Ponyshock: "Raven" Squad

Blazen was pushed aback onto a wall, and his nose started bleeding. "Dammit!" He said, and attempted to attack the splicer with his hoof.

The sudden ferocity of the splicers caught Arc off guard, and took him few precious seconds to organize himself with his surrondings. As he finally managed to realize what had just happened, he ignored his pistol and choose to help Kestrel with the monkey thing ripping appart his back instead.

Kestrel barely even grunted as the Spider Splicer attacked him from behind. He just calmly dropped his rifle and reached down to draw his revolver. From there it was a simple matter of pointing the weapon over his shoulder and squeezing off a round in the general area that the splicer was supposed to be.

He hadn't noticed that Arc was trying to help him out, but who knows maybe his telekinesis could still come in handy yet.

Something, not somepony poked its gruesome visage from behind the pipes, its face twisted into the parody of a laugh, high pitched giggling erupting from its lips. Zestari fired.

Her first shot punched into the abominations wrist, tearing it open, leaving it to gush blood. But she reeled back from the creature in fear, her two other shots missing and ricocheting off the pipes.

Then they were attacked. More blunt object carrying things from the other two corridors and the one that she had managed to hit gracefully jumped over the group to bury the hooks into Kestrel.

Hopefully the griffon would be able to fend of the attacker; she thought, and looked to the other blunt object wielding monsters to see where her assistance would be best put to use. Blazen and Amber both seemed to be having some trouble, however Blazen appeared to be closer to her, and she turned towards the monster attacking him and unloaded more bullets from her 10mm at it.

The team of would be rookies managed to prove their mettle when they each responded to their attackers in turn.

Dae was the first to deal some massive damage to the opposition, his tough claws digging deep into the splicer that had tried to attack him. With a howl of pain the splicer attempted to swing at him again, but it was futile. The Diamond dog managed to rip his claws free and gut the abomination before she could do anything else.

Blazen's attack was not so successful, his hoof slamming into his opponents face with only enough force to send the ugly pony reeling back a bit. But it had still been a success, if a small one.

Amber, still dazed from his blow to the head was saved by a volley of fire from Dash who had already managed to kill one splicer with a well placed headshot. His 9mm made short work of the one attacking Amber, the pistol pumping two rounds into the Splicers chest and neck. It fell to the ground shortly after, twitching and gurgling wetly as blood poured from its wounds. Not quite dead yet, but only by sheer luck.

Kestrel continued the teams streak of good luck, his .44 magnum tearing a massive hole in the chest of the splicer that had attached itself to him. He would have never been able to make the shot he did if Arc's magic hadn't started lifting the assailant away. The body landed against the wall with a sickening wet splat, this splicer twitching as well. Its jaw working soundlessly with unspoken words.

Zestari was the first to break the teams luck, her shots swinging wide and missing her chosen target entirely. The slack was however picked up by Mona, who landed a strong hit to the splicers shoulder with her borrowed rifle. The splicer was not down yet, but if the blood loss was anything to go by it didn't have much fight left in it.

3 splicers down, 2 remain. The splicer that attacked Amber is dying, and the one that attacked Blazen is wounded.

Dae, Dash, and Kes managed to kill their splicers/attackers.

Blazen landed a punch sending his attacker reeling, the splicer was hit by a shot from Mona but is still alive.

Amber is coming to and has a nearly dead splicer in front of him.

Blazen, seeing that his attack was slightly successful, he attempted to pick up his 9mm on the ground and fire it.

The telekinesis worked and the monkey abomination latched on Kestrel's back was held still long enough for the griffin to pull out his revolver and use it to splatter the splicer on the opposing wall. Watching the corpse slide down to the ground and leave bloody path behind, it was starting to make Arc both morbidly curious and sick.

"No, not yet, you'll have time to look later"

Arc pulled out his 9mm pistol and took aim for the splicer Blazen managed to kick on the ground, an easy target even for somepony so incompetent with guns as Arc.

Dash blinked as the splicer's head cracked like a roasted chestnut as a 9mm bullet from his gun nailed it. Moving on to the second as his instincts dictated, he was again internally surprised as he watched the second splicer fall. He hadn't ever killed anyone in such close quarters before, able to see, clearly the gruesome results of his shooting, he knew he would have to get used to it.

He looked to Amber, "You alright?" he asked.

The last remaining splicer was torn to shreds in a volley of 9mm rounds. Blazens three round burst smacking into the splicers chest while Arc's shot entered right below the splicers eye, exiting the back of the skull in a spray of bone and brain matter. The splicer crumpled down into a limp pile on the floor, dead, gone, beaten.

Luckily no one got showered with the spray, and only Kestrel was bleeding.

With that splicer down, and another one barely clinging to life the fight could honestly be called over now.

