Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
I do want to speed up things, but it would be a waste to erase everything that has been done so far. I would prefer if the next GM post had all the characters leave the stable, rather than start anew.

Pendant, since you've been working REAL hard lately and I've been sitting on my arse during vacation, I think you deserve a break.
I'll ensure that the next post sees the characters out of the Vault.

Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
Xerxes, Nitro, and Hawke are all accepted. Keep in mind that some alterations to background may be needed by the time these characters are actually introduced into the storyline.
Rose Petals is NOT accepted. Reasons will be PM'd.

(Ponies, Zebras, Buffalo, Donkeys, Goats)
Size: 4 hooves
Build: Slender
Coat: Dark Grey Fur

Biography
Galling was a simple enclave medic who was raised by her father and by the enclave itself. She made many friends in the organization during her life and maintains a certain flare for keeping them. Having been trained to be its top medic, she knew her way inside and out of treating ponies both in and out of power armor. She has seen ponies die from just being as stupid as checking over a gun with the clip in and safety off. She looks down on anyone she believes to be stupid, most of them in the enclave. She wants to one day be free to travel the wastes and help anyone she sees need help. She knows that these dreams are a false hope and that by having them, she will never be full enclave material. She treats everyone with respect. The only flaw in her personality is that during stressful situations she develops a god complex not doubting her own ability when dealing with wounds.

- Character Sheet - Project True Grit
Basic Information
Name: Ebele
Race: Zebra
Gender: Female
Occupation: Wanderer
Physical Description
Size: Normal
Build: Average
Coat: Black/White stripes
Mane: Black/White stripes
Tail: Black/White stripes
Cutie/Glyph Mark: Symbol for mercy
Biography
Ebele is the first generation of zebra in her family to be born, and raised in the Equestrian Wasteland after her family escaped from Stable 3. The Stable was composed of 50% zebras and 50% ponies; it was the home of her family since before the great war, before finally opening its door to the world before she was born. However, months after, as her parents ventured into the Wasteland with her in tow, they were attacked and captured by Slavers. Ebele was purchased raised as a slave until the age of fourteen when her owner was attacked and killed by a local gang. Ebele managed to escape just barely with her life, but would always remember the hardships she endured, and why she fought now to protect others from facing the same fate as she had.
She matured into a young mare alone, relying only on herself and her wits to survive. Once old enough, she began searching for her parents. She managed to hunt down and kill most of the slavers involved in their capture and selling, and followed the trail back to two different ponies. One had died already, and her family explained that Ebele's father had been shot for disobedience by the now-dead owner. Ebele was given reparations by the cowering family, and she went on her way to search for her mother's buyer.
She found her as well; or, her tombstone. She found the pony who had bought her. A vile stallion who claimed to have "rocked her all night long, and worked her all day long", until she finally passed from exhaustion one day while removing rubble. Ebele was two months too late. She did not spare this pony's life. She searched the place, and did manage to find only one thing. Her mother's Stable 3 barding, which she turned into armor and now wears everywhere she goes in honor of her parents, and to remember them by.
She now wanders from place to place, helping anywhere she can. Whether it be to assist build a town, protect a town, help traders, help doctors, help scientists, help fellow Wastelanders by any means; she did, and still does it. However cruel she may seem to those whom deserve it, she is a kind mare with merciful tenancies. She cannot find it in her nature to prolong somepony's death. If she has to kill somepony, she makes it quick and painless, regardless of how bad they are or how much pain they've brought.

Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
I would point out that "THE OUTSIDE IS CERTAIN DOOM" is not the general school of thought among the Vault Dwellers. It's more along the lines of "The outside is strange and alien, and we don't know what to expect. I heard it's a barren rock."

Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
I would greatly appreciate if that, for the moment, ponies who want to sign up
(THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THOSE ALREADY IN THE THREAD) could remove them, perhaps to a word document, or at least put them in a spoiler.
For the moment, I'm recalling all "Accepted" decisions. Ponies who want to sign up must PM me, chatzy, or Steam chat me on how they want their character. Certain canon must be met, mmk?
I hope you understand.

