The Battle of Stableton

The roar of the battle could be felt all the way to Cross's position, he along with Roid, the Mayor, and Surgeon could feel the vibration, Only the general crackled with glee anytime any of the ponies got hit, slaver or militia.

Cross didn't want this, he needed them to survive, so he could tell them he was sorry.

The surgeon was now rolling on the floor laughing, ricochets were bouncing off the Force Field like wild fire, and somehow he found that hiliarious.

Still they needed Cross's help...and he needed to maintain his ruse for just a bit longer. Cross looked at Heartcrusher's squads firing position, they were expertly trained, spreading far out and covering each other, only one of them was close enough for Cross to reach with his telekinetic grip,....and pull the pins from the grenades strapped to his belt.....

If Lucky hadn't just emptied his rifle, he would've pumped Trails full of lead.

"Don't EVER do that again!" Lucky yelled, still in a rage.

He reloaded his weapon, noted he only had twenty-three bullets left, and then followed the directions given to him.

Ashen simply stared at Trails as he leaped int combat, not getting the chance to mention that his own skills at generating shields weren't the best. So, knowing this, he turned to the slavers, ducking down as he horn began to glow again. He reached out with his magic and grabbed the rifles of two of the slavers, trying to rip them out of their mouths, or at least stop them from firing while they tried to wrestle control of their guns.

"I suggest somepony shoot at those while they're otherwise distracted." he commented as he tried to maintain control of the double-telekinetic grip.

Kira was really confused as the fighting around the square started to escalate more and more. The bullets flying, explosions and worst of all the fires. The fire that the slavers have started had spread to fast and almost set all the building around the square on fire, she looked at the burning skeleton of what once had been her home. The world seamed to dissipate around her as she looked at the flames she heard noting ells but the flames and her own heart as all she her she ever had burned to the ground.

Kira usually saw her self as a nice and positive gryphon and tried to stay on good therms with everypony around her, but this had just crossed a line that she did not even know it was there. These slaver had to pay.

She did not care about all the bullets that could kill her if they hit the right spot these slaver had to die. She ran over the barricades and came up on the rear of the slavers as she quickly stared dispatch them without any though of self preservation. Quickly she threw out and ignited two of her remaining dynamite sticks and threw each of them at a slaver, and just as the explosives left her talons she turned them towards a single raider jumping on to him like the bird of prey she was trying the rip his eyes out of his skull with talons and beak.

He made no sudden moves, nor did he reach for his weapon. He just stood there for a moment, letting the dragon get a good look at him. The gryphon had his wings broken and secured with a sheet, and he was non aggressive. That should be enough to get the lizard to cool down a bit and relax.

Spark Fire sighed, sniffed the air one more time and focused his eyes to notice that the grey blob was a griffon. "Well Shit, he called my bluff." Tired dragon muttered underneath his breath.

He continued to watch puzzled that the Griffon wasn't attacking the obviously weakened Dragon. After all, he had been attacked before by glory hungry ponies looking to make a name for themselves as a dragon slayer. It was then that it hit him.... This Griffon was injured, and bad.

Spark Fire stumbled toward the griffon, Ponderously."Your not... your not a slaver are you? No Doubt you also saw through my feeble attempt to... to scare you off. eh?" The dragon wheezed out.

He Stuck out his claw, "Its not very safe for either of us to be alone, considerin this place is rife with trouble. Say, you help me get back on my feet, I'll watch your back and we'll both come out of this alive. He said with a weak grin.

Techno pumped a bit more energy into the force field he was generating while he worked on Starry more at the request (or more command) of Lucky. Sadly, the thing she needed most was blood, and that was something he didn't have. He did his best anyways, patching up the many bullet holes, most of which the bullet hadn't penetrated far at all and he could just extract with precise levitation. He pulled out and fed Starry another potion and started to move her further behind cover. His shield made a near constant *ting*ing, due to the large number of bullets he was keeping out. "Starry should be fine, but she's down for now!" he called up to the others, reporting Starry's condition to the others.

Starry focused her magic. The light around her horn flickered on account of how weary she was, but she had started removing her armor. "This'll only slow me down... I'd have been better off running into battle wearing cardboard."

She had removed her helmet. The would to her head was very clear, the bullet at the center of the bloody, matted mess of her mane was actually visible, if one were to part her hair. She proceeded to remove her metal armor, one piece at a time. Her deep blue coat was barely visible behind the layer of blood which enveloped her chest and her forehooves. "I should'n't have given that cardboard ranger armor to Cross, I could've used it."

Shutter just stared in disbelief at Trails as he ran off.

""What? I-I can't use this stuff! And what's an Arrowhead formation?!! AUGH!"

With a groan, Shutter shoved the shotgun over to Techno and Starry, before addressing Techno.

"If any Slavers come by, use this to keep you both safe, okay? I know it's a weighty thing, but if they came around the corner this close, I doubt you could miss..."

With that done, he then looked down at his friend.

"Starry...don't you die on me, okay? You're the first real best friend I've had, and I'll be damned if I'm losing you to this fight!"