Kestrel, seeing that the fight was over reached up and grabbed onto the hook that was in his shoulder. It hadn't gotten very deep, but it was still embedded rather firmly. It barely took any effort at all to get the thing out from his shoulder. The hook found a nice home in his saddlebags shortly there after.

Heh...lucky bastard. Kes thought rolling his shoulder a bit to double check its condition. It was fine...just a hole.

Reloading his revolver and replacing it in its holster Kes turned and nodded to the group. They had done well.

Next he reached down and grabbed hold of his rifle, putting it back in place on his back and securing it once more. He was about to start walking off immediately but he figured Zestari would want to look at the wound in his shoulder first.

"Loot em' quick" the gryphon grumbled out motioning to the splicers with a nod. After that he went silent and didn't really do much else. Just waited on the others to do what he had told them.

"So... that's all of them? It looks like so.", thought Arc.

He moved to look at the splicer Kestrel's .44 impressed to the wall. As he was getting ready to loot the corpse, he finnaly got a good look on the body.

Arc's expression grew from curious to visibly shaken.
"I'm sorry, but you'll have to excuse me for a few seconds"

With that said, Arc quickly galloped to a nearby thrashcan and promptly proceeded to share the content of his stomach with the container.

Perhaps it was because she was still shaking in fear, didn't want to risk hitting Blazen, or just not skilled with firearms, but her shots went wide of the mark, whizzing off into the darkness.

Sighing around the mouthpiece of the weapon, she shifted slightly to the left, Blazen had pushed the splicer away, and the group had responded quickly unloading their weapons at the beast.

Once the remaining enemies were dispatched, ignoring the bodies, she turned to Kestrel and grimaced as he wrenched the hook out. "I could have done that for you," she clicked her tongue irritably, "And more carefully, too." she watched as he dropped the hook into his bag and looked ready to move off. "I want to look at that puncture wound the... hook monster dealt to you, Kestrel, before we mvoe off." She wouldn't take no for an answer.

She approached the griffon and checked the wound, it was deep, the hook had been embedded pretty deeply, and although it wasn't bleeding a lot, puncture wounds rarely did. Looking it over, it was probably not severe enough to warrant a health potion. So she cleaned the worst of the blood off, dug around in her right-hand saddlebag, and then withdrew a tin. Opening it, it released the pungent smell of herbs and she reached in and withdrew a hoof covered in dark green paste. She generously slathered it onto the wound.

Given some time the salve would rapidly heal the worst of the damage caused by hook, and more importantly protect against infection.

After she had looked and dressed Kestrel's wounds, she decided to check on Amber, seeing as he’d been dazed and knocked to the ground by the splicer, and walked over to him. "How are you feeling?"

Her attention was suddenly drawn towards Arc vomiting into a bin. "Huh?" she asked dully.

Mona quickly took the time they had to load another three rounds into the hunting rifle

Started with a full clip...Twenty-seven rounds left...going to have to make them count...

However, her atention was distracted away from her borrowed rifle as Kes ordered the group to loot, and Arc, having seen something off from the corpse, quickly galloped off to that trashcan...
Mona approached the corpse Arc had been about to loot, this one, despite the massive hole, clearly being in the best condition out of those monsters.

As she reacked down to get a good look at the body, she did let out a small gasp of surprise, before her monotone set back in almost instantly.

"It's almost like a ghoul's reflection from a funhouse mirror."

She commented, as she frisked down the corpse for any ammo or supplies...

Kes only grunted in thanks for the medical treatment, and began to turn around and move off down the hall. He'd need to get the recipe that she had used, it was some good stuff.

Arc had beat him to the motivation though, and was currently becoming very well acquainted with the contents of a nearby bin. Heh, rookies. They always churn when the battles get bloody.

He listened to Mona's comment and couldn't help but silently agree. These things, whatever they are, were ugly as sin. Twisted, terrible mockeries of the pony form each and everyone.

All the more reason to kill them whenever they showed up.

Dash changed his 9mm's mag to a fresh one to reload the 6 he had expended from the first one, 'Not too too much waste...' Dash thought to himself, '3 shots in the first volley... 3 shots into those two other ones. 1 headshot, 2 CoM... 2 kills, at least'

Dash let out a heavy sigh and looked at the splicers. Ugly was a massive understatement. How these creatures could be in any way related to the former subjects of Princesses Celestia and Luna was utterly beyond Dash, "It's like... They're barely even ponies anymore... Turning into.. something else.."

He walked over to one of the bodies that Arc had looked at, and looked away for a minute. These...things were not ponies at all, not even close to it. He seen people looting the bodies, but he looked at his pipbuck and checked his EFS for any hostiles in the current area.

Thankfully, there were none on the radar, or near them. He pulled out the mag of his 9mm, and seen that he was nearly out of ammo, three shots were left. He sighed, and looked at his pouch, everything still the same. He had a really bad habit.

He looked at one of the splicers and one of its weapons. He grabbed the odd looking blunt weapon, then realized it was a wrench. He placed it in his pouch carefully, and noted it would be useful for when he runs out of ammo, which would most likely be in their next battle.

