The Milk Run (soldiers) Empty The Milk Run (soldiers)

Brass gnawed on his toothpick for a few minutes while he waited for Trails' additions to the ranks to file in. They ranged in skill level from 'seriously fucking green' to 'workable'. Regardless, they'd do.

"Follow me." He barked, spinning on his backhooves and trotting briskly out of the tent.

The milk run was about 20 minutes away, the most eastern trench line of Bravo. It served as the home to the majority of the newly recruited mercenaries. Brass took his recruits to one of the dozens of tables covered in gear and turned to them.

"Grab yourself a suit of armor, a gun, and a knife. You're gonna need all of them, trust me." He barked. "There's a Quartermaster back by the big tent we just came from if you want to trade up from the basic kit. Just remember that it's gonna cost you. I'll be back tomorrow to give y'all your first orders, feel free to get your bearings while you wait."

    Loot List:

    Everypony gets

    Hunting Rifle (.308) [Support]
    DM:52 AP Cost: 15 ST Req:6
    Ammo Cap.:5 Skill Req:50 Value:2200 Crit Multiplier x 2
The powerful bolt-action hunting rifle is a reliable companion for many ponies out in the wasteland.

    OR

    Marksmare Carbine (5.56mm)
    DM:24 (x3) AP Cost: 8 ST Req:4
    Ammo Cap.:20 Skill Req:100 Value:5200 Crit Multiplier x 1
A accurate scoped rifle that was often used by special forces during the war.

    Combat Knife
    DM:18 AP Cost: 4 ST Req:3
    Skill Req:50 Value:500 Crit Multiplier x 2
An effective knife, once wielded by Equestrian soldiers.

    AL Trooper Armor
    DT- 8
    Value- 1050

The average AL soldier can expect to wear the same armor that his father and granfather did. The Apostolov have been forced to scavenge for all of their materials, and armor always takes second priority to arms. Because of this the Apostolov Trooper Armor is tattered and patched together using scrap metal, well road signs, and string. Not the most protective armor, but it gets the job done.

Sky followed Brass outside the tent to be taken somewhere else, only for Sky to gaze around the place she was at. She followed Brass through the trenches to reach the eastern most part of the trench, which only took 20 minutes to get to. Sky looked over to the table full of Stuff and looked at the mediocre equipment that was available, she had better stuff than this random crap. She had even better equipment and probably should just stick with it. But wanted to get the weapons to sell, she needed to get more caps. She walk by the table, grabbing what she and took the marks mare carbine and AL armor.

    Acquired:
    -Marksmare Carbine
    -AL Armor

Sky had her ghost armor from that mission not to long ago, only keeping her sniper rifle and the combat knife she already had. "Keeping my own stuff, if isnt to much to bother. But this stuff seems like downgraded equipment to me." Sky said with her sniper slung on her back, she really loved this ghost armor.

"Going to quartermaster to find some better stuff, if anyone needs me. Thats where ill be." Sky said as she followed Brass's instructions to get back to the quartermaster.

Dash furrowed his eyebrows when one of the weapons being offered was a Hunting Rifle... Well... At least HIS new Hunting rifle, that he had just bought, had a scope, and was from a friend, and wasn't a 200-year-old POC that had corroded in a hole for a majority of them like the one he had gotten rid of in great prejudice from Arlingtrot. Besides, Dash had to admit that the Marksmare Carbine that was being offered to them was bucking COOL LOOKING, he cast a glance to Sky as she refused it, "Eh... Don't buck it till you try it, I'd say." he said, taking his share in the form of the Carbine, Knife and armor.

    Acquired:

    -Marksmare Carbine
    -Combat Knife
    -AL Trooper Armor

Dash now felt a little silly with how much he was carrying with him. Upon hearing that they were facing the Enclave, Dash had decided that he'd haul along his heavier equipment in his Combat Armor and NLR Helmet. It's protection would likely be more to his benefit than the restriction it imposed on his movements, however slight.

Blast glanced at the free equipment and decided that for this climate and from what this war-zone looked like simple will be better. He levitated one of the better condition Hunting rifles and grabs a set of armor he begins putting on the armor and spies the Combat knives on the table and levitates it up and looks at his reflection in the blade for a few seconds he quickly sheaths it and finishes donning the armor. he stands in a corner and checks his new rifle to make sure it worked.

Night-Shade grabbed the Marksman Carbine, a combat knife, and the AL armor. Night Shade liked the new weapon he got, this Marksman Carbine made his old varmint rifle obsolete. Shade had better armor than he was given, so he decided to just put away the Al armor. He would keep on his customized NLR armor, hopefully none of the ponies in AL see him as an enemy becasue of his faction based armor. Shade didn't have his NLR helmet, so he just pulled his Night-eye goggles out of his saddle bags and put it on his head.