Having said what he needed to, Shutter pulled out his pistol and ran after the group, trying to take the position Trails had told him to take...he was much better being stealthy, but he would try his plan at least for the beginning...

The Slaver's stood their ground and held their fire despite the sudden onslaught from all sides. Their staggering proved fortunate as two grenades went off, killing the two at the top of the stairs. It proved a second time lucky when the newly arrived gryphon's dynamite landed a little too close to a unicorn with a spent casing for a cutie mark and sent her flying. The slaver was still alive but crippled badly.

The bottom most Slaver didn't have time to react before he was knocked to the ground by the gryphon's talons. The buck tried to fight back but his feeble swings did nothing but mess up the gryphon's feathers. Trails kept up the assault, wounding the next pony in the staggered line with a shot to the chest. A bullet from a the wounded slaver's rifle managed to bounce around their shield and take off a few hairs from his mane.

Lucky's little rampage before had left the slaver's unimpressed. All of his shots hit the ground before them, only serving to kick more dust into the air. A raider with a red stripe going down their back and a tomahawk for a cutie mark fired at him with a laugh. the bullets broke through the shield and buried themselves shallowly into his right shoulder. A shallow wound that wouldn't kill him, but would definitely slow him down and hurt in the morning.

Shutter was without a doubt the luckiest pony in the line of fire. Luna and Celestia took care to make sure nothing came close to the buck. Doubtlessly Trails throwing a shotgun at him had put him in more danger than he was now if this kept up. And if there was any justice in the wasteland it would.

Lightning kept the remaining slaver's distracted with his aerial acrobatics. The tomahawk one got aggrivated and yelled at him, trying to fire but his gun was ripped from his hooves at that moment as did the pony closest to him, the two slavers shared a look of 'what the fuck'. The disarm sent the bullets on a wild arc across the sky. A few manage to find there way to him but had lost all velocity and seemed to bounce off his coat. Seemed as if luck was holding up after all for these ponies.

(summary Two slavers dead, three wounded, three undamaged. Two undamaged slavers have been disarmed. Trails has a graze, Lucky has a wounded shoulder that will slow him down.

Lightning gritted his teeth as he watched the team make their assault. He wasn't even sure if his bullets were hitting anything but he was glad that he wasn't alone in attacking the bunker. A couple slavers seemed to drop to the ground as somepony managed to hit their mark. His eye would glance quickly toward another pony as he had his gun aimed right at him!

Quickly pulling out of his dive, he swooped upward quickly and went into a fast barrel roll. Lightning felt some bullets nail his body but thanks to his height and speed, the bullets must have lost it's power due to the high climb.

He quickly turned around and observed the battle below. 'Not many slavers left now...' he thought to himself. Coming back for another attack run, this time, he dived toward the slavers from right side instead of the left. Aiming his weapons at the slavers once more, he let loose another burst of bullets.

(Roll to shoot at least one slaver. Gun 50)

Lucky limped in his place behind Shutter, his crippled limb getting in his way. He ground his jaw and continued moving, his only consolation being the thought of a new scar and a drink after the battle was over.

The blood loss, however, would soon take it's toll.

Lucky knew this, but decided to keep moving forward. He could patch himself up later.

Kes gave the dragon another glance over. He wasn't usually one for helping others, but in this case there was a distinct tactical advantage to doing so. He would help the Dragon, and in return be helped himself.

Fair deal if ever there was one.

"Let's move." Kes rumbled out grabbing onto the dragons extended claw and giving it a single firm shake; again, not his normal policy but he would make an exception. Giving his Pipbuck a quick glance Kes saw that the two of them were still a good way's away from the town square. If the sounds coming from that way were any indication, there was quite the battle going on there. Kes wanted to get in on the action, but first he had to fulfill this little obligation.

Issue was finding a solution quickly enough. There were plenty of corpses to loot lying around, but most looked to be Raiders. They would probably have some chems and ammo, but nothing good for healing. They needed to find a healer, a clinic, or some pony with a health potion.

Hopefully the next street beyond the ally would hold one of those three things.

Trails felt the hairs on his main rustle with the bullet. He cocked his repeater and took aim at Mr. Tomahawk. Lucky was clearly in serious pain from the raider's shots. Time for some payback.

(Three more shots w/ the same targets plus 11 to shot, 12 to dodge and any hits taken)

Kira did think as she just kept clawing and pecking at the pony beneath her, she kept going and going until the ponies face was nothing more then a unrecognisable mess of blood and gore. Her attention moved elsewhere as she stopped her relentless assault on the ponies face not caring if he was alive or not. She moved over to the next of the slavers not caring to dodge any incoming fire, this time she did not take her time with her pray. She pulled out one of her dynamite sticks and quickly stabbed it in to one of the slaves eyes just after lighting it, after this she moved away jumping on to the next slaver closest to the one she had just attacked.

(Explosives 55, Unarmed 21 or Melee 21)

Shutter would have continued to dart forwards, the shrapnel and bullets almost seeming to slow down due to the sheer adrenaline coursing through his body right now. He was panicked, no secret about that, but he wasn't going to let these slavers have the only family he had left!