"Is everypony okay?" He said, concerned. He really didn't care about his bleeding nose at all, he was more concerned of the others.

Arc lifted his head from the trashcan, looking pale and breathing heavily. He wiped the vomit off his muzzle with his hoof. Arc never been in actual battle, not in such brutal, sudden close quarters combat.

"Holy fucking Celestia, i killed that pony.", the words bounced in his head.

After a minute of motionless starring to the wall, he managed to get himself collected enough to at least speak.

"I'm sorry everyone, i just... i just never been in such situation, and it kinda fell on me. But i'm okay, no actual wound or damage."

"Yes, Arc, this isn't such a beatiful place as it first appeared, but right now you have to keep it together, when you'll get out of here you can go nuts in any way you want, but now is not the time."

Arc's eyes wandered on the nearest copse. The pony... well it wasn't much of a pony anymore, a small relief to Arc's consciousness at least, looked to be carrying a wrench. Arc levitated it closer to his face. It looked fine, good quality, no rust, solid cast steel. That could come in handy in a pipe-rich enviroment.

Looking around, and reasoning that the group had had enough time to loot and get ready to move Kes stood up and began to walk down the hall, his Pipbuck light shining through the darkness.

"Les' Move" He called out when he noticed none of them were following him. Not even bothering to turn around when he spoke. He was to focused on his surroundings, in making sure no more of those things popped up again.

Upon reaching the end of the hall way Kes would begin carefully climbing up the staircase. He did not want to risk another possible attack, and his skills at keeping quiet would no doubt help in that cause.

Dash blinked and looked over when Kestrel called for them to move. He saw nothing of use to him on the splicers so he put his 9mm into its holster and trotted over nearer toward where Kestrel was going,signifying that he was done there. He still intended to maintain his assigned position, however. He gave one last look to the dead splicers and rocked his sides slightly in a shiver, adjusting his wings slightly. He then looked away definitively. He silently hoped that there wouldn't be much that was worse down here.

As Kes walked up the staircase, , it spiraled upward, however upon viewing the door that led to the upper level, it appeared there was a robotic automation with a white light tracking the stairway.... it ringed as Kes came into view but stopped as he backed out....

Figures Kes thought, already busy with pulling his rifle out from its holster. A spotlight system, one sensitive to either movement or...wait...that wasn't a spot light...it was a camera.

Kes could just make out the defined shape and shimmering glass of a camera lens. They had had a few such things back in Fillydelphia, for the more secure areas. Really high-tech stuff.

Most however, were not bullet proof.

He looked back at the group behind him. If they tried to move past the camera's view, it would catch them at the door. This was not acceptable in the least.

Carefully moving forward again Kes watched the camera...memorizing its range before he jumped out and took aim at the device, firing once to disable it; and being sure it was facing away from him when he did fire.

Having found nothing of use on the twisted creature, Mona stepped in line with the rest of the group, covering the rear.
As the rest of the group climbed the staircase, she followed last, rifle still trained down the hallway as she listened for even the slightest sound, slowly backing up the staircase. She wasn;t going to let any of those things get the drop on them from this direction.

Her attention was momentarily pulled by a ringing noise, as she glanced behind herself, seeing Kes backing out of view of some sort of automation.

"Think it's some sort of security device? A camera?"

However, by the time Mona mentioned that, it looked like Kes was already lining up a shot. Hopefully it wouldn't have any failsafes in case of an attack against it...

Dash jolted and looked up at the top of the stairs as he heard a shot from Kestrel's rifle. He wasn't quite sure what was going on up there, but he prepared himself to quickly move back down the stairs to allow the group to retreat properly from a possible threat at the top of the stairs, 'This place just gets better and better...' he thought, 'An underwater city, with horrific ponies even farther gone than ghouls... What else could it throw our way?...'

Amity now had his katana out full time incase of another ambush not wanting the buggers to get another lucky shot on him. He watched though as the rest of the group dispatched the horrendous creatures and moved to the stairway. Amity saw Kes turn the corner as a white light passed by. Beeping a bit, this heightened Amity's senses as he became more cautios with his movements. Silently flaping his wings up to boost him towards the group, he landed as quietly as he could behind Kestrel and Mona as he waited for Kestrel to take his shot.

Hopefully this would go smoothly. If not, well we would really have no problem would we. He knew the other's were quite skilled with their weapons and he with his sword. After all, you don't need to reload a sword. If all went well maybe he wouldn't even need to use his throwing knives.

*CRASH* the camera came down and the group was able to proceed without any trouble.....until they reached the last room, their destination set by Dr. Gene......there was a light shining on the inside and several voices were arguing about a "Filthy Rich" and a "Dr. Heartrose" trying to figure out who they could go to, to 'help them out' with Dr. Gene..., they never stated what their situation was however....