Shade already had a combat knife, but it never hurt anypony to have two. So he sheathed HIS combat knife inside of his duster, and kept the new one in his normal sheath. He decided that his lever-action shotgun, Cowpony repeater, and new Marksmen Carbine were all he needed. Shade saw that Sky was heading to the quartermaster, he would wait till she was finished with him then go sell/buy things.

    Aquired:

    -AL armor
    -Combat Knife
    -Marksmen Carbine

The Milk Run (soldiers) Empty Re: The Milk Run (soldiers)

Post by Bakewell Tart Mon Sep 10, 2012 7:22 pm

If there was one thing Bakewell was used to in the wasteland, it was following orders. She unquestioningly began to follow Brass at his command even though her stomach was still twisting itself into horrible nerve-wracking knots. She was stuck here now. The others would think horrible things about her if she deserted and while her miserable wicked self deserved any disdain given to her by other (and better) ponies, that didn’t mean she wanted the disdain to occur. She very very much didn’t want that. Thoughts such as those served to occupy her mind during the mare’s twenty minute trek to the trench.

Upon getting to the equipment, Bakewell eyed the piles of gear. The armor looked extremely discouraging; The chef had a hard time imagining that the gear would be as protective as even Gecko hide. She mentally congratulated herself for bringing her own set and hoped that nopony would have a problem with her wearing the sturdier stuff currently upon her. The knife seemed good enough, but she already had a faithful combat knife of her own. Still, it couldn’t hurt to carry an extra, right? Maybe Somepony else would break theirs somehow and need a new one on the battlefield? She decided that she would take the knife and armor even though she probably would not use them, just in case.

The gun was a different matter altogether. Both designs were probably stronger than her rarely used dinky little pistol, but they both looked complicated to hold let alone fire. A few beads of sweat actually appeared on the mares face as she subjected both guns with the sturdiest look of concentration perhaps ever seen upon her beige visage. Which gun was the correct choice? Which was wrong? What would happen if she picked incorrectly? Eventually she timidly reached out and grabbed a Marksmare, simply because two out of three ponies she had been watching picked it, and they probably knew more about guns than she ever would. The earth pony waited one second, two, three. Nothing jumped out at her face to beat her to death with the weapon, which made her feel slightly bolder. She stepped back and scanned the crowd for familiar faces.

Blitz followed where Brass lead them, trotting along for 20 minutes, looking around at things and grinning slightly to himself. THey arrived before he knew it and he looked at the tatty armour that the army seemed to have, giving a bit of a testing nudge and a wiggle with his magic to see if it would break upon being touched.

"I think I'll be fine with the armour I've got on." He said before moving on and picking up a Marksmare carbine and a combat knife, floating them both in his red magic field before he started off towards the quartermaster's tent. Before he left, he spotted Bakewell, seemingly having concerns with what gun to pick, kind of weird of a thing to do, but no matter. "Hey, Bakewell, you could always head to the quartermaster, get something better for you. I'm on my way over there now." He said, gesturing with his head for her to follow, if she wanted to of course.

Stepping in and walking up to whoever the quartermaster may be, Blitz would set the knife down, along with the rifle. "What sort of equipment have you got that's better than these? I'm not complaining, but something deadlier is always good for clearing out your problems, right?"

Lightning followed Brass without another word, watching as he led them away from the others and moving toward one of the main trenches on the Eastern side (he was watching his Pipbuck closely). Looks like this was going to be their little home. Brass brought them to several tables, gear scattered across the top of it in neat piles. Looks like this was all for them. Luckily for him though, he didn't need any of this stuff. He could sell this back to the QM and get some more ammo or other things for himself.

Looking at the others, it seemed many of them had the same idea. Lightning would just silently pick up the Markmare, the Combat Knife, and the armor. He had begun walking to meet the QM but he had noticed Bakewell in the crowd, looking rather lost. The pegasus knew that Bakewell wasn't the best shooter in the crowd but Bakewell wasn't the worst he seen either. Lightning walked up to Bakewell and smiled a little, "Going with the Marksmare, huh? Come with me, let's go to the Quartermaster. Could use a friend to come along anyways."

“Quartermaster?” Bakewell whispered to herself as she watched Blitz gesture. That’s right, the yelling and in charge pony had mentioned being able to buy stuff from a Quartermaster. Bakewell, a perplexed look upon her face, was about to raise a hoof to follow Blitz when Lightning Flash walked up to her with a smile that she quickly returned, even if her eyes failed to shift from their nervous and confused appearance.

“Oh, uh, yeah!” the mare replied to the blue pegasus’ offer with as much confident energy as she could muster given the current situation. This gun was called a Marksmare? That was… probably something she was expected to know. Better not let anypony realize that she was bumbling about without a clue though, she certainly didn’t want to seem useless.

“Okay.” She agreed as started walking in the direction Blitz had gone in an attempt to please everypony by following Blitz and accompanying Flash at the same time.

Upon reaching the Quartermaster, Bakewell followed what she had seen Blitz do and placed the knife down. A few moments of careful thought later and she had placed the gun down as well after giving Flash and Blitz both an uneasy glance, as if checking to see whether or not they approved.