His gun at the ready, Shutter fired at the closest threat he could see, as he tried to keep up with Trails.

(Guns 34, Shutter's probably aiming at any slaver who has a weapon still and isn't being attacked)

Tossing the assault rifles behind him, Ashen focused his magic again and reached out to grab the rifles of two more slavers, once again attempting to rip them out of their mouths and disarm them.

(Magic 40)

The Tomahawk raider fell back after a shot from Trails' repeater lodged itself in his lungs. As he weezed dying on the steps he returned fire. Several of his bullets breaking through the shield and hitting Trails square in the chest. Trails fell to the ground, sharing the same wound with as his raider counterpart.

Kira's rampage continued with the young gryphon's bloodlust and rage. The raider who had been unlucky enough to get his face torn of was proven even further unlucky as he had to survive his wound in agony. The next pony on the receiving end of her attacks was
more 'fortunate' as his head exploded. Kira's final target shared a similar fate as she clawed out the buck's thoat.

Two of the three raiders who still had their guns turned them on Kira as she finished off the unicorn she had blown across the battlefield earlier. However Ashen came to the rescue again and tore the guns from their gums, taking a few teeth with them. Shutter fired at one of the two remaining guards who managed to avoid any form of harm and missed.

Flash fired a burst at the same target as shutter and missed as well, getting shot at again and again somehow managing to avxoid than a minor bruise from the bullet. Lucky however did not share Flash's, well luck. Hefell to the ground as his other shoulder was peppered with gunfire by the remaining unaffected raider.

(Summary: 4 raiders dead three wounded, 1 unaffected, none of the wounded are armed. Trails is severely wounded as is lucky. Will edit any errors later.)

Lucky hit the ground hard as a spray of bullets lodged into his good shoulder.

"Motherfucking, cocksucking, shit eating, CUNTWHORES!" He roared in pain and anger. "The ONE Goddess damn time I need to live up to my fucking name is the one time that fate decides to take a shit all over me!"

He rolled over onto his belly, and took aim at the last unharmed slaver, and shot three times, his makeshift battle saddle barely handling the recoil from the weapon.

(action: three shots at the unaffected slaver [51 gun skill])

Trails coughed as his left lung filled with blood.God dammit that hurts. He got, shakily to his hooves and slapped the lever on his repeater shut. He spat blood and aimed for the last armed raider, firing from the hip and coughing up blood all over the action.

(Three shots plus 11)

Shutter would stop his run on seeing Trails get injured, but moved on at a slower pace when he saw him get back on his hooves.
Quickly, he tried to aid him in firing on the last Slaver...He did not look good at all, and the sooner this fight was over, the sooner Techno could come fix him up. (And also Lucky, if the string of expletives from his direction was any indicator that he was injured as well...)

The final raider was lit up in a glorious managery of violence. Trails and Lucky scored two hits each, sending the raider to his knees coughing blood and wheezing as his eyes quickly grew darker. The raider somehow found the strength to shoulder his rifle and fire at the group again. Shutter sent one more bullet at the raider, this one lodging itself deep in their brain. The raider's shots went wild as his body fell back, clipping Trails' left foreleg and taking a chunk out of it, grazing Shutter and Lucky with shallow wounds.

(Summary 5 dead, 3 wounded, 0 alive or armed. Trails is badly wounded, Lucky is crippled but both wounds are only moderate, Shutter is only minorly hit.)

The Surgeon General, Cross Roads, and Roid Rage exited the bunker via Cross's teleportation spell. Immediately upon exiting, Cross threw up a force field across the narrow street up to the cliff, to cover their escape.

"That's a good boy, Cross," The Surgeon General said, "Meet us at the top of the mountain, and we'll get the real plan rolling!" he cackled maniacally as he and Roid Rage galloped toward the cliff.

Trails spat out his repeater and ran to the bunker. He was running solely on adrenaline now, especially as his bloody was only in his lungs or the ground it seemed. He unholstered his pistol and fired six shots before Cross managed to get away. He swore loudly and emptied the rest of the clip into the cememt in frustration as the buck got away.

After the third round of bullets scoured over him, leaving only a few new minor cuts in his ear and cheek, Lucky sighed.

"That's more like it," he wheezed, as the anger slowly ebbed down and the pain quickly rose to replace it. He looked at both of his shoulders, and wasn't pleased with what he saw.

A massive amount of lead had been imbedded deep in both legs, and he was losing a lot of blood fast from what appeared to be close to ten wounds. He tried shifting his shoulders to see if he could, and ended up gasping as the fiery tendrils of white hot agony surged through his battered limbs.

After the searing pain had ended, Lucky spat to the side of himself and laid his head down. 'Well, I guess I'm not going anywhere for a while. I hope Techno heads this way soon, or we're fucked.'

He saw Shutter standing by where Trails had been.

"Hey, go find Techno and try to get him over here. If you can't get him to, atleast bring me a vial of med-x, would yah? I can't get up."

(Going to bed. Feel free to god mod me, I can't move anyway. Don't use up anymore than the other two bullets in my gun though, I've only got like 15 bullets left XD)
