "Cover, would you, Cross Roads?" and he re-channeled his energy
into forcing back the hail of bullets. He could not see his compatriots taking safety behind.

Cross began his slow retreat to door, gritting his teeth with every step that he took back nearly pushing him over. Cross stood his ground, and once the sight of the steel door filled his peripheral vision, he dropped the shield, unleashing the lead storm blowing past Cross's mane.

With hop and a skip, he threw himself through the door. Landing right next to a wounded Amber.

"Stormy, shut that door! We need to arm ourselves"

The edges of Sky's were already fading, it nearly covered her entire vision. It soon went away as the sound of a guns shots filled the house holes.

Sky's body wouldn't respond, but she persisted and soon she moved her hoof, 'thats a start.' She moved the other and soon moved her hindlegs, she sat on her haunches staring at the door. She looked at her wing it was shot and it bleeding rather precariously, She immediately saw a curtain covering a window and tore off a long strip.bullets filled the open space between the window, and anywhere in the house. She tried the best she could to bandage her wing lying down, she knew it wouldn't hold up for long. If they got the job done by then, there probably be some medical supplies inside that bunker.

Sky turned to see there were none of her comrades there. "buck me." Sky was in house, and outside with two robots shooting up the place.

Amity pushed himself up with his two front hoofs and lifted his wounded back hoof so that he stood on three legs. Seeing as walking would be impossible, with a light flick of his wings, Amity hopped from point to point looking over the racks of junk in search for some health potions. And if he was lucky he might just find what he was looking for. All the while sounds of bullets could be heard from outside.

First things first, health potions. Then getting rid of those robots. Something did catch his eye though as he bounded around the room.

A pair of throwing knifes.

Albeit he couldn't use them as regular knifes, but he already had one of those. Quickly stuffing them into a hidden coat pocket, he continued his search.

Stormy shut the door and ran into the room and started looking around for anything. He needed something, anything to fight these robots. He needed a goddamn weapon. "Sky could you be a dear and help the colt?" He asked as he threw a pile of pencils out of the way.

"Cross, do you by chance have clue where the weapons are? We need them." Stormy s scanned around for door nearby. That door can't hold those robots for long. If there aren't guns they'll need to put doors and area from them. The robots would stop attacking if they got out of range.