“Do you have anything else? Not that these are bad, but…”

Dash nodded when they were presented to the Quartermaster to do their last minute trading before their given assignment. The first things he got rid of was the Trooper Armor, which was probably as worthless as it looked, he needed some extra cps anyhow. Next, he decided to finally get rid of the 9mm pistol that had been burning a hole in its holster by simply sitting, unused for as long as it had.

He realized, however, that his trove of caps was lacking for what he saw. A shiny .44 magnum revolver in all his mejest and glory. Dash's ears splayed back, even if he sold what he didn't need, he wouldn't have enough. He then remembered something that he had forgotten a time back, the Luna Uniform that he had gotten for Sky! He trotted over to blue mare, "Sky, right? I'm sorry, I just remembered the Uniform I was supposed to give you! Do you still want it for the 1000 caps?" He hoped she would say yes. The weapon he wanted was a massive upgrade.

Bakewell eyed the various goods. The guns didn’t really seem particularly noteworthy as far as she could tell. The mare was pretty sure that she had fired a 10mm once before, perhaps it had been Flashes? She knew he had given her a gun at some point, but the kind of weapon had hardly seemed important in the blur of her stable’s events.

The melee weapons, while not bad, didn’t look like anything particularly suited to Bakewell that she didn’t own already. The armor fell mostly into the same boat. But Blitz and Flash seemed to think that she should get something here.

“…Sorry.” The mare muttered as she gathered the combat knife and Marksmare back up and backed away a few steps. Enough to stay out of the way, but not far enough to get out of sight and earshot of Flash and Blitz, should they want anything after completing their transactions.

Shade saw that Blast Cap was trying to buy a grenade rifle. From his knowledge. a grenade rifle was around 300 caps. Blast had 200 caps apparently and a trade in of goods. Shade decided to do a good dead for his friend and lend him some caps

"Here Blast Cap, you can borrow 200 caps from me to buy your grenade rifle, and maybe even some ammo." said Shade to Blast Cap. "Also I would advice you to keep that Hunting rifle. You'll need it."

Dash smiled when Sky gave him the caps, he then went into his bags and retieved the uniform. He had kept it as neat as he could have, nothing was on it that a quick wash couldn't fix. Once he had the caps he went over how much he had and how much he needed for the gun.

    Caps: 1199 +1000 (Uniform)= 2199

He then went back to the Quartermaster, and when he was availiable, made his sells and purchases. He had bought Lightning Flash's Hunting Rifle due to the scope and being in much better condition than the others that had presented themselves to him. So he offed the one he had from Arlingtrot, which he had initially thought wasn't worth all that much. Besides, he got this sweet-looking Marksmare Carbine earlier!

    (Barter 20, Caps 2199)

    Selling:

Hunting Rifle (PoS from Arlingtrot): 2200
    AL Trooper Armor: 1050
    Leather Barding: 160
    .357 Pistol: 110

Sky squeed as she was able to get a uniform from the actual Luna army from the pre-war, something as rare as she wanted to treasure forever and happily hugged the suit. Only to put it away as she wanted to keep it from the cold and looked to Dasha and hugged him greatly, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Sky said and fluttered her wings. "You dont know how much this means to me." Sky said as she looked around, before she Kissed Dash and hugged him before she looked back, still waiting to trade away her weapons to the quartermaster.

The Milk Run (soldiers) Empty Re: The Milk Run (soldiers)

Post by Galactic Dash Wed Sep 12, 2012 3:58 am

Dash blinked when the younger mare was absolutely excited to receive the prewar uniform. Dash thought it was nice, but he found the caps more useful at the moment at least. Regardless, it made the pony happy so Dash felt happy as well, "Well, I'm glad you like i-." Dash got no farther before the blue pegasus pony was kissing him. Dash's pupils shrank as he processed what was going on. This made 4 mares that had kissed him, his mother Willow Whisper, Meadowsong, Twisted Vision... and now Sky... Honest to the goddesses, Dash would have liked it if it had just stayed 2, but there wasn't much he could do. As Sky broke off and went back to the quartermaster as well, dash just stood there for a moment. He was a buck, so positive interactions with mares was good for him... Right? No... That mare was way too young... Dash shook his head and returned to what he was doing, blushing slightly, he was so confused.... Again.

Blast saw Night-Shade toss him some caps. "If your sure then you wont regret your generosity." Blast removed the Hunting Rifle from the trade.

Sky grinned at the amount of Caps she has made and smiled greedily took all the caps she was offered, unloaded all the weapons she didn't need and quickly put all the caps into her saddlebags and smiled. Only to see her pipbuck count on the caps go to 13000, she was one rich mare indeed.

Cross hurried over, eager to make sure he got a shot at the quartermaster before the rest of the group. He pushed his way past Sky and slammed some caps on the table along with some of the gear he was given earlier.

"I'll take the Incinerator, just take the cost of the gear from the price and I'll pay the rest in caps"
