==Personality==
Not one for thinking too deeply about anything, Mad Mek stands on the fine line between groaning zombie and insane genius. Although he may appear stupid, that is quite frankly not the case. Upon closer inspection, one would find the brilliant mind of a tinkerer trapped underneath a maelstrom of insanity.In order to make up for the loss of his left foot during the apocalypse, Mad Mek fashioned himself a somewhat functional prosthetic leg (even though it looks like a flat plate hooked up to some springs and lead pipes attached to what's left of his ankle). He has an obsessive love of machines, but despises terminals and any other arcano-tech device (like energy weapons), labeling them off as "Flashy glowy 'fings wif electrical gubbins and zappy what-nots".
In regards to dealing with other living creatures, Mad Mek has his good days and his bad days. His rambling speech, short temper, and hideously deformed body (even a fellow ghoul would find him ugly), have been very effective at making sure the only friends he's ever had since the apocalypse have been nearly just as insane, and twice as dangerous. Thus, most attempts to communicate with him often have varied results that range from a simple grunt of indifference to the possibility of being attacked. The only thing that drives him to keep going is the possibility that somewhere in the wastes, he will rediscover who he was.
==History==
Mad Mek, or if you want to go by his pre-ghoulification name, "Mazzer", was a rather bright diamond dog labouring in Equestria in the final days of the Great War. He was a worker in the town of Ponyville, and made a living by doing odd jobs (usually fixing things). Of the six Ministry Mares, the only one that he had any form of contact with was Rarity, having been nothing but a bawling pup when his father and a group of his friends kidnapped her. He was there to witness the balefire bombs dropping, and he was also there to be bathed in their lethal radiation. The blasts tore from him almost every memory that he had, and fried his brains (But not enough to make him forget how to fix things). He emerged from the rubble of Ponyville to be greeted with his hideous new form, and has been wandering the wastes ever since the bombs dropped, driven solely by the urge to tinker, and a desire to remember who he was, and how he came to be on this world.
Mad Mek has been through massive periods of loneliness before in his life, but had never experienced loneliness like in the wastes. He would often be alone for several months, walking indefinitely in one direction until he found settlement. There was a point in his life where he ran in a band of raiders, but he doesn't like to talk about those times, for one reason or the other. Mad Mek has never had a permanent home in the wastes, preferring to be a traveling repairman of sorts. Sometimes, he even sets up a shop in either a town or out in the wastes in the hopes of lightening the load on his back so he can walk properly. Currently, he has his shop set up in the town of Stableton, and it is the longest single period of time that he has stayed in a single location. For an entire year, he has endured the constant suspicion of the townsfolk. Out of the corners of his eyes, he sees the mothers shying their children away from him, he notices how the guards start eyeing their guns when he passes by, and he hears the pretty mares talk ill words behind his back.