Here's my new character. I know penny already approved him, but I figured I should post his sheet anyway.
[EDIT: Added tropes!]
[EDIT: Added tropes!]
- Spoiler:
Basic Information
Name: Scrapper
Race: Diamond Dog
Gender: Male
Age: 45
Occupation: Bounty Hunter
Physical Description
- Size: Average
- Build: Strong, Athletic
- Ear Type: Pointed
- Tail Type: long & slim
- Fur/Pattern: short, light brown colour with white patches. starting to turn silver with age, many scars. Longer white fur around the muzzle, much akin to a short, scruffy beard. Almost always wears a brown sleeveless leather longcoat and accompanying cowpony hat.
Personality:
Scrapper has been hardened by his life in the wasteland. He is very pragmatic when making decisions, and has a tendency to be rather gruff in his dealings with other people. After several traumatic experiences in the past, he has become rather introverted and dislikes getting emotionally close to or attached to others, appearing to be rather hard-hearted. While he isn't soft-spoken, Scrapper doesn't mince words or beat around the bush. He's quick and to the point. In addition, he has a profound dislike for the 'scum' of the wasteland. Granted, this can have a wide definition, covering everything from cannibals to bandits to corrupt town officials. Scrapper has a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later when dealing with these kind of individuals, leading to him having led a relatively successful career as a bounty hunter. Although he can be antisocial at times and likes being on his own, he has nothing against working with or traveling as a group, provided his team mates aren't "Clopheads with aim so bad you'd be safest standin' right in front o' them!" He has little tolerance for idiots, bigots, hypocrites, and people who needlessly endanger others. While he isn't a hero by any stretch of the word, he isn't a villain, either. He lives in the grey area between the two extremes, guided by his personal code. Scrapper owes allegiance to no faction, preferring to lead a 'simpler' life wandering the wastes, living off of what he can scavenge or buy with caps earned collecting bounties on raiders, slavers, and anyone else he feels like killing who happens to have a price on their head. However, once you get past his scarred, gristly exterior, Scrapper has a heart of gold. It's buried deep, but it's there somewhere. He tries to do the right thing when he can. When pursuing a bounty, Scrapper is motivated more by an urge to clean up the wastes and prevent someone else from going through the same hardships he did than by caps, although revenge also plays a role. He also has a minor interest in history, and an appreciation of music. On the whole, Scrapper is a tough old bastard who does what he can to make the wasteland a better place. He's been through hell, but hasn't given up yet.
"I'm gonna be killin' 'em anyway, might as well be gettin' paid for it."
"Buck up, kiddo. We ain't dead yet, so keep shootin'."
"I ain't a hero. I just like killin' bad guys."
History:
Born into a small pack attempting to scratch out a living in the arid Mohoofe desert, Scrapper has led a long, rough life. Once he was old enough to work, Scrapper took on a job scavenging for his pack, attempting to find food for the dogs working the mines. He was moderately successful, usually managing to retrieve enough food and occasionally some other useful scrap and salvage. There really was nothing outstanding about Scrappers life at this point. He had several encounters with the mutants and monsters inhabiting the wasteland and received his fair share of injuries, but he eventually recovered from them all and continued to support his pack. He lived a difficult but relatively uneventful and even occasionally happy life. This trend continued for over 20 years. During that time Scrapper became accustomed to the Mohoofe, becoming a skilled scavenger and a good shot. He also accumulated a small collection of interesting trinkets and oddities that he found out in the wastes. The centerpiece of his collection was a remarkably intact pre-war book on the equestrian justice system. Although it wasn't the most unique piece he had, It was his favorite. He was intrigued by the way the ponies had run things before the balefire bombs went off, although he rarely had time to pursue his interest. While they were never prosperous, his pack managed to survive, which is more than what can be said for some. However, all that changed when they expanded their tunnels too far.
One day while he was out scavenging, Scrapper's pack was wiped out by hellhounds. They had extended their tunnels too far into the hellhound packs territory pursuing the scarce resources , and paid the price for their greed. Scrapper came home to a bloodbath. His pack had been slaughtered by the hellhounds, too poorly equipped to put up much resistance. After spending the night searching for survivors, Scrapper gave up the useless hunt. He was devastated. He lingered around his home for another few days, but in the end he had to move on. With nothing more than an old rifle, his book Equestrian law, and a pack full of salvage, Scrapper set off into the wasteland, never looking back. Relying on the skills developed hunting and scavenging for his now-extinct pack to keep him alive, he wandered without a purpose for years. One day, he had a chance encounter with a bounty hunter. Although Scrapper had done plenty of killing, the thought that somepony was willing to pay caps for the deaths of others had never crossed his mind. After some discussion, the bounty hunter took Scrapper under his wing and taught him the trade. Soon, he was putting the skills acquired hunting mutated wildlife in the Mohoofe to use tracking down raiders, slavers, and other 'undesirable' characters. However, he never took out a contract on those he deemed innocent, such as escaped slaves. For the most part, his old pre-war law book guided Scrappers paw. He continued to roam the wasteland, wandering from town to town clearing out raider nests and the like. He still didn't have a true cause in life, but he likes to think he was making a difference. Scrapper walked the wastes for over ten years, acquiring many scars, memories, and skills. He also acquired a pair of distinctive long-barreled revolvers, which he named Judge and Jury after being inspired by his book. While by no means a legend, Scrapper still made a name for himself.
Although he had a purpose now, Scrapper still felt as if his life was missing something. He was never too sure what exactly that something was, but is bothered him regardless. His life felt... Empty. It wasn't long until he found out why, however. Returning to town for payment, Scrapper met another wandering diamond dog who's story was much like his own: Pack wiped out, no purpose, no home. However, there was one big difference. The new diamond dog was female. The two decided to travel together, and before long they fell in love. The pair decided to settle down and try to start a new life, building a new pack from the remnants of the old ones. After clearing out a nest of giant ants, they set up shop. Years past, and Scrapper and his mate became the parents of several litters of pups. Thinks looked to be going well for once. They were relatively prosperous and leading a reasonably comfortable life. However, Scrapper made a fatal mistake: he allowed himself to go soft. After living that way for years, Scapper became accustomed to not having to fight anything more challenging than an occasional raider attack. As a result, when he left to trade some of the gems his family had mined up, they were unable to defend themselves from the collection of bandits that attacked not long after Scrapper left, and he was unable to make it back in time to rescue them. The bandits killed his kin, even the pups so young they had just barely opened their eyes, and ransacked his home. Once again having everything he loved stripped from him, Scrapper set out into the wasteland with Judge and Jury at his sides, the only friends he'd ever had that hadn't met a gristly end. He soon fell back into his old habits of hunting raiders, slavers, and the like. However, this time he didn't much care if there was a reward for their deaths. If there was, he would collect it and move on. If there wasn't a price on their heads, they died all the same. He vowed to kill as much of the scum as he could, both for revenge and to prevent them from harming anyone else. We join scrapper roughly two and a half years after the murder of his family...

Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
((ANTAGONIST))
Basic Information
Name: Amethyst (Amy for short)
Race: Pony
Gender: Female
Occupation: Bounty Hunter
Physical Description:
Size: Average
Build: Sleek
Coat: Black
Mane: Black/Purple
Tail: Black/Purple - longer then average.
Cutie Mark: A speaker which represents her love for music and creating it, often singing to herself or listening to the radio.
Biography:
Amethyst was originally from a small shanty town which was settled in a small darkened area of Hoofington. She lived most of her foalhood with her parents who worked small trivial jobs earning a low income which just about kept food on the table. She was a sheltered filly, her parents fearing what might happen to her if she was ever exposed to the horrors of the outside world. So for a long time she was kept inside, only going out when accompanied by her parents and even then the journeys were brief.
She was just entering her teens on her tenth birthday when a gang called the Reapers came to the town claiming they wanted to garrison there and use it as an outpost for their own hoof hold in Hoofington. Well the town mayor, foolishly refused and attempted to push them out by force with the aid of the local guards who were way outgunned and outnumbered to take on such a gang. But the mayor was desperate and frightened, fearing that if he didn't strike first, they surely would. The fight, if you could call it that, was a slaughter and the Reapers moved through the town killing anyone who resisted. Unfortunately Amethyst's parents had been caught in the fire fight and were killed, her parents having left that day to bring her back a birthday present. They never made it home.
Fearing her parents were dead and being none the wiser to the truth, Amethyst left and moved amongst the screams and galloping ponies, eventually finding her parents laying in a red puddle, her father laying over her mother in a protective embrace as if he'd tried to prevent harm to her. Amethyst broke down, crying and screaming for her parents to wake up but deep down knowing they never would. By the time the slaughter was over she was curled under the cold hoof of her mother, quietly sobbing into her chest which remained silent of a heartbeat.
It was then she was approached by a giant mechanical pony who looked down on her from beyond it's visor. The armor was deep purple and mounted to the sides held a Gatling Lazer and a Grenade Launcher. This mechanical pony was surely a Reaper, maybe not the Reaper that had slain her parents but a Reaper none the less. Amethyst, in a devastated burst of sadness and anger, threw herself at the monster and flailed her hooves against the armored plates. The power armored monster watched her for a moment before it reached up and pulled off the helmet to reveal a mare with a short slightly grey golden mane and white coat, her eyes wet with sadness. She picked up Amethyst and held her close as she closed her eyes, the small filly sobbing into the mares neck.
The scene attracted some of the other Reapers but a sharp glance from the armored pony sent them on their way quickly. The monster... or mare, who latter became known as a Reaper named Lotus took Amethyst in and took her back to the dome where she raised her, taking responsibility for the young mare. Some asked why she would do this, but little known to others was that Lotus had lost her parents at a young age and this combined with the guilt that this young mare had lost hers in something she'd been apart of, made her chose to look after her to at least try to atone for what happened.
From then on Amethyst was raised, taught how to protect herself and grew up under the care of the Reaper. Despite her constant whining she was never allowed to contend and become a Reaper, Lotus wanting more for her then that. And when the day finally came that Lotus was too old to carry on, she retired and left her armor to Amethyst, so that she could at least continue protecting her, despite her aging body. Lotus shortly passed away a few years latter and that was when Amethyst left the hoof in search of that something where she could do better. Eventually she found her way into Bounty Hunting, choosing the contracts which had her hunting down scum like raiders or gangs that had pillaged and raped. And it was there where she remained, forever trying to do better by her guardian and her parents which had died and left her so very long ago.

Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
I would like to join if you would have me ^.^..something i should have done earlier was add a character sheet
- Spoiler:
Basic Information
Name: Midnight Sky
Race*: Pony(Unicorn)
Gender: Male
Occupation: Sniper/Stable Guard
Physical Description
(Ponies, Zebras, Buffalo, Donkeys, Goats)
Size: Mid-size
Build: Athletic
Coat: Black
Mane: Purple

Cutie/Glyph Mark: White Stars surrounded by lightish black moon
Biography
(Background, personality; please be detailed)
Background: Midnight Sky was born in the outside world before the bombs fell on Equestria to a family of Antique sellers. Even before the bombs fell his life was one that could not be regretted or even despised. It was when the bombs fell that his life soon went to hell. His father had died fighting in the war to protect his mother and father, and his mother died shortly after getting to the stables. Only Midnight and his brother remained as the stables closed, sealed off from the outside world and the horrors it held. Midnight soon became a stable officer, to protect his little brother and also to be like his father. Midnight Sky trained day and night to become better with the sniper rifle, which became his favorite weapon as time went on. His life was suddenly picking back up until his little brother became terribly ill and the doctors could not help him recover. They had given him only two weeks to live, if he was lucky. This struck Midnight hard as he was losing the last member of his family and his only reason for living. Three weeks had soon passed and his brother died, leaving him all alone. Midnight Sky soon stopped talking to everyone, but still continued to do his job guarding the stable…
Personality: Midnight Sky stays silent only speaking if and when the occasion calls for it. He is always calm observing every situation and coming up with plans accordingly. He is also a team player, sticking by his comrades in any situation and helping them out whenever they need it, even if they are on the verge of death, he will try and help them until they die. Midnight is loyal to those he trust, never letting them down or betraying them, something he learned from his father,

Re: Out-of-Character Thread [TG]
Winter, Penny, do you think it would be possible for Scrapper to know Amy, on account of their common profession? It would be an interesting twist; a nice way to throw in a 'We aren't so different, you and I...' or a classic evil counterpart situation. Maybe even a begrudging temporary alliance before returning to the status quo. Or do you already have plans set up?
Also, people should post moar. I want in, dammit!

Guys...listen. I've restarted the thread again.
It's a jerk move, and I'm sorry. It seems arbitrary, I know, but this is the LAST RESTART. No more restarts. Ever. I've fixed all the problems and cured my crippling self-doubt about the story-line with the latest installment.
Please stick along with me. The thread is going to go somewhere this time, after nearly six months of my BS.
